Invasive species are arguably the number 2 reason for biodiversity loss next to habitat loss. But that doesn't necessarily mean they are bad animals or plants. Everything on Earth serves a purpose in the ecosystem.

I've studied this for twenty years. There is no such thing as an invasive species. ❤ The idea of the "balance" of nature is a little antiquated though, and easy to disprove... also *we* are nature.... so any act of introduction is also an act of nature.... the so-called "native" species whi cant adapt to new-comers were on their way out one way or another, and the new-comers are just ensuring the optimal health of the greater ecosystem by ushering in the local extinction of the plants and animals and others who are no longer well-suited to that ecosystem. ❤ None of the species "get out of control".... it's called an "outbreak" and given enough time, it will integrate. Most of them aren't just not harmless... they're incredibly beneficial! They don't cause ecological problems! Humans do!! But again- everything we do is natural... so we are like a natrual disaster and the "invasives" are like the clean up crew, the wound healing crew and the regenerating crew..... we have had it ALL wrong.
