- Very ancient house in Haklady village of Kundapura Tq. More than 18 films were shoted here. Uthsav, Hindi film, several Kannada and Malayalam films were also shoted here. Films acted by Shankarnag, Rekha, Neenaguptha, Shivarajkumar, Ramesh, Ananthnag, Ambareesh, Vijayraghavendra, Mohanlal, Mummatti were also shoted in this house. Sri G.V. Iyer was here for several days to shoot his serial Krishnavathara. Ramanand Sagar of Ramayana serial had shoted his some other serial here. But this house is to be renovated immediately.

ಈ ಮನೆಯ ಜೀರ್ಣೋದ್ಧಾರ ಆಗಬೇಕು.ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೆ.ಹಸ್ತಶಿಲ್ಪದ ಶಿಲ್ಪಿ ವೈಜನಾಥ್ ಶೆಣೈ ಅವರು ಇರಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು ಅನ್ನಿಸುತ್ತೆ.
ಈ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಇಂಥಾ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸ ಮಾಡೋದೇ ಬಹಳ ಕಷ್ಟ.ಇದಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬಹಳ ಹಣ ಬೇಕು ಸುಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು. ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಮನೆಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹಣ ತೆಗೆದಿಟ್ಟು,ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ರೆನವೇಟ್ ಮಾಡಿಸ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ,ಮನೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.ಈಗ ಅರ್ಧ ಕೋಟಿ ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಸ್ಥಿರ ರೂಪಕ್ಕೆ ತರೋದು ಕಷ್ಟವಿದೆ.

I had fair idea of the people lived here in this house. It was a great family and were land lords. Because of land reforms in 70s lands were lost.
I pray God that they will be successful in retaining this asset in good condition.

Govt is not for us (any govt), its only for appeasement of other classes by taking our hard earned money (even our temple hundi money is used the same way). If the funds from 10 temples (mujra ilake) start donating the hundi money for a year we can easily save this house.

Thanks for posting this video. Had heard about Halsanadu Karnathru from my mother(who was from Gangoli), as being rich & well known family. Don't know exactly whether its about the same house. Some one from the family used to be a astrologer as well. Any way , thanks again for your effort and the current family members who looks after this monumental house. We have 100 year old house in our village in Bagalkote district. Which is somewhat similar to this. It is smaller though with 8 rooms.
