Can you hear yourself talking and can't you see how silly it sounds? Why do we all have to take extreme measures such as the one to talking about? People shouldn't have to live like that
I am in a hotel right now. For the last week I felt something was off. Like, I was being watched. I looked everywhere and there are so many things that could be a camera. There are three smoke detectors and the one right above my bed looks very different than the other two. The two ones that match keep flashing a red light, the one that is different, doesn't flash a light but has a green light in it when u look closely. Anyone know what that is?
Yea also if there's one In a toilet there could be screws hidden ing the carma in side them its very rare but like trust me I seen cameras in screws so cover it with tape
It needs to become the new norm that cleaning staff will do sweeps with a spyware tool $40-$200 in common areas - would add no more than a couple minutes to a cleaning routine.
Airbnb rentals would be more of a concern than hotels honestly. I've worked in the hotel business for a number of years and if anything I'd say be more concerned about how "clean" your room actually is. There's no guarantee the pillows you sleep on, or the blankets tucked onto your beds aren't washed after each checkout, and with plenty of hotels likely understaffed they're more than certainly cleaning (and inspecting) rooms quick rather than thoroughly in order to keep up with demand.
Yup, I also worked in a hotel and cleaning is more of a priority at this point than cameras. Cameras could definitely happen but the likelihood is still pretty low. Our hotel cleaning staff was pretty good but it just takes someone tired or being short staffed and corners will be cut. People need to think of how they are at work or their coworkers and remember cleaning staff are just people too.
True. Most of us don’t have the device they showed at the end to use to spot the cameras. I wouldn’t know what to look for. They needed to show close ups of the actual cameras as well as what they looked like when hidden.
@@lauriewu-jf5nh That's my problem. Give me the name of the product and/or the company that makes it. I need something to type into a search bar to find it. This video didn't give me enough information to know what to look for if I wanted to purchase one.

This is why alot of people own campers and I even know a few who sleep in cars like SUVs on longer runs. They convert the whole back, put mesh screens on windows and sleep in well lit lots. Everything costs waaaay too much for them to mess up business by planting cameras but I assure you, they do.

There's not really a difference. Anyone who booked a room or an airbnb before you could have placed cameras there. Doesn't matter if it's an airbnb or a hotel. A room is a room.
I wasn't able to find the one they had, but I was able to find one that's kinda similar. It's called the SELOWEA Hidden Camera Detector. It's square and looks like it does the same thing. It is more expensive though.
@@saratemp790 I wonder if that's all those detectors are finding?......something that reflects and may be a possible lens. Would be nice to learn exactly how they work.
Camera "detectors" only work on cameras that have night vision using infrared light. Night vision involves the camera lighting up the room with infrared, which the camera can see and record as black and white. That's why, in any test that they choose to show with these devices, they miss some, because the ones they miss do not have night vision. The little "lens" just changes the frequency of light from infrared to visible red. But, of course, can only do that if the camera has its night vision light on.
Ugh! Another thing to worry about! I wish they said the name of the exact one they demonstrate here. There are hundreds with varying reviews, and so many reviews are fake.

Usually, tourists and travelers are too tired from their long haul flight to even have the time and energy to search their hotel rooms a couple of hours before showering or sleeping. Why not put up an international security or certification company that would regularly audit and certify these hotels as hidden camera-safe and put that out in Expedia or travel sites or something. Any hotel that fails should be shut down.
I absolutely despise people for this reason. It is however a great way to make people shower less and to make me abstain from any intimate relationships! 😂😊
Whenever in someone elses house, a hotel, an air bnb or just generally anywhere outside my house I assume I don't have full privacy. Doesn't mean I would be okay with it being plastered on the internet but I definitely modify my behaviour.

These cameras need to be regulated and steep penalties enforced. You can never be safe with things like this.
I grew up in an age of no internet, no cable tv, no hidden cameras. Life was a lot simpler.
There's no absolute way to confirm unless you get a professional who will sweep/scan the entire room. There could be cameras behind mirrors too.
Cover mirrors with towels.
