  • This is a review on Bosch 18V Professional 165mm Cordless Circular Saw GKS 18V 57-2.
I was surprised with how nice the saw felt, when I first unboxed it, but upon a few tests in the real world, I realised that bosch were forgetting one major thing with this saw, which could have made it a great saw.

The stock blade on this one kind of stinks too. I’ve noticed a big improvement when I swapped over to a Makita blade

You just need a ProCore 8 battery. That will handle it fine 😁

I wonder if it would fare better with a ProCore battery with 5.5 Ah or larger - demanding tools like circular saws, concrete drills (rotary hammers) and angle grinders usually performs better with those batteries. Oh, and just get the 8 Ah, as it's the same weight and size as the 5.5 Ah battery.

Rafter hook is available but it is an extra.

You can buy a rafter hook attachment and a rip fence kit for about 20 bucks from Bosch in the US

True rafter hook is missing on the saw in the scope of supply. It is optional unfortunately.

Higher current battery might help but it might be something to do with anti kickback protection system if it senses it's binding up
