  • Do you want to learn how to paint like Matisse cut outs? I will tell you about Henri Matisse Icarus and the Matisse swimming pool in this video about my Matisse art project, just cut and paint like Matisse. Henri Matisse is a French painter, member of the Fauves and the Fauvism art movement. But when Henri Matisse got sick later in life he started making Henri Matisse collage art. Matisse cut paper with scissors and his assistants put the pieces on the wall where he wanted them. This way Henri Matisse the cut outs came to life and Matisse cut out art was there to look at. Enjoy painting like Matisse and make your own Matisse Icarus cutout, you will see everything you need to know in this Matisse collage art lesson.

    The art materials I use in the videos are not sponsored.
    I prefer to work on multi-purpose paper, more info in this video: • How to choose the RIGH...
    In almost all my videos I use with Winsor&Newton Galeria acrylics, if not, I will say so in the video.
    Other materials I use are in random order: 5, 10 and 40mm brushes, palette knives, acrylics medium, Ecoline liquid watercolor, Lyra color pencils, Lyra soft pastels, oil pastels, Stabilo color pencils, paper palette pad and basic masking tape. I also use household items like a permanent marker, scrub sponge, scissors, paper towel, and so on.

    Another great painting! I like your version of Matisee swimming pool, even though it is not a swimming pool. And Sylvia (age 7) had lots of fun working on this project!

      Hello Katarina, thanks. YES this was a fun project. I liked to do the Icarus part, but the swimming pool was especially fun. And Sylvia had a lot of fun together with her grandmother. Really anyone can play around with paint like this. Bye, Albert

      Hi Cara, thanks. I liked it too and it was very easy. Do you paint? Or are you otherwise creative? I would love to hear. Albert

    This is even better with fabric. Ive made many with fabric in a combination of prints, solids, even tapestries and true velvets. For all fabric lovers like myself, try it with paper first, and then try fabric.

      Hi Misty, thanks. Your suggestion sounds great. I don't have a stash of fabrics but I would love to try this. I'll put it on my list of suggestions for future projects. Albert

    I liked the "recycle" art better than the Percival!

      Hi Renee, thanks. I agree with you. The Percival one is more to show how you can work. The recycle is just about having fun. Thanks for dropping by, Albert

      Hi Katarzyna, thanks. I guess you're right. And sometimes obvious can be easier to explain things. Or you don't know how. It's all about learning. Happy painting, Albert

    What kind of paper do you use?

    • @ImperfectPaintings
      @ImperfectPaintings  Год назад

      Thanks, Judith, for asking. It's a multipurpose locally available drawing paper. I made a video about paper, perhaps this helps. ruclips.net/video/H2vpSqvUESg/видео.html

    Thank you for this video! ❤️❤️ I was wondering what are you using to paint in min 2:31? 😉

      Hi Lu, thanks. I had to check for a second and the answer is an old membership card, or credit card. You can also use a palette knife. I've gotten used to these cards. They are free and in fact garbage that found a second life. Do try this yourself too. Hope this helps. Happy painting, Albert

      Hi Valsa, I'm not sure what your question is. The paintinga shown at the end are made by the participants of my painting course. Perhaps this helps, but if you have a different question, please don't hesitate to ask again using other words. Albert
