The problem with ff15 is that the game is unfinished and it's trying to make the fans buy the DLCs which is being updated for like 3 months per episode and it's ridiculous.
To get this ending: 1. You must get all 108 Characters before the Battle at Rockaxe Castle. 2. When Nanami wants to defend Riou and Jowy, you should press as quickly as possible X to choose "Nanami!!!", if the CPU beats you to it, then you're done and she dies in the end." 3. If you were able to beat the CPU in pressing X to answer "Nanami!!!", you should double check after all of the them waiting for Doctor Huan at the Door, if Doctor Huan calls Shu, then you're going to get the True Ending :), if not... Reload your nearest save game and then try again, it isn't hard.
I did this and Nanami kept dying no matter I beat the CPU. Then I decided to not strip Nanami off her equipment before the secuence. And Nanami survived. The game checks Nanami's defence and if isn't high enough, she will dye anyway!

The lack of in-game information on things like this bullshit is the only crucial thing about Suikoden II that has aged very poorly. JRPGs around and before this generation were horrible about problems like this.
Suikoden 1 and 2 are the only games I've played where I cry like a baby every single time. Not even ashamed. We need more games like this; fuck graphics, storyline is what's important.

I played this game literally 16 years ago and just discover this ending by watching this video. I feel like super surprised, but so nostalgia. It is the real perfect ending where it ends how it was started. The best ending ever!!
This game spoiled me. Whenever I play an rpg, I always somehow end up comparing the story to this game. This game has set the gold standard for rpg storytelling imo. Still to this day, there are very few games that come close to this game's storytelling. Only three games actually are on that list for me, which are Mother 3, Dragon Quest 5 and Nier.

You will know you have accomplished this task if Leknaat appears during the rally and unlocks the fourth level spell of the Bright Shield, Forgiver Sign. Then Nanami must have a total DEF value of 121 or greater (you can use equipment to boost her DEF) when she and Riou reach Gorudo during the siege of Matilda Castle. Then you must select either dialogue option when she is deflecting the arrows; there is a time limit for this dialogue selection. Afterwards, Huan should have a private word with Shu after he claims to have failed to save Nanami. Please note that Nanami will still be unavailable for the rest of the game. With that being said, in order to see Nanami alive you must get the "best" ending, which consists of not entering the meeting room in your castle but instead going to Tenzan Pass to meet Jowy at the place the friends swore to wait for each other if separated. Oh god, i was like 9yo when i finished for the first time this game (and i m 27 now), and this is propably my seconde most favorite game (right behind FF7), and i had a few 'walkthrough book' in french to collect most of stars, and i did spend a lot of time achieving this. *But none of these fucking books ever mentionned that ending!!!*
This gives me chills I remember the first time I finished this game. I was just a child. after I defeated the beast rune and knew that I would now have to go back to the falls, I was standing up, I could not contain myself. Finally, when the fate of every character you recruited was listed makes feel like you really undergo Grand adventure rather than just finishing an objective. a real masterpiece. I have never felt that way after finishing a game again to this date
After this we never knew that Luc was going to be the Final Boss in Suikoden 3 and Sasarai was going to be an ally, always beautiful Suikoden... I really really REALLY miss Suikoden! The one and only RPG that I will never forgot. Best Story, most emotional endings of all time, best Characters and my loving favorite in the RPG Genre.
Back when I played this as a kid, I was able to find Jowy on my own during the ending (albeit, after multiple playthrough). The Nanami ending though, I read that in a guide. I was so immerse in the Suikoden world as a kid. I even remember trying to find a way to Harmonia in Suikoden II lol.
I played this game somewhere in my early 20’s for the first time. I remember thinking how well it held up, incredibly moving and genuinely interesting gameplay. For console gaming and videogame story telling in general, it may have even been before its time, right up with with the likes of Ogre Battle MOTBQ

Just select run from cd and enjoy! There is always a right way and a wrong way, like download iso and other bios from pirate sites then be sure to call them a pirate. Don't know if you used "Snake" in reference to Metal Gear games. But it's funny to watch the hero flee a collapsing castle with that name because if I remember correctly that's what happened in most games in the Metal Gear series (replace medieval castle with a modern base.)
I hope that more kids now a days and in the future get to find games like these early on and experience them. I wasn't born when they were coming out, but I still picked up games like Suikoden, Final Fantasy, and especially Chrono Trigger.
Fun fact: Jillia isn't really dead, au contraire to what Jowy might say, she fled and is living elsewhere. Meaning if anyone found her, wanted her to be queen and restore Highland, they could possibly do so. Would make an interesting plot twist for a future Suikoden installment. Konami is now refocusing on their games again, which is a shocker. Never thought this series would return from the dead, but here we are.
25:04 Weird, my version if this is just an infinite loop of Jowy trying to give me the Black Sword. What did I do wrong? I think I completed all the requirements for the good ending but for some reason, I couldn't get it: - Completed all 108 Stars before Leknaat gave me the Forgiver Sign. - Nanami's defense/protect is above 130. - Dr. Huan requested Shu's presence in Nanami's supposed death. - I kept defending on the duel vs Jowy. He can damage me till I get only 20% of my HP left, btw! Did I miss something?
Her defense doesn't matter, Nanami has to be kept alive by selecting either choices before she gets shot, the time frame is extremely short, like half a second
😭😭😭 Im so happy that I bought this game when I was 10 or 12 i guess (im actually going to buy resident evil 3). Never remember if i finished it but I remember the scene where nanami die (sniff). Then try to download and play again in my laptop and finished today with good ending (took me 5 times to have the best ending). And i cried because at the very last moment the three finally together and continue their journey. Im happy that you become part of my childhood mao (riou) nanami and jowy 😘 and saw flik again ❤️
this is an ideal ending hahaha funny, I saw someone mention about realism ending. Yeah, it's logical. But this ending gives u hope and love. Cheesy? maybe. But because these two really rare in life, that makes Suikoden II beautiful, makes how great the protagonist is. We called it a dream, and I dont think we need a too much realistic game. We already have that 'real' life afterall.
Suikoden 2 will always hold a special place in my heart. The last boss battle and perfect ending are truly epic! I agree, we definitely need some new Suikoden games to continue this amazing series. Who else is hoping for a comeback? 🌟

Jowy will die definitely, both of the three would never embark a journey as Riou becoming president of new Republic and he never knew that actually Nanami survived the injury.
The big moment in the ending for me was seeing that Jowy had secured the lives of Jillia and Pilika. While during the story it seems like Jowy is just using her, this seems to give enough of a hint that he perhaps held a soft spot for her in return.
Most people who say that God of War (2018) is an achievement in video game storytelling have no idea how far behind the west has been in things like this. How can the the perception of this entire medium be so wrongly viewed as violent and responsible for shootings when something as beautiful as this has existed all along? Fuck the world.

Nah the sprites are timeless. Compare it to shit like ff7 and 8 that aged like milk. Suikoden 2 is perfect as it is besides the lacking translation...

The one and only RPG that I will never forgot. Best Story, most emotional endings of all time, best Characters and my loving favorite in the RPG Genre.
Back when I played this as a kid, I was able to find Jowy on my own during the ending (albeit, after multiple playthrough). The Nanami ending though, I read that in a guide.
I was so immerse in the Suikoden world as a kid. I even remember trying to find a way to Harmonia in Suikoden II lol.

I played this game somewhere in my early 20’s for the first time. I remember thinking how well it held up, incredibly moving and genuinely interesting gameplay.
For console gaming and videogame story telling in general, it may have even been before its time, right up with with the likes of Ogre Battle MOTBQ

Yep loved thos series so much especially 1 and 2. Good story and loved that you had to enlist new players to build ur castle and army up

@@Anail_Mhin You need not to be a pirate, if you have original cd bought from store with your money, just insert the cd in cd player in pc or laptop and install free open source emulator which is legal and it comes with its own bios again legal open source software. Just select run from cd and enjoy! There is always a right way and a wrong way, like download iso and other bios from pirate sites then be sure to call them a pirate. Don't argue with me if you don't have knowlege of open source and its legal rights.

Don't know if you used "Snake" in reference to Metal Gear games. But it's funny to watch the hero flee a collapsing castle with that name because if I remember correctly that's what happened in most games in the Metal Gear series (replace medieval castle with a modern base.)

I hope that more kids now a days and in the future get to find games like these early on and experience them. I wasn't born when they were coming out, but I still picked up games like Suikoden, Final Fantasy, and especially Chrono Trigger.

Fun fact: Jillia isn't really dead, au contraire to what Jowy might say, she fled and is living elsewhere. Meaning if anyone found her, wanted her to be queen and restore Highland, they could possibly do so. Would make an interesting plot twist for a future Suikoden installment. Konami is now refocusing on their games again, which is a shocker. Never thought this series would return from the dead, but here we are.
This game will still be perfect and playable when yet to be released games are long forgotten
25:04 Weird, my version if this is just an infinite loop of Jowy trying to give me the Black Sword. What did I do wrong? I think I completed all the requirements for the good ending but for some reason, I couldn't get it:
- Completed all 108 Stars before Leknaat gave me the Forgiver Sign.
- Nanami's defense/protect is above 130.
- Dr. Huan requested Shu's presence in Nanami's supposed death.
- I kept defending on the duel vs Jowy. He can damage me till I get only 20% of my HP left, btw!
Did I miss something?
Did you already click the dialog before nanami getting shot by arrow?
Her defense doesn't matter, Nanami has to be kept alive by selecting either choices before she gets shot, the time frame is extremely short, like half a second

😭😭😭 Im so happy that I bought this game when I was 10 or 12 i guess (im actually going to buy resident evil 3). Never remember if i finished it but I remember the scene where nanami die (sniff). Then try to download and play again in my laptop and finished today with good ending (took me 5 times to have the best ending). And i cried because at the very last moment the three finally together and continue their journey. Im happy that you become part of my childhood mao (riou) nanami and jowy 😘 and saw flik again ❤️

this is an ideal ending hahaha funny, I saw someone mention about realism ending. Yeah, it's logical. But this ending gives u hope and love. Cheesy? maybe. But because these two really rare in life, that makes Suikoden II beautiful, makes how great the protagonist is. We called it a dream, and I dont think we need a too much realistic game. We already have that 'real' life afterall.

Suikoden 2 will always hold a special place in my heart. The last boss battle and perfect ending are truly epic! I agree, we definitely need some new Suikoden games to continue this amazing series. Who else is hoping for a comeback? 🌟

suikoden 2 is the best, but hopefully we will be blessed with a new suikoden in the future. Hopefully they do the stories like they USED to.

So what happens if you actually fight Jowy instead of just defending?
Jowy will die definitely, both of the three would never embark a journey as Riou becoming president of new Republic and he never knew that actually Nanami survived the injury.
The big moment in the ending for me was seeing that Jowy had secured the lives of Jillia and Pilika. While during the story it seems like Jowy is just using her, this seems to give enough of a hint that he perhaps held a soft spot for her in return.
He had a crush on Jillia when they were young. They also had scenes in Suikogaiden. And an art shows he reunited with them and he cut his hair short.

Most people who say that God of War (2018) is an achievement in video game storytelling have no idea how far behind the west has been in things like this.
