Personally, and not because I'm from The Netherlands, I find the Friesian horse the most spectacular. It surprised me that they're at the bottom of the list. But nevertheless, I loved looking at all these different beautiful horses.
I'm from the U.S. and it surprised me too that they were at the bottom. I would've put them in the top 3 for sure. I used to take care of some and I felt lucky to be able to touch and even just look at them on a daily basis.
You can't mess with perfection wild Mustangs will always be my favorite When you bond with one of these beautiful animals It will be One of the most Memorable moment of your life
For everyone thinking about owning a pony, let me be the first to tell you, only a few ponies are even-tempered and gentle. Most other ponies, such as Shetlands, are jerks and will bite/kick/jump if you turn your back. But overall, a good worker, just not exactly a children's pet.
I was given a Shetland and 2 other full-size horses when I was 10 years old. I knew little about horses so had to learn fast. I sure had fun with them, but Pepper the little Shetland, while adorable, was a conniving little jerk. He figured out how to break into the feed bin and he’d eat so much he’d be sick. Mischief was his game!
I rarely reply, but what a comment. Horses that have been abused are known to carry such traits and it's our job to love on them all the more. I'm sorry that this has been your experiences and hope that perhaps you have an open to give it another shot through a different lens. They really are amazing and full of love.
I learned to ride on Shetland ponies. Guess us kids were as stubborn as those ponies. Horses wouldn't easily put up with our bad manners. Longer drop to the ground from a horse's back. Respect.
Far too difficult to make a choice of any of the stunningly beautiful horses and I have found them all incredibly intelligent, gentle and eager to please...
Frescian, hands down. My father asked me when I was a child what sort of a horse I would like the best. He suggested a white horse. I said no and then proceeded to describe a Frescian to a tee, not yet knowing of their existence in reality. Imagine my joy to find out that they actually do exist.

@@youllneverknowgorg A Frescian is a very delicate, solid black horse with an S-curl mane and tail. It's a breed that originated in Germany, but has been bred and utilized in parts of North America which are familiar with the breed, for work, show and due to their gentleness working with kids and riding. I just watched a video on the top horse breeds of North America. They spoke of the Frescian early on, perhaps you missed it?
Because of the fresians near extension these horses are severely inbred and have many genetic problems, life altering health issues and more they look ok from afar but when you know what you are looking for and you see their conformation(how they are built) and blood work and pedigree you see how truly ugly they are
The comment made about helicopter tours to view Mustangs was so very wrong. I'm sorry to say they are used to round them up to capture them. A helicopter is terrifying to horses. The info should be factual and this surely isn't.
Yes, and the footage they used was from the management in the Rocky Mountains that round these horses up and makes them trek across long distances (even when the foals are still not fit to do so!). Overall it's terrifying for them and causes band stallions to fight and hurt each other more than necessary. Their reason being to keep the "population" low and sale them in silent auctions. Those that aren't picked for sale have to go a long way to get back home.
@@jannieking9338 a lot of work is going into this management practice. They are a highly invasive, introduced species decimating the landscape. You have two choices: 1. Round up every single one and kill them/sell them 2. Allow some to remain free while managing for herd size in order allow the environment to sustain them. That's it. Those are your only choices. Do you feel bad about the millions and millions of feral hogs killed every year? They breed faster than we can kill them. Kill one female, and every other female in the passel will give birth to 10 or more babies. You want to conserve the environment? You have to deal with the reality.
And I really want a Gypsy horse! I live Draft horses, like Shires, Percherons, Belgiums, Clydesdales, and of course, Gypsys themselves. They were named Gypsy Vanners because they were bred to pull gypsy wagons and circus trains.

in addition to leaving out the Clydesdale, you didn't mention the Peruvian Paso. Its four-beat, lateral gait (paso llano) provides the smoothest ride. It's body moves horizontally, never moving up and down. Truly a unique horse. I'm sure there are others you missed. The horses you showed are all wonderful, but there are some glaring omissions.
Lusitano, Welsh pony, Quarter Horse, Iceland Pony,, Criollo, Camargue Horse, Berber, Black Forest Horse... etcetc... And I also think there are some very disturbing pictures of horses being horribly ridden or treated, which are not so nice to look at. The order of the horses is very personal, everyone has different preferations.
Totally agree! Peruvian Paso and Paso Fino both (I think they're Peruvian Paso is a variation on the Paso Fino). At least in this video they matched the right pictures with the description. I saw one a while back where they were showing pictures of an Arabian while talking about the Friesian.
Just so that you know those Beautiful wild Mustangs are rounded up, and terrorised, by helicopters etc, only to be sold to Canada and Mexico for horsemeat, some die in the process, of being transported! For the US to continue this process is absolutely Shameful!
tragically, their natural habitat is shrinking due to human encroachment. They have to keep the herd size limited for their own health and safety (and they don't have any natural predators in the USA)
Like wild deer, the numbers have to be kept in check , otherwise the land could not sustain the population. Although, many people consider eating horse meat barbaric, since moving to France , I have eaten horse meat burgers, that were perfectly delicious ( like very lean beef/ venison) & I would rather the meat was eaten rather than wasted.
stop it unless you build the fence and repair them for their safety and have the market to sell them and the finances and land with Gates offering more to consume...step up!
Hello how are you doing. I believe you are healthy and also having a nice weather where you are. I live in Virginia and I'm looking for a new friend Ok!
I love them all and agree with others that the Clydesdale is a glaring omission from this list. The Friesian horse is the most beautiful in my opinion, so spectacular if you see them in person. That TROT!❤
But the Clydesdale is still a gorgeous horse. Heavy draft or no. If this is just a beauty contest, the Friesian still gets my vote, even though it's so much more than that.
gypseys have been my favorites since before i can remember. theyre just so magnificent and flowy, and ive always loved draft horses. they get my vote every time
I live in mustang country - and I've never heard of helicopter "tours". What I do know - is that the helicopters are used to round them up for adoption and culling. It terrifies the horses, injures them, and many die in the process (including newborn foals who can't keep up). There are many advocacy groups that protest this regular culling/adoption process done by the Bureau of Land Management of the US. It's barbaric.
@@amberdusk I just can't understand why this happens! With all the large farms acres of land a lot of people have!! Why can't these horses go to people's property!????

Riding horses damages their fragile back muscles. They actually hate people hopping on their backs. Once people stop riding a horse the whole attitude of the horse changes because they realize they're no longer being used. Until then they resent and distrust you.

I was also wondering that

I was waiting and waiting on them as well!!

The Gypsy Vanner is my favorite and not only how they look, it's because of gentle nature. I like all horses. This one is my favorite.
The freisan should be number one definitely in a league off there own gorgeous animals
That Gypsy horse was INCREDIBLY gorgeous! I have NEVER seen it's equal! Oh, to dream...to dream...to dream!
For everyone thinking about owning a pony, let me be the first to tell you, only a few ponies are even-tempered and gentle. Most other ponies, such as Shetlands, are jerks and will bite/kick/jump if you turn your back. But overall, a good worker, just not exactly a children's pet.
This is because people pamper them and do not treat them like horses but toys and do not correct bad behaviour not even knowing horse language.
Mean Shetland ponies are why my grandparents put me on a quarterhorse to learn how to ride. She was calm and sweet.
Respect.
Far too difficult to make a choice of any of the stunningly beautiful horses and I have found them all incredibly intelligent, gentle and eager to please...
love them all impossible to choose just one.
Frescian, hands down. My father asked me when I was a child what sort of a horse I would like the best. He suggested a white horse. I said no and then proceeded to describe a Frescian to a tee, not yet knowing of their existence in reality. Imagine my joy to find out that they actually do exist.
I respect your work mate because, you are pointing people at the right direction. @@sarayeng3220 What has this got to do with horses, unless I'm missing something?????
what the heck is a “frescian”
@@youllneverknowgorg A Frescian is a very delicate, solid black horse with an S-curl mane and tail. It's a breed that originated in Germany, but has been bred and utilized in parts of North America which are familiar with the breed, for work, show and due to their gentleness working with kids and riding.
I just watched a video on the top horse breeds of North America. They spoke of the Frescian early on, perhaps you missed it?
@@andreevaillancourt2177, I think you mean a friesian because a frescian doesn’t exist
I don't understand why the Friesian comes in at 25!! In my opinion and idk what anyone else thinks, this beautiful majestic horse should be #1❤️
Because of the fresians near extension these horses are severely inbred and have many genetic problems, life altering health issues and more they look ok from afar but when you know what you are looking for and you see their conformation(how they are built) and blood work and pedigree you see how truly ugly they are

ALL HORSES ARE BEAUTIFUL! 🥰😍😊
The comment made about helicopter tours to view Mustangs was so very wrong. I'm sorry to say they are used to round them up to capture them. A helicopter is terrifying to horses. The info should be factual and this surely isn't.
Agreed
Yes, and the footage they used was from the management in the Rocky Mountains that round these horses up and makes them trek across long distances (even when the foals are still not fit to do so!). Overall it's terrifying for them and causes band stallions to fight and hurt each other more than necessary. Their reason being to keep the "population" low and sale them in silent auctions. Those that aren't picked for sale have to go a long way to get back home.
Well said. It is sad to see them round up and separate mustang families.
Ur totally right...
@@jannieking9338 a lot of work is going into this management practice. They are a highly invasive, introduced species decimating the landscape. You have two choices:
1. Round up every single one and kill them/sell them

Wow! All of these horses are amazing. Their owners and countries have good reason to be proud. Outstanding! Live long and prosper!
in addition to leaving out the Clydesdale, you didn't mention the Peruvian Paso. Its four-beat, lateral gait (paso llano) provides the smoothest ride. It's body moves horizontally, never moving up and down. Truly a unique horse. I'm sure there are others you missed. The horses you showed are all wonderful, but there are some glaring omissions.
Paso fino
Without a doubt!
@@fairygoth-mother7341 I have seen them on TV. They look fabulous!

Those "TOURS" are torturing the mustangs. They are so scared they often hurt themselves running from the helicopters.
