Hey Katie how can I get in contact with you

Hi katie i did msc nursing just came to Canada. Do u help in finding suitable job
I’ve seen a couple posting lately for this job and searched RUclips to see what this job entails. I’m in pre-nursing right now and thought this might make a great job entry job in till than. Glad you posted this video !! ❤️
I'm a CNA and I'm looking into becoming a unit clerk. I applied for a job at novant (they didn't require secretary experience) but I haven't heard anything back. I'm just burnt out from being a CNA. Thanks for answering that question about being a fast typist. I'm pretty slow and that was my main concern.
@Our Noisey Crew what is the pay 💴 like for the U S position.
@Our Noisey Crew ok thank you.
I found this to prepare for an interview as an ER Unit Secretary! This was super helpful!
Did you get the job?
@@blackcats9829 I didn’t get that one but I work as a Unit Sec in Maternal Child and the NICU rn!
Same girl same
Do you go to school for this or how you get started am interested
Have been working as a Unit sec/ward clerk for 5 months now. It is an amazing role and interesting. I work in the ICU, 5 days a week and somedays I don't have time for lunch. The pharmacy, Lab runs, calls and Inventory control all in one. The ICU is always busy and I'm loving it despite the workload. Will make a video soon.
Please make a video, I am starting on Monday I am only 20 I have no experience I am just a second year nursing student and I am so terrified and I feel under qualified
@@ebonyn9161 You don't need to be. I got the role without any nursing background. My previous work was in retail pharmacy. It's my first time working in a hospital.
Just open your mind and learn. It's a nice job, especially if you are working with cool people.
@@kindpaThy thank you so much that helps a lot!!
I just got hired today as a Unit Secretary/Nurse Support Tech at a 70 bed Orthopedic hospital in the float pool. I start next month.Your videos are very informative, thanks alot.
Congratulations!👏🏾❤️
How are you liking it so far?
Thank you for sharing! How long did it take for you to get the hang of being a unit Secretary? What are some tips on certain mistakes to avoid?
thank you so much i start my job as a PCT newbie on the 28th and this video just allowed me to picture myself in this very spot thank you really informative and inspiring
I’m taking my health unit coordinator class online next month hopefully I can get a job in the hospital once I’ve completed the online schooling program! I’m so excited!
I've been looking for a unit clerk course myself. May I ask where online are you taking it from?
Thank u... u actually showed what u actually do awesome. Hopefully I get the job
Thanks for sharing! I never knew what a Unit Security did.
I never started yet I got hired Last week I am Waiting for my training .Thanks for your help
Thank you for your service!!
Thank you for showing the anxiety while sitting in the car lol I work 5 on 7 off when I come back its almost like first day again lol
Girl same! Social anxiety be whuppin my ass. How do you deal with coworkers having social anxiety?
omg I'm here thinking that job would give me anxiety then she gets chest pains like yeah I felt that toy core
Yoo thank you Charli! Just going to have my assistant medical secretary interview tomorrow, your video really helped! Thank you
This video made me feel much better, I recently just got hired for US burn/trauma department..i’m very excited but also nervous
Congrats and Good luck !
I’m so glad i found your channel because I’m in the Air Force too! 😩 I’m AD but looking into starting school & I dont know where to start or how to balance my schedule with any courses (or hands on training I should say) that may come up with getting my degree.
Tierra Ellis Active duty👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you for your service ma’am! I would definitely go check out your education and training squadron. I’m talking to them soon to get more info so I can make a video about college in the military. My experience is so different being in the reserves. So proud of you for being active duty and trying to further your education!❤️
Charli I appreciate it & thank you for your service as well ma’am! I was planning on going to them but the unexpected happened with this virus! I dont want to wait but it’s better late than never. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for that video & any other future videos! Thank you for your response!!
For all unit secretaries! What job experience did you have before becoming Unit secretary? What educacional background? Help a girl out!!
I’m starting a position for unit secretary in the critical care unit , I’m so nervous cause I don’t know what to expect , I’ve never worked in a hospital 😬
Gaelle Kercy Future Nurse thank you , I know working ina hospital is a whole different world ... Lol
Hey girl! How is it going?? I’m sure you are doing great!!
Charli hey , haven’t started yet ... I suppose to start April 6th but hr said the orientation might be cancelled due to the coronavirus, they haven’t decided yet ...
Yas_Nicole88 Thats terrible 😭
Charli ugh im starting the 13th 😩
Your eye makeup looks pretty!!
So I consider myself as a introvert... but I’m looking into becoming a US. Do you work alone most of the time? And do you come in alot of contact with patients?
Maya L The only time I really come in contact with patients as a unit secretary is if someone comes up to the nurses station and wants me to go find the nurse for them or if they want coffee or something.
@@CharliEdwards is this job similar to a medical office administration?
@@dayanaruiz6680 that's what I'm currently wondering as well
@@CharliEdwards want coffee? so you get the nurses their coffee?
The way you responded to tea is exactly what I do 😂😂😂😂
I just applied for a Unit Secretary night shift position and I hope I get it. Thank you for sharing.
I start my position next month in the ER department. I’m excited and terrified at the same time! Is it super difficult/stressful?
Me too 😥
Adriana Reyna as a unit secretary or a PCT?US jobs are a lot less stressful. But then again I don’t work ER or days so I’d have a more chill shift. The real thing that’s going to make a difference is how well you get trained. Don’t be nervous and take lots of notes while they are training you. I still have a long list of things to do at certain times just so I know what I should be doing in case I can’t remember. I like to just stick to my routine. Also if you are talking about unit Secretary, you would have a lot more admissions and discharges than I would so you would have to take that in consideration also.
Charli Sorry, as a unit secretary! But thank you for posting this! It makes me feel a little more confident. Definitely going to be taking lots of notes.
@@adrianareyna2588 I am a US in the ER and it can get pretty insane. I think the most difficult part is being in charge for life flights and transfers - and if I mess those up it could cost the hospital a lot of money. Also learning what nurses do and what they want us to do. Some nurses will want to write vital signs or run their own labs while some want the US to do it. It will take some getting used to for sure!
Adriana Reyna Hello, update me! Have you started yet?
Glad I watched this I thought you just do admin work sitting at the desk. Emails paperwork fax that kind of thing
That’s what most of unit secretaries do.
HI sorry to brother you but is Health Unit Coordinator is Hospital secretary?
Did you do any specific schooling to become a US. I’m going to take medical administrative assisting courses, I would love to become a US.
No it is on the job training
Really on the job training? I'd love that and I'm a veteran
How was the interview process as a unit secretary? What are the questions they ask during interview? I’m having an interview in a few days time
How did you pursue this career? would a certificate as a health unit coordinator/monitor tech get you this kind of career?
I’m watching this video because i start a unit secretary position on October 11th. I’ve had 3 administrative jobs. Before that I worked at gas stations/delis. I like administrative work but for all the people saying you’re thinking about getting certs or going to school I think that’s unnecessary. You just need common sense & follow directions, & interpersonal skills. They will train you on how they do things at their organization. I didn’t even prep for my interview.
No need to waste money. Also I’m not sure what they pay in other states but this position starts off pretty low. They’re paying me less than my previous jobs smh.
What type of experience do you have ? Did you have your health unit coordinator certification?
This was a pretty good video. It gave viewers a good idea as to what a day in the life of a unit clerk is.
Thank you!
How do you like working nights? Do you get use to it? How many hours of sleep do you get in the day? I have an interview and just curious.🙃
Did you have to do any schooling/training or be certified to work the unit secretary position?
Maya Sheffield I didn’t,it all depends
I am currently going through the hiring process right now to be one. Medical terminology is a very important class to have or just prior experience. I also have a few years of college, but no degree.
M240 k thanks.
Hi, Charli. Could you please give me an idea what kind of work is done in ICU as administration officer. This will be my first job in hospital with no experience in this field. I'm so nervous and excited too. Kindly do reply me when you can.
I have a interview floor pct but I would love to do US
Goodluck! I’m going to be uploading more PCT/US tips soon! I thought I would like being a tech more because it would help me see my future in Nursing better but being a secretary at night gives me a lot more downtime so I can actually study for nursing school.
Charli I got an interview as a monitor tech but I’m also going do PCT I like to be more active and do nursing school
Thank you so much for this video ! so helpful . I'm looking into Unit associate position in ICU. Is that the same or similar to Unit Secretary?
I realize this was a year ago, but I was curious how or if you're able to build friendships or rapport with coworkers if you can only work a couple days a week, and/or every other week?
Not that I think building friendships with coworkers is essential but I would say 12 hours is plenty of time to get to know someone.
Good video. You do quite a lot which is cool. And also in the military. This was filmed prior to covid? But I guess you have to sanitize anyway being a hospital. Anyway, keep it up and thank you for your service too 🙂👍
Everything in detail you are doing is what I do as A unit secretary.... any chance do you assign staff assignments? Thats the difficult part for me. Nurses want certain patients very frustrating..
Our charge nurse and I would do that together
I love your video!!!!☺
Joylene Perez I love the fact that she can eat before starting her day at work. Pre-shift snack😂😋
Thank you! ❤️🥰
Dhabi Nuisance ❤️😂
um is this in canada of the us
US
how much does this job pay hourly?
Jar’Kevious Edwards I would Google how much it pays in your area.
Charli do you consider this a fun job?
How do I get training for this position
When u get hire they train you
@@rexluis4832 how would I go about applying?
Girl how you late and only work 2 days😂
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Are you night shift? if so, did you do your training during the day? how long did you do training?? Thank you!
Thank you for watching! I’m night shift. My PCT orientation was on Night Shift but my secretary training was for dayshift. Secretaries do a lot more on days.
I didn’t have a formal training mine was more on the job. They gave me a folder of all the things I need to have checked off. I know most people do it starting off with eight hour shifts but mine started off as regular 12s with a preceptor. It was over when I had everything checked off.
Thank you so much!!
@@CharliEdwards did you go to school for this?
Maya Sanders no
Hey Charlie been watching you for a while also have a question “ what’s it like working as patient care technician?”
Does the same ish as a phlebotomist and CNA basically put together
Hay quá
Sis, I want your job
Is this the same as unit clerk?
Sammantha Guevara yes ma’am!
Do you collect payments
jaymeeification No,Only because I work on
an actual inpatient unit.
Is there an age requirement
that probably depends on the job listing
And is this job hard?
This was very fun to watch and informative, because I thought HUC sat at the nursing station or their desk the entire time, and not knowing all the background work behind their roles (:
I love this video, thank you for informing me with so much information!!Can you do an updated video of how it is with COVID-19?thanks!!
I love videos like this! I'm going to school for radiologic technology, but I'm looking for a job in a hospital before I start my program. It's really helpful seeing someone on the job for me!
You’re lucky I’m just thinking about all the hospital Ice lol
Seeing that sunrise must be feel like heaven💯💯😂😂
Thx for helping me find out more about this career!! (Also, you look so beautiful gurl!!!)
Thank you!
I work in a hospital in radiology (front desk as a Patient Access Rep) but just got hired to be a united secretary on our CVICU floor. I work at a childrens hospital. I'm super excited yet nervous to be starting. I am supposed to start April 20 or May 4th (just depends due to the COVID). But I'll update you on how it goes. thank you for this video it was really helpful!
Pooderella what an awesome job! Thank you so much for watching. That’s one of my goals for 2020 is to get hired by children’s! Make sure to update me ! ❤️
What’s really the difference between patient access rep and unit secretary? Which one has more patient contact?
@@CharliEdwards Hey! Back to update. So I'm in week 3 of my new position as a Unit Secretary. Since "Da Rona" has came through, I haven't been able to experience the full affect of how busy we're going to be. But at the same time it worked in my favor because it gave me time to learn the job. We're slowly picking back up, and I'm keeping up! I've learned to order supplies, not 100% comfortable yet - but hey I'm only in week 3. Everything else is pretty easy. Just trying to learn all the faces of the nurses & doctors in our unit. A lot of walking - especially when you want to help out even when you don't necessarily half to. I'm loving it so far! Luckily, I work with a team of great people.
This gives me some hope, I’m a patient representative at a derm office. I’ve been applying to US jobs, but no responses. I’ll keep trying! Hope things are going well for you girl
Chels 078 thank you so much! Everything is going really well. And yes, there's definitely hope! My supervisor from the area I came from was super awesome and he sent them a recommendation letter & I feel that's what helped me get the position honestly. That's why when they say it's not what you know, it's who you know - that's REAL. Because I had no experience for this position but my old boss told them how I was a quick learner & a great team player and would be a great asset to the team.
U GO GIRL!!!! INTVW TODAY FOR U.S. POSITION!!!! WISH ME LUCK! ALREADY VOLUNTEERED AS THE AIDE 11/2 YRS. GOTTA PREP NOW. THANX!!!!
Shawna Millward Congratulations on getting the interview! Keep me updated! ✨💕
Is your position the same as medical administration assistant?
You remind me so much of the actress Skai Jackson. Great vid! Thanks for sharing!
I’m excited! I’m in healthcare for school right now as HUC and it’s awesome how many different clinics and stuff you can work at!
Is this what you called hospital unit clerk? Can you do a video of the questions in the interview as well?? 😁😁
Thank you for this video Charli🖤🖤 I was hired on as a US... I start on September 14th.. 🙏🏾🙏🏾 I’m super excited but nervous asff😭😭 Your video was really helpful!!😘😘😘
Thank you so much, I’m glad I could help! CONGRATULATIONS!🖤
First I had to do a double take cause I am a unit sec in Virginia and I wear purple too I thought you worked with my my hospital system.
Looks like you do 12hr shifts we only do 8 hour days 7 days a week between the 2 ft 1 or and 1 labor pool
My hospital is small but I still go all over the hospital getting my steps in.
Great video
Ps. How many breaks lunches do u get ? Our 12hr nurses only get 1/2 lunch and that's it
Can I apply for this position with a medical administration assistant?
Great video👍🏾
Starbucks and Taco Bell sounds like a dangerous combination
Lolol!
Wow it’s very interesting 👑🥰coofe it’s good in morning for the brain 😮
it’s terrible to be in Israel 🇮🇱

So I’m an EMT and I applied for a position as an ED Technician but instead they offered me a position of ED Unit clerk and I’m kind of nervous 😬 Thank you so much for your videos❤️
I do have a question! Do you think it’s going to be a lot different with me being in the ED?
Thank you !!!
Thanks for sharing
Nice🎈🎈
Thank you for your video. I wanted to look at other people's experience in these jobs, I found you through someone else that I looked at, and you are connected to the AirForce, A close family member of mine is a retired AirForce. I like your video. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I like the video. You was not always at the desk typing away on reports. I nerd to find a job where I mobile, I took course in the past in basic electronics health records and the cna review plus a have over 10years in customer service experience. Will this be a good job for me.
Hey! I found your video really helpful. I've applied for a Ward Clerk Transcriber position in a Recovery department/area, and I'm both excited and nervous. I want to do a good job since I don't have much experience. Currently, I work as an EVS in a hospital, so I'm familiar with the environment but haven't worked directly with nurses or doctors. The part where you had to communicate with a doctor about a patient made me nervous. Do you have any tips on how to handle that situation or examples of what it would look like? I'm curious to know more.
Regardless, I really enjoyed your video!
Hi! i just got hired as an ER unit coordinator secretary and I am nervous. What should I expect… what can i do to kind of prep myself for the position? I am currently the hospital operator, call center, and hospital code line… i just want to know what to expect and how different it is from my current job thank you!!
Thank you for sharing your work day!!!!
You are so welcome!
Do you need any license or experience to apply as one? I seen some that you just need your high school diploma but I’m scared to apply knowing I’ll probably get rejected 😞
At my hospital as a US you have to watch 28 patients on heart monitors can watch up to 9 fall risk/ seizure precaution patients on camera , call consults & answer the phone its so stressful , you’re basically stuck at the desk the whole time unless on lunch .
Wow,yea that sounds super stressful
Yup that’s me! Exactly!
I do the same thing just started. Very good video!
The chest pains are from the coffee. They have you doing way too much as a Unit Sec.
I’ve learned that it really is my anxiety and stress but I’m sure the coffee didn’t help!
Same here. I get anxiety coming into work. Lol
@@CharliEdwards I am so nervous for unit sec I start Monday, I am 20 years old, I have no experience and I am terrified. Any advice?
do you work everyday? do you work 24 hours? how does that work? LOL no pun attended xD sorry! xD
As a PCA I am sooo bothered when dinamaps don’t have the ability to send the vitals automatically to the patients EHR. That means writing all 9-18 set of vitals and entering them manually😂.
Let’s talk about how epic Epic is compared or not compared to other EHRs though.
Am a retired RN,always got along well with the PCTs and Unit Secretaries. My last 19 years were in Trauma ICU, so when things got crazy they always came through for me. Are you assigned to an Intensive Care Unit?
Loved your video! I’m looking to maybe become a Unit Secretary after my maternity leave ends. I just noticed you’re at flight attendant training. I’m currently a flight attendant at a regional airline!! Good luck, it’s an amazing career. I just can’t continue because it will be too hard with my 3 kids.
really cool video gives me an idea for my next one, I am a unit clerk myself.
Yes I Gotta Interview Thur For HUC ..
Why do you need to jobs?
Unit secretary ❤
