It might be a good idea to censor out the dial sounds because some of the information you’re putting in seems pretty sensitive which could be a potential HIPAA violation to be putting on a RUclips video.
I have 3 jobs that I have to choose between. One of them requires calling in rx and getting pre- approvals. I was having a hard time deciding but your video really helped me to eliminate one of them. If being on hold and transferring calls take this long for 1-3 calls I would go crazy. Thanks for doing what you do!
I do calls like this for my elderly mom, special needs brother, and myself! Im physically disabled caused by a work accident years ago. I'm getting pain management soon and hope to get back to the working field again. I'll look into this more. Thank you!
I’m in Credentialing now but have a job offer for medical receptionist position. Your videos have help me decide to go for it 😬 kinda nervous changing jobs after 8 years but I want to give it a try!
When I was intern a few years ago Omg the hold times was crazy long once it was over an hr and 15 minutes before I spoke with someone then lost connection I wanted to cry lol
I just recently started a medical receptionist position at a physical therapy office and today was my first training day. I do front desk and we use WebPT/Okta. New patients, and insurances, scheduling, verifications, weekly patient reports are all so overwhelming haha. I am taking notes though and I will be training for two weeks. Any tips?
@@BellePM i quit and now i work as a insurance rep doing written correspondence & appeals best decision ever!! I don’t think a receptionist job is bad it honestly depends on the office you work for.
My work day all day every day as a authorization and benefits verification person. Im getting burned out though as its only me in a 6 provider office. Thats alot right? Looking for something less busy.
@@c.foreign4912 yes, it has been almost 2 months now and i feel comfortable with the software now, still learning new little things here an f there but i got the basics down.
I could but i feel like it’ll be pretty boring, I normally just do other things like scanning, sending out referrals and submitting for authorizations 🤷🏻♀️
it was hard for me to watch this video, because the receptionist kept playing in her hair it was very distracting, as a professional you have pinned your hair up, and not keep looking into the camera. but other than that I think she did a good job
Quite honestly she’s providing no patient care so the hair isn’t bothering anyone. Also this isn’t really supposed to be an educational video even tho it could serve as that purpose. You are entitled to your opinions just sharing some perspective Mildred :)
I’m starting a new job as a medical receptionist on monday, so nervous!
Yay! Congratulations!! ☺️
You got this girl! Remember it’s all repetitive so you’ll pick it up fast and take lots of notes!
Girl you and I.
Same!!!! I start next Monday.
@maricela93 in the next video call your friend and ask her if she can wash and curl your hairat her house 🏠 in the next video in A 2hr video

wow, i never knew they did this. 99.9 % of the staff I've dealt with always tell me "YOU have to call your insurance"

I quit my medical receptionist job to work for a insurance company lol😂
😂😂
Do you mind giving an update? I don’t want to even start the receptionist job if I know I’m not going to like it or adjust to it

@@TheRealKaay that’s great do what’s best for you. I just quit a job recently as well. I think I will try to give it 90 days it’s for primary care

I work for an insurance company but I want to be a medical receptionist.
Love ur videos, i just started training front desk in a medical center, and the software is ecw, eclinicalworks, is that what you work with also?
Awe, thank you so much! No we use traknet, I believe it’s only for podiatrist.
Ecw is easy to learn, take mini notes
@@c.foreign4912 yes, it has been almost 2 months now and i feel comfortable with the software now, still learning new little things here an f there but i got the basics down.
Good job girly!! I hope you’re enjoying it! ☺️
I just started using eCW and it’s not as bad as I thought. Now learning about the hundreds of insurances is the challenge 🥹
do you need to have a medical related course when applying as med receptionist?
Calling providers seems pretty tedious
Yes, very! Don’t even get me started on the long hold times 🤦🏻♀️
@@maricela93 I can't stand the long holds!!
Right! Especially when your on hold for almost an hour and then it hangs up 😭
@@maricela93 As a parent and patient, baybee! I’ll be over here like, “So my big ass done wasted a whole hour, just to be hung up on?”😆
And have to call back cause you need to get benefits for the patient 🥲
Do you have to know the different types of insurances before you're hired?
Nope, they’ll teach you on the job
I didn’t know them either 🫠
So do you do other task while on hold?
Yes, I take that time to do my referrals or submit for authorizations. You need to be able to multitask
Whats the longest you’ve been on hold for?
Almost 2 hrs 🥹
@@maricela93 Would you be able to do a video of the full hold time? I’m wondering what that’s like.
