The newer version has a different 12V PSU. IRM-05-12 MEAN WELL AC/DC Power Modules from Mouser. I'm told the older ones like in the video are not interchangable. Also had to replace (bypass) the built in circuit breaker as it fried as well.
Awesome video. It's really funny how Neptune that sorposed to be top notch has a product that stops working in couple year's and than try to charge you over half the price of the product that cost 2 dollars. That's crazy!!
It looks like the module has a failed capacitor. Notice the barrel with the top extended up. It looks a little like a can with the liquid in it frozen. Good job. Subscribed.
Worked on two of my EB832's today. I ordered the parts months ago and finally got around to it. I cannot get the fans to fire up on either one of them. Are the fans for heat override only? Do I need new fans? Thank you, sir for your efforts!
I know you replied that you dont have a clip on how you did the desolder, but can you explain how you did it? I am trying but is realy difficult because of the 4 pins,
If anyone is looking for the part that I used I have added it to the video description.

It sounds like you may need some new fans mine came on when I powered it up.
can you share on how you remove and soldered in the new part? thanks
Since i've already repaired this I don't have clip or video of the desolder and resolder of the part.
I know you replied that you dont have a clip on how you did the desolder, but can you explain how you did it? I am trying but is realy difficult because of the 4 pins,
There is a device called a desoldering gun that will help to remove the solder from the pins and make it easier to remove.
I already bought it two pieces just in case.
I bought it 2 years ago and Today after a power outage my EB832 stop working , thanks to this video I fix it. Thanks
Thanks for the video, can i run EB832 on 220v? also the outlets?
That I am not sure I believe it would work with adaptors but I would reach out to neptune and check with them.
@@SimplyReefing thanks for your reply
Shame on apex... they need to stand behind their products
