Around the 12:20 mark you mention the diet and optimization over the years but much like other cases of slavery through out the world I'm akin to believe this did not apply to them. What these slave fighters were being fed was probably chosen based upon cheapness and excess of supply. Even the legionaries would eat meat and cheese on the march and had their dehydrated grains stored in their packs for survival situations since it held so long. That's not to dispute the beans and barley adding fat and fat with muscle creating a certain combat body type but how much can we say was similar between the actual soldier and the slave? Does that bean and barely quote even apply to gladiators?
Interesting

Why not stand and indicate the various gladiators with a pointer?
