I was an angry 16 year-old dude in 1981 after my Dad (who was in the service) was transferred from Hawaii to Washington, D.C. I left a job I loved, a school I knew and a bunch of good friends that I would never see again. I left paradise for the cold Maryland suburbs and was plunged into a foreign environment full of strangers. I was pissed. This song spoke to me and told me that someone understood how I felt. It really meant a lot to me and helped to teach me the power of music -- and art, in general.

In 1980 I left the US to go to school In Israel, I was 18yrs old. My girlfriend had made me a cassette tape mix with JT, Simon and Garfunkel and a few others. She must have known all the songs would remind me of her as there was no other American radio music to listen to there. I listened to her home made cassette every day while doing my homework and sometimes being homesick too. We didn't get married but every time I here JT songs my feelings for her come bact. Her name was Carolyn Warner from Utah.
