That is an awesome tip with so much more control. Going to save me so much time and improve the quality of the skin. Thanks for sharing. Love the lighting direction options with subtle amounts on building up the texture. 👍🏼
As usual you have addressed one of the little problems in my life. The simple explanations of fantastic. Please continue with these videos, especially the ones about little used, but, useful tools.
Hi Jesus: I have enjoyed several of your tutorials and wanted to thank you. I ran into a snag on this tutorial. I am running the latest version of Photoshop and after I converted the layer to a Smart Object, I was unable to open the Filter Gallery. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you. Gary
Out of all the videos I watch for retouching you are the most articulate and also I guess it’s just this calmness of your voice I understand it. Thank you so much I definitely subscribed
Nice one, but why not use: fill 50% grey > convert to smart object > add noise > gaussian blur > emboss. so you can set the angle of light more accurate and see edits of each step while fixing. Plus it works faster than via 'filter gallery' 🤷🏼♂️
Because if he did like this it will be copied video ;D Other big photoshop youtuber did yesterday video about that xD so typical one photoshop youtuber did something and others copy his idea for video :(
@@romeosoroka I don't know how many photoshop youtubers do you watch but you can see this evenement when one of them will add video about something after 1/2 days others 2/3 photoshop youtubers will add the same/similar video tutorial xD It's sometimes so annoying when they are copying someone idea ;D
So what if other channels “copy”. They may have different subscribers that would miss the info. Videos like this are for instructural purposes. They are simply sharing information. I’ve never heard any of them claim they created the technique they are instructing. Viva RUclipsrs that share instructural content, they have taught me how to use a dslr camera, use photo shop proficiently and now they are teaching me how to watercolor.

Will the 50% grey be a good idea for darker skin complexions? When I did it on one of my images, it look like skin rash as the client had prior to me editing the image.
A small extra tip, you can make many patches of this filter and warp them with the warp tool to line up with the curves of the area you are adding texture to make it even beter!
@@henryhill3838 Theres really no video doing this, its something i figured out myself. but basically make a new layer, fill with gray and do the texturising thing. once thats done just sellect an area on the new layer a bit bigger than the piece of skin you want to warp it into with the marquee tool. then ctrl+T and right click sellected area and sellect warp from the dropdown list.u
Boom Bro😍...this technique was no one teaching me ....you taught me 😍😍😍....Now i can say i am a retoucher from now .. because in retouching i lost all texture....now i have got the point
Thank you for this. You always throw us a bonus with pointing out additional options that one doesnt know. Who would had ever thought you can load textures in that option. Wow, thanks. Hopefully you can do a tutorial on how to remedy banding effect when using gradients. Its been tricky. Thanks.
Question: At ~1:53, you mention that we could also load a previously-saved custom texture from the Texturizer sub-panel fly-out menu. Would you please show us how to create and save custom textures, or refer us to the tutorial where you have already done so? Thank you, Jesùs!
Hi, Jesús, amazing tutorial. About the custom textures: how do I make these? Are they images? If so, how can the filter change the direction of the lighting? Or are they 3D files? I hope you see this and can shed some light on my question. Maybe you’ve made -or known of- a tutorial on how to make custom textures? Thank you!
this was a great help !!! just did a shoot and the model and a gigantic bruise from MMA fighting. This allowed me to better 'shop' the flaw out .. thanks man
THIS IS THE TYPE OF TUTORIALS WE NEED. PERFECT!
You and Piximperfect are life savers.
I love this technique better than the frequency separation. Looks easier and more realistic. Thanks for making this tutorial.
Photoshop gas come a long way since PS5, and by far what I hv seen , you have the best tips and tricks. Thanks n Merry Christmas
Excellent video and technique. Just needs to clarify the 8-bit image issue. Thanks!
THEE ONLY THING THAT MUST BE REMEMBERED IS - you MUST BE in 8 bit mode to use those texture filters.
Thank you for a great tutorial
I was upset about lost skin texture in photos but this seems to be a good solution. Thank you for sharing this. Appreciate it.

Followed you tutorial which was simple and informative. Did not get it on the first attempt but anything good is worth a second try...Thanks

Great technique to use, but in High Resoultion Images touching with this method looks a bit rough in Digital Image. How this can be improved?
Some say this for hours!!!
You did this for 3 mins!

Hi! Thank you so much for this video. Is photoshop as effective on an iPad as it is on a laptop? Please let me know! Thank you !

Muito boa suas dicas, aprendo cada vez mais. Grato por seus ensinamentos.
Thank you, Carlos Sousa Oficiall!
Thank you so much for such a brief and workable tutorial, keep making videos like this.
That's cool! If we want to add a texture to use in that same filter gallery (ex. leather instead of sandstone) how do we do that?
Cindy Kruger see from 1:45 in the video. There’s a drop down menu just to the right of the texture name box, to allow uploading.
Спасибо вам большое😘

after making the changes, do we have to merge layers to save?
No. Never merge. Go to File > Export > Export As and save as a JPG or whatever you need.
Thank you so much♥♥

Trial and error. See what matches your image. Start with the values given here an go from there.

Seus vídeos são ótimos e bem didáticos. Me ajudam muito com meu processamento digital. Gratidão!
Wow. Its very usefull sir. Thanks
Is it me or it only works with 8bit files? because I can't get the filter gallery while using a 16bit file
That is correct. No Filter Gallery in 16 bit
I like it very much!
Great video thanks

Filter gallery only works with 8bit image, could this be used with a 16-bit image or is there a better way for 16bit image
I came across the same issues
Save another copy, open it, convert to 8 bit, apply the filter, select all, copy to the other in 16-bit.
This was the best way ever Jesu
Amazing, thank you.

You're welcome, Lórien! Basically, you can use any PSD as a texture. It will use the luminosity of the image as reference for the texture.
Thanks, Jesùs! I wonder if a Seamless Pattern would provide a good custom texture? (Not for skin simulation, of course!) 😊
great man
