Today’s 3h20 long run was difficult but I kept telling myself that I can take a walking break whenever I needed one. Eventually I did not need it but it helped go through the 3rd quarter where the run becomes taxing w/o having the end in sight. During my first marathon training I always did a little bit more (about 10%) which did not help on the marathon as I was dealing with a knee discomfort that forced me to take walk breaks which helped me to through the 3rd quarter and after the last big hill I was drawn to the finish line like a magnet.
For the last ten years I've been telling myself that I never have to do this or any running again.😂 So true about the satisfaction of getting to the finish line.
I used several of these techniques yesterday and I ran 3:03:08!!!
Stunning time ! Gunning for a PR in under two weeks myself so fingers crossed !

The most comprehensive running/fitness channel on the net, and the gap grows weekly. Great job Team Coach Parry! 👏🏽🔥
agreed!
Thank you so much for the helpful and informative tips! God bless and good luck!
Some top tips as always. I have found that people who have lived a tough life, are much more mentally strong to being a mentally tough runner.
Absolutely! I've noticed the same thing.

I can't relate to this. I got big goals, and the journey is just getting started
Wish I'd watched this video before last night's race, where I was running into a horrendous headwind.
I do the "im never doing this again " mantra 😂
