I was ready to buy a new salinaty probe, BUT you saved me $209.00. Thank you for the clear instructions on how to get it fairly close. Not perfect but Im using stable .

I just got one of these and I’m quite confused about the probes. Thanks for making this video it has really helped me out a lot.

Thanks for the info comes in handy. I had a little trouble recalibrating because I cleaned it & the numbers were off for me. But I did a manual & seems like it’s working now.

I really appreciate your video! I bought a new unit and STILL No Salinity!! But eventually after trying this and that with no luck. I used your suggestions and it seemed to settle and read accurately. I was able to complete a manual with your techniques. So I decided to attempt an automatic and BAMM!!! Thanks

having loads of issues with my probe. Like you a bought second hand and recently found out my probe wasnt readin correctly and been having trouble calibrating it. Hannha checker says 31 ppt apex saying 35ppt. I calibrate, and test the apex probe in the solution then come sup with 31ppt :/ on the verge of either buying a new probe or getting rid of the apex. Cuase whats the point in it if they arnt even nearly accurate right? :( hard times....

Can you use hannas calibration solution if you don't have neptune apex calibration solution?

A 4/7/10 PH probe standard is universal as it's not baed on color. ANY other standard is based on a reagent color change and is not usually universal.

ppt is Parts Per Trillion. Specific Gravity is weigh based against water. An SG of 1.00 = Water. Higher is heavier and less is lighter.

Are you trolling... ppt is parts per thousand. Lab grade can often be able to detect ppb but parts per trillion that would be one super expensive probe!
