I love watching your videos because I start Monday in school to be an MA and I really want to work at an OBGYN office! So I remember in one of your videos you pointed out that you were wearing some performance joggers that were a similar material, so you don’t necessarily need scrub pants? Just curious because I was gifted some money for scrubs and I know I’m a tad ahead of myself but I went out and bought some scrub material jogger pant at least to wear to school because they won’t have out uniform scrubs for the first two weeks and said we could wear something similar within dress code! I’m super excited and I’m also super nervous 🥰
I just got a MA job (OB/GYN Clinic and all lol) so I think I found the perfect video for me! I start on Monday so maybe this will let me know a bit about what to expect.
Relate to your first two patients! I’m here because I’m going to school to be an MA but wanna work either OB or peds but I had to do a NST because I went into preterm labor at 29w (they stopped it and so from then til I gave birth (34w) I had to do it every week) & then with my second I had to get the Makenna shot because I went into preterm labor with my first baby, I ended up opting out of the Makenna, I only got one and then did more research & decided not to because I figured my preterm labor was more so due to the fact I was malnourished rather than anything else, so I fixed that but also, mine was in my arm not butt, so that’s different I wonder why, but my second came at 40&2 after a membrane sweep without Makenna so that’s awesome 😂
This is so cool! I’m an MA student almost off to my externship and soon after graduation. I have a question, when you first started your job, did you know exactly what to do? It might be a dumb question but I’m just nervous and curious if they show you what to do until you get it ? I’m also thinking of working in a OG-BYN clinic as well :)
I graduated on May 2020 and tomorrow I’ll be exactly one year at my GYN office :) But when I got there my coworkers would show me exactly what you had to do, the steps, instruments you needed, or doctor’s preferences. I’d say it’s important to ask questions and write things down. I learned pretty quickly that way and can safely say I’ve exceeded in my office and will be our clinical lead soon. :)

We have nurse visits as well but MAs don’t do them since most of us are assigned to a provider but we do have LPNs who strictly do nurse visits and telephone encounters. It’s interesting how different areas operate.
Coming from someone who lives in Maine what are the odds of me getting sent home if I become a medical assistant? I've been sent home early a few times at my current job because of low labor. I work at McDonald's in Maine doing maintenance work.
It was cool seeing a day in a life, checking into becoming an CCMA. But something to make you aware of and idk, maybe it’s just y’alls office protocol 🤷🏼♀️ but I have to be honest lol. I was cringing when you weren’t wearing gloves setting up. Because our cell phones can have a lot of bacteria.. there was some research about how a cell phone can have more bacteria than a toilet lol. So, as someone with autoimmune and have had fertility issues... just maybe be more conscious of wearing gloves during set up too. 💗
I think you can bridge from am LPN to an RN if that’s something you would want to do but I don’t think you can bridge from an MA program. That’s for my area at least it may be different for you. If you are planning on continuing I would keep that in mind!
Both MA and LPN can work at doctors’ offices, but MA’s can’t work inpatient as an LPN would. That is something I would have liked to know before getting into MA school but I love it regardless. But if you want to pursue a nursing career, I believe LPN would be the best option between the two, even though both help big time getting to know patient care and the field in general. Good luck!!
I just had a job interview for MA in woman's health but im kinda scared lol idk why but woman's health seems hard? Ive only worked in primary care and gastroenterology
LPN job opportunities will continue to dwindle over time, as more and more nursing positions shift to require candidates with advanced degrees. At this point, it's sort of MA or RN.
@@soleiljolie70 I decided to pursue MA over RN first too! A lot of people disagree but I want to test it out before committing to RN. It’s okay whatever you choose to do! :)
@@waterbottle455 lpn’s are not going nowhere dear it’s a strategy for the schools to get their money. I don’t want yo do bedside nursing that’s why I got my RN to go in management but I didn’t learn nothing new in my RN program being a lpn taught me so much.

This may be a weird questions but I always assumed this job was mainly for people who wanted to become nurses but wanted this type of experience prior to starting their nursing school journey... I guess my question is is this something that people do as their career (is this your career or are you planning on doing something else)? I am considering doing this but didn't know if it's recommended to move up after so long or if this is something I would be able to do long term? Loved this video!!

We all have an autoimmune system
@@dannyb213 yes, but I meant the condition...
Where is your shirt from 😍
One of the girls at the clinic designed it!! I’ll try to get more info for you!!!
I am trying to decide between Medical Assisting and LPN. I think i would like working in a doctors office
You got this! You’ll learn so much!
i graduated from MA schools a couple months ago but soo scared to do my externship i only have until next month to get one 😅
Hi everyone. I would really like to know from others why you would choose Medical Assistant over LPN route?
LPN job opportunities will continue to dwindle over time, as more and more nursing positions shift to require candidates with advanced degrees. At this point, it's sort of MA or RN.
@@waterbottle455 yes I’m going straight to RN instead of LPN. But now I’m considering getting my MA diploma first. 😩
I was a lpn for 3 years just got my RN and I’m only making $2 more and I’m doing the same work here in TN. I don’t want yo do bedside nursing that’s why I got my RN to go in management but I didn’t learn nothing new in my RN program being a lpn taught me so much.
@@waterbottle455 This is not true lol
How long for school Medica assist?and How much acutly pay for finish program? Thank you.Sopie love love.❤
I’m starting classes to become a MA but I’m not sure if i still want to persuade becoming a nurse instead I’m thinking of becoming an ultrasound tech. Any things i should know before deciding what i truly want to become.
I know some ultrasound techs who love it!!
There is an awsome ebook online that details so much, before and after school, certification, job tips, externships, dealing with staff and it has bounses included. Im currently a student and this book has been a God sent! Im ready to get out there and crush now I know what to expect. the book is on my channel so people can access it, the writer is not on youtube and I just want to help spread the work, good luck! it also teaches you how to learn about YOU and what you want out of a career that was the best part for me, and the free guided journal!
i know this is super late! but i’m trying to figure out my life and what i want to be, and what degree did you get for this job? and how many years did it take you?
I got a technical diploma! My program was 9 months including clinicals!

Love your videos! 💗 How long does it usually take to become a medical assistant?
I’m in a program where it take about 6 months and 2 months of internship
This may be a weird questions but I always assumed this job was mainly for people who wanted to become nurses but wanted this type of experience prior to starting their nursing school journey... I guess my question is is this something that people do as their career (is this your career or are you planning on doing something else)? I am considering doing this but didn't know if it's recommended to move up after so long or if this is something I would be able to do long term? Loved this video!!
Great question!! It’s a great job to get your feet wet in the medical field if you plan on going for nursing, although most people I work with (& myself) this is a life long career!
@@SOPHIADANIELLE awesome thank you for your reply! That makes me feel a lot better about considering this field as a life long career!
@@chelseanfoust girl same! I don’t want to go to nursing school... good luck xx
I want to do this but I’m not good with math and typing .😭
There ain’t much math & you can always improve your typing!!
Me @ 7:10: dang. those are some big Q-tips
Any tips for someone just starting as an MA because ill be starting my first ma job soon im super excited and nervous at the same time

This shirt is the best! i work at an OB/GYN office as a MA too and would love to get a shirt like this! Where'd you get it from? :)
I’m honestly not sure! One of my coworkers designed them & then a company made them!
@@SOPHIADANIELLE okay, thanks for the reply! 😊
How far do you have to drive everyday to go to work?
About 15 mins!
I’m going to school for MA now
Nice and educational, thanks. Is that an ADC stethoscope? You're very pretty, best of luck & greetings from South America.
What advice would you give a potential Medical Office assistant
Beautiful white angel
Quick question. How do you know which shot goes where for different medications?
This seems like such a fun job! How is the pay?!?!?!
What's the schedule like for an OB/Gyn MA?
How many days a week you work and hours a day? Is it hard to work in a OB/GYN. I work in a small clinic as a MA and it’s killing me and I hate it. I feel depressed I’m not sure if it’s me that I don’t like it or the place. I just started working as a MA first job. But I feel very overwhelmed and stressed and mad
When I worked in OB I worked 40 hours a week! Towards the end I was leaving by 3 on Fridays though lol
Nice
may i asked questions.. what's the meaning of OB/GYN.. my basic studies nurse assistant programs.. but i don't know about OB/GYN.. whether operational procedure or something maybe ... cause only high school vocational n i don't return on these programs.. many memories on these programs studies.. thanks
I’ve been a cna for 7 years, I went into law school and hated it, soooo I start my ma classes in three weeks.. I’m nervous , is this worth it? I need answers 🥺🥺🥺
It is! Good luck 👍🏻
I love your hair colour
Would you recommend working as a CMA while in nursing school?
I don’t think it would hurt if you can work part time!

How did you get this job?!! I really want to work as an MA in an OBGYN clinic. Any tips?
I had my clinicals during school at the OB clinic so I got hired on!
my certification exams start monday, and i want to work in an obgyn office 🥺 do you have any tips? also, i love your videos!
do you have to do math to figure out how much dosage your giving them in a shot or is it a recommended amount ? jw
It depends. I am 3 yrs Pediatric MA. Is it a recommended amount and it’s already ready. You just put needle and make sure there’s no bubbles. Hope this helps. Good luck 👍🏻
Kim D how do you like pediatrics
Any reason you guys don’t use a vial access cannula when pulling back in a syringe?
Are there jobs as a medical assistant during evening hours? Or is it mostly day work?
By the time I hit 29 weeks we started alternating my thighs in with the Makena shots😂 I was having reactions to the carrier and we had to find new injection sites. Booty hurts less than thighs though!
