    Full titles read: "FALL OF LIMERICK - Scenes in the City after the occupation of National Troops." L/S of soldiers standing in group in the street. L/S of horses with troops sat in the back of carts looking quite withdrawn and fatigued.
    Intertitle reads: "National Forces in possession of Irregular Strongholds." M/S of soldiers standing at the top of a battlement over looking the town, one man is holding a rifle. L/S of rooftop stronghold defended with sandbags and soldier with rifle. L/S of soldiers walking casually out of large hole in the side of a ruined building, one soldier carries large pick axe.
    Intertitle reads: "Irregulars leave trail of destruction. Not even the Church was spared." L/S's of row of ruined buildings and destroyed church. L/S's of the army marching down the streets and roads.

    This is from the Irish war against the British for Independence right?

      Hi
      No. This was the Irish civil war.
      The War of Independence resulted in a treaty with the UK. In that treaty - Northern Ireland would remain in the UK and the South would have a self governing country (called the Irish Free State).
      The Irish parliament passed the treaty but almost half of the Irish Free State did not support it.
      This led to the Irish Civil War - Anti Treaty against Pro Treaty and Northern Ireland played no real part in it.
      The film shows the anti treaty forces (IRA) being beaten in Limerick by the pro treaty army (the army of the government of the new Irish Free State).
      The IRA anti treaty were strong, around the South and West of Ireland but the government forces gradually defeated them.
      Although quite a short war - it was obviously - quite bloody!
