    This is the closest thing the US has to a moon landing in terms of excitement. Those that research this know that these successful landings are the basic foundation to no kidding real space travel. From this achievement, rapid building of space projects can commence which will then in turn lead to a plethora of space building milestones. Let the new space age commence! Well done Musk and Co!

    When I read or watch the news and I look at all the petty problems that the world has - religion, ignorance, bigotry, corruption, racism, sexism and a whole lot more - I feel very disappointed and frustrated in humanity and our future. I used to get some hope in the future of humanity restored when I watched stuff like Star Trek where in that fictional world we are beyond all these problems. These days, watching the progress that SpaceX and Tesla makes, I get that same sense of optimism and hope in humanity. So really, thank you for working so hard to make things like this possible and thus giving hope to me and millions like me.

    • @FlatEarthMath
      @FlatEarthMath 8 лет назад +17

      I understand your sentiment, but you're free to watch the technical broadcast instead. The audience for this broadcast is very broad: from school kids who are just learning about space technology to super informed space fans such as you. :-)
      I thought I was very knowledgable about space, yet I've never played KSP, and I only learned about Max-Q a few weeks ago. Tutorials don't hurt the people who already know. :-)

    • @neurhlp
      @neurhlp 8 лет назад +7

      Max-Q: that's where your rocket usually flips/explodes in KSP (>1.0.1) and suffers a rapid unscheduled disassembly.

    • @piranha031091
      @piranha031091 8 лет назад +7

      The serious answer to that question is probably click farms. Companies you can pay to add a certain number of likes on your video. RUclips disapproves of that and uses a bunch of algorithms to try to distinguish the likes from genuine accounts from those from click farms.
      So, to disguise themselves as actual youtube users, they go like and mostly dislike other videos at random. Hence why videos with a lot of views inevitably have a certain number of dislikes.

    • @williegillie5712

    Talk about landing a needle on a pinhead. Damn, that is truly impressive. I would hate to be responsible for that GNC code. Whoever designed that system is a Steely Eyed Missile Man / Woman for sure. No doubt, it was a team effort; and what a team! Congrats Space-X folks. Well done.

    that bug 19:45 is the reason to be humble, It is more autonomous, smooth, use less energy, has less computing power dont have any control center behind it and still lands, stick, flies like no other thing, is efficient in all of its maneuvers.
    So blessed is Allah , the best of creators

    I guess I can now imagine a time when people will travel to and from orbit, and land without the need for pilots, etc. Never thought I'd see that happen, but nailing this barge landings is just simply amazing. Isn't science cool? I LOVE IT.

      So all employees are (at least naturalized) americans

    It's quite fascinating to see how far visual tracking technology for rockets has come. If you look at footage from even a few years ago, the rocket would be veering all around the screen as the camera hunted for it in the sky. Here it stays rock solid in the center which, I am guessing, is due to greater predictive capabilities using GPS and the like.

      its not about being 'cool'. grow up, it's about dissolving boundaries and people coming and putting their heads together to work for advancing to another age. Besides, this ability to sit on your computer or iphone to type in those words was a product of science. Science is no where near lame. peace!
