Someone should make these types of over-the-top promotional videos with ancient buildings like the Pyramids, Machu Picchu, and Colosseum.
I'd love to see someone do that. Especially if they lean into the original purpose of the thing, like breathlessly extolling the spiritual benefits of burying one's pharaoh beneath an artificial mountain of granite and limestone.

Saudi Arabian Royals keep signing some archticture visions that could have come from first grade architectural students without checking any plausibilty or construction cost.
Will be fun seeing all those abandoned building projects in some decades.

The structure itself is hollow
This structures volume is almost 5 times that of the Boeing Everett Factory, the largest building by usable volume in the world. Even then, it's mostly hollow.

Though you are right, I wonder if you are not using bias or prejudice against arab proaperity. For instance, have you asked the wage of the people who mined the rare minerals for your computer or smartphone where you are typing this?

The minimum monthly wage for a guest worker in Saudi Arabia is 2200 riyal (around 550 euros). For comparison, the minimum wage for a saudi is 1000euros and the median wage in India in 332 euros, in Pakistan 273 euros, in Nepal is 592 euros (questionable source) and Philippine construction worker make on average 345 euros a month (sorry for the inconsistent metrics).

Weird. My first impression was, "exclusive", but this is way worse than that. It's a insulated alternate reality environment. I guess they feel like there's not much they can do to change their environment, so build a city under a dome instead. No way that structure is cost effective or remotely "sustainable".
Well, Saudi Arabia has very strict laws due to sharia, so I don't know what else to say if plenty of foreigners (eg. from Europe) will still enjoy the freedom there...
