    What does crack really feel like : you are hungry and have a great meal in front of you. Everytime you smoke crack is like putting some of the food into your mouth but after a few minutes you have to spit in out and you are never allowed to swallow it. And each time, you have to put less in your mouth and you have to spit it out sooner. So the more you smoke the more you want it, you never feel satisfied no matter how much you smoke.

    I have a friend who got hooked by his neighbor on crack, got to the point where he Pawned his Surround Sound, TV, even got a Car Title Loan for his BMW car about 4,000 dollars just to buy more crack. He would say this is my last day smoking it man, then buy some more the next day progressed from a 20 to 40 to 60 then bout 100bucks daily worth of crack. The neighbor who introduced him is a Homeless young man who Pan Handles for a living to buy crack. My question to you is how hard is it to come off it? I tried talking some sense into him but nothing works to the point where he quit his job just to go get the fix. He got this bad cough blames it on the Brillo that he would finish the crack and keep smoking straight pipe without anything in it. Good video hope u can do better as well.

      Hey man that sucks sorry to hear about your friend Hope he can find his way to sobriety. It's very hard to come off of. In my experience crack was the most psychologically addicting substance I ever tried Crack/injecting cocaine and meth all up there. Idk why but the uppers leave an imprint in your brain its hardddd. Buts it's very very possible tons of people have done it. I was injecting over an 8 ball of coke a day and smoking crack to top it off and i'm clean and sober multiple years from that stuff. not easy but he can do it. He needs support 12-step or outpatient something. Hope that helps best of luck man

    I want to share my story.
    I've tried crack once in a lifetime. BELIEVE ME, THE OUTCOME IS NOT WORTH THE EFFECT. It was only one night joy, but I do agree - it's SO addictive and that's so dangerous, because at this moment you don't really understand what's happening - you just become more talkative, relaxed and hyped at the same time. The moment you realise, how bad it is, is the moment when you run out of it - my body was shaking, I couldn't sleep, I was feeling so sick but understood, that throwing up will not change a thing, because this shit is in my blood. REMEMBER, IT WAS ONLY ONE NIGHT, not months or years. PLEASE, PLEASE stay away from this drug, it breaks my heart to think about how many people are strugling with it like rn. Stay safe and sober 🙏 It's not worth it, believe me.

      I find it very interesting how cocaine induces a very intense high for about 5-15 minutes which is then immediately followed by a crash, which is the complete opposite of the high. And how the crash and withdrawal symptoms last a lot longer than the high. Doing cocaine doesn't seem worth it in my opinion.

    • @sharpmerciful787
      @sharpmerciful787 4 года назад

      And from what I understand, the more you use cocaine, the more intense the crash becomes, so your depression will get even worse with every use. It will get so bad that you will do almost anything to get the drug-even commit murder. www.drugfreeworld.org/drugfacts/crackcocaine/effects-of-crack-cocaine.html

    • @kittanna6479
      @kittanna6479 3 года назад

      @@sharpmerciful787 yeah that’s why it’s so addictive, most people want to leave the withdrawal more then they want to enter the high, they still obviously crave the high but they crave it so much more because of the intense withdrawal, they just want it to go away. Compare it to meth which is more then 3 times more intense, it releases 1500 dopamine levels compared to crack which is 400 so crack lasting 10-30 minutes has nothing on meth which lasts 12-16 hours and it way more intense but the come down from Meth is less intense then crack

    Hey man I'm so glad to have come across this as you said something very important to me. The bit where u mentioned that bit about people saying dont talk to me while or after doing my hit. I thought this was only me. I used for about 7months not everyday but enough. I loved the bell ringers they were heavenly and so godlike. However there were times when I would take a hit and someone I'd be with would talk to me or say something and I'd feel myself getting high or coming up but then that person would distract me and like with a click of your fingers my high would go and I'd feel so annoyed and pissed off. In turn this would affect my heart rate and everything as I'd still have the crack in me but with no euphoria or anything. I feel this has never left me and my brain and life has not been normal I don't feel a part of reality man. Like I've lost my mind. Will my brain ever heal from this? Please will you get back to me thanks

      Hey Vickram You are not alone brotha lots of others out there struggle with this and got those same feelings. In my opinion cocaine is one of the most psychologically addicting drugs ever We remember that bell ringer years after we took that last hit...."but always play the tape all the way through" When you think about using again remember all the pain and misery that follow the 2 minutes of pleasure....Also YES YOUR BRAIN WILL GET BETTER. Dr Halligan a board certified addiction psychologist says that after 90 days of sobriety they can see changes in cocaine addicts brains where its starting to repair itself and that it can takes up to 2 years. Everyday you stay clean you heal a little more. You got this brotha!!!!!

I totally get that One of the reasons I started Soberdogs was because i was hiding my past from everyone and It was killing me so I decided to open up to everyone. I'm not saying you need to do that but find your outlet. Find that thing you love (dogs, hiking, working out, church, whatever) and get involved I bet it will start to make you feel better and remember you are not your drug. Was addicted to Klonopin for like 3-4 years of my life until i mixed it with a substances i wont say, and it all started to rapidly destroy my life, as well as all my relationships! Im glad i quit when i did because i couldnt do ANYTHING without Klonopin during those years i was on it. Thank god that i can now live without it! It’s hard to quit, but I now understand that sooner or later it had to stop! Btw, im glad you’re sober now!

    Thanks for this informative video. My mother has been smoking crack for ten years and I've always just turned a blind eye to it because we've had a very strained relationship due to her drug addiction. I've never witnessed her doing the actual drug until a few weeks ago and it was like a punch to my gut. Is it possible for her to only be doing this drug casually? I hope she can get sober but how can you help someone who does not want to be helped...

    • @Soberdogs
      @Soberdogs  4 года назад +2

      Hey, Karen Sorry about your situation crack is an awful awful drug. In my opinion and experience, very very few people can casually smoke crack. I have met a few that only did it every once in a while but they all had another drink or drug they did daily. The thing that makes crack diff than like heroin is heroin we go into physical withdrawal and have awful flu-like symptoms if we don't have it. With crack, you don't get that but you get a mental detox. many people including myself have smoked crack daily for a month then ran out of money or whatever and stopped and the days after I was physically fine to go to work and stuff but was a mental mess I hope she is just doing it occasionally because then it will be easier for her to get sober. I wish you the best. Please reach out if you have any more questions or concerns

      @@Soberdogs thank you for what u do. Your channel came up in my feeds randomly a few days after seeing my mother smoking crack. I binge watched all your videos and it gave me insight into why she does drugs and the highs and lows she goes through and understanding her bizzare behavior at times. Her and her boyfriend were using heroin and smoking crack for many years. They would get so desperate he would prostitute himself to get more money. He died and over dosed in front of my mother one night of partying and that still hasn't stopped her from doing drugs. In my 29 years of life, Her main addiction started with anorexia, to alcoholism, to prescription drugs and she eventually moved on to harder drugs. She's been kicked out of the only rehab center that was willing to help her for free because she tried to create a suicide pack... So many fucked up stories I could go on and on about....... With the quarntine going on in the world I decided to video chat her, and she literally picked up her pipe (the one they sell at corner stores with the rose in it as you describe it in ur other videos) and started smoking her crack in front of me via video chat and showed me how dirty her pipe was.... Ive never confronted her about her lifestyle or drug use in ten years or ever told any one about these issues, it's very emberassing. I'm almost 30 years old and her demons are still following me into my adult hood. Sorry for rambling, but I just wanna say you were given a second chance at life, I don't know you but I'm so proud of ur recovery and I know there is still a small glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel for my mom too one day. The sad thing is no one will ever get help until they are ready and want it. With that being said I would plant seeds of how he doesn't have to live that way anymore. There are millions of people who have been in his shoes and have found recovery and it is so much better than addiction. See if he is receptive to treatment or going to AA/NA meetings. You can't force him but you can offer suggestions and be there when he is ready. When he is sick and tired of being sick and tired he will get help I pray that when that comes its not to late. Most addicts don't want to be addicts so they are open to a different way but I would not get mad at him or put him down just be there and be supportive but don't enable him. Hopefully that helps a little. Its so hard to watch someone you love destroy themselves Im praying for you and him!!!!

    Crack cocaine! This friend named Joe Dukes told me his mother [is/]was a crack addict. I've seen at least one person, living in my highrise many years ago, smoking it. It's this white powdery ball that he put into a short glass pipe. I was never addicted to street drugs, thank god, but I was addicted to internet chatrooms from 1999 to 2019. I can relate to the extreme highs and extreme lows afterwards, from being addicted to getting other people's attention online. Addiction doesn't have to be just a substance. It can be an activity too, like the internet, like using computers.

      @@Soberdogs I'm a sex addict also, which is related (another drug). There's something pleasurable about receiving a lot of [positive] attention from other people, and seeing that these people respond to you as if they're responding to everything you say or do. It's like feeling loved by everybody. Everything you touch turns to gold and nothing you do can be wrong. I thought to myself, maybe this is what POWER [or maybe some kind of profound CONNECTION] feels like, maybe this is the high that actors talk about when they say acting [on stage or in front a camera] is like some kind of orgasmic experience. This is why comedians do what they do. This is why troublemakers in school do what they do. They all want other people's ATTENTION. In the case of the school troublemaker, that person is attracting both positive and NEGATIVE attention. Michael Jackson said he loved being on stage, but his off-stage life was not so ecstatic.

      I'm not sure. The good part is you did it once and then stopped so you didn't give your body time to get hooked again. It might bring back a few cravings but they should be weaker and go away quicker than when you were using daily.

      @@Soberdogs That is so true. Maybe it's just the Devil trying to play tricks on my mind. I've been praying with all my heart for God to take any taste or "good memories" from my mind and to remind me of all the NEGATIVE that comes from crack. Thank you for your comment.

    It affects different people differently. My roommate would smoke and she’d be cool calm collected and sometimes even fell asleep!! Me??? I shake, uncontrollably, cannot walk straight or up and down stairs, my muscles just contract like I took a bunch of Gabas.. then I start cleaning. I can’t sit still and there’s always something to clean!! Hahahha I started seeing shadow people at the end when I was up for 4 days on crack 😹 cuz I didn’t have any heroin and I needed a high! Oh! And don’t talk to me cuz I can’t get a word out anyway and my bedroom window better have a blanket over it! Haha

    Sounds like in a metal tunnel. If interested in audio technicalities, the it's the same sound as a 'comb filter'. Not sure about feel good, more like instant paranoia. I also suffer from severe depression although used to it after 30 odd years. You wouldn't believe that my 'normal' is the same as the average persons 'crack comedown' - at least I can't get a debilitating comedown.

    • @Soberdogs
      @Soberdogs  4 года назад

      yea yea very tru and damn man that sucks i know depression but not on a constant level like that sorry to hear that. You take meds or have anything that helps with that?

    • @threeMetreJim
      @threeMetreJim 4 года назад

      @@Soberdogs Yeah, been on anti-depresants for about the same length of time. Can't function properly without them. I only know the level as I tried the stuff you talk about. While everyone is left in a wrecked state afterwards I just slowly return to 'normal', keeping the same state of mind I had before consuming - I did try leaving off them for a few weeks and see if any difference (as apparently the combination can be dangerous) but no difference. I can either have the anti-d's or the other, the overall effect is the same (other than the cost, and effect not lasting quite as long - up to several days, surprisingly; although the short term effect is obviously quite different)

      @@owyperu ooo I c I think that definitely is real People will use it and then days or even weeks later have compulsions to use again. To me, that's untreated addiction. The obsession will always be there unless it gets treated.

    • @Soberdogs
      @Soberdogs  2 года назад

      in my experience first you got to stop using drugs let them get out of the system, second is see if they are real (lice, scabies, ect) or not, third it takes time to rewire your brain to not think bugs are everywhere, I haven't smoked crack in years and I still have an iossue when i get cat or dog hair on me thinking its bugs.
