    Mujuku, from what I understand had her own baby killed by the Silverback. Gorillas get traumatized also, so she is being overprotective with this new baby. All female gorillas let their babies move about, but not too far. Mjukuu is fearful she may lose this baby. Genki, from Kyoto Zoo, had Gentaro taken from her because she was having troubles lactating, and feeding him. Gentaro was hand raised for 10 months and reintroduced into the Troup. So when Genki gave birth to Kintaro, she was overprotective with him, also. She probably felt her baby would get taken again.

    • @AliceMeex
      @AliceMeex Месяц назад +1

      Heb je dat helemaal gevolgd van Genki met Kintaro, Dan heb je waarschijnlijk ook gezien dat Kintaro mocht drinken bij Genki wanneer hij ook maar wilde! Kintaro was GEEN ONDERVOEDE baby en dat is deze baby WEL. Deze baby ZONDER NAAM waarvan ze nog niet eens weten OF HET EEN JONGEN OF EEN MEISJE IS! Als deze baby wil komen drinken DUWT ZE HEM WEG, als hij wil rechtstaan en zij wil het niet DUWT ZE HEM NEER, wil hij 50 cm vooruit trekt ze hem of haar HARDHANDIG AAN EEN ARM OF EEN BEENTJE! Laten we eerlijk zijn....hier klopt toch ergens iets niet met die 🤬

    • @MySkinnydip
      @MySkinnydip Месяц назад +9

      Yes! Genki is the epitome of a mother that can overcome tough situations. She would touch Gentaro thru the bars. But she definitely was not going to let anyone take Kinny. Now he’s a big,athletic boy!😊

    • @MySkinnydip
      @MySkinnydip Месяц назад +10

      @@MzNoemi69 I also read that when they couldn’t revive Tiny out of anesthesia,they made the choice to give the baby back to Mjukuu so she could understand that her baby was gone. That had to have been traumatizing.

    Baby is healthy, mother is protective and kind. There has been fighting between the babies so both moms seem a bit hesitant to let them near each other. Mom is likely smarter and a better mother then most of the clowns screaming here for her to lose her child. Watching gorillas may not be for you. Think about how human mothers would behave if their two month old babies could crawl, climb bite and fight.

    Maybe Mjukuu is concerned that Gernot and Alika will want to play with the babies and her baby is still too small. Baby ‘Kuu is a delicate, slight baby. Also Mjukuu’s baby Tiny was killed by the silverback. I’m sure she has painful feelings about that incident. Baby ‘Kuu is KuuKuu with play energy in this video.

      I can understand that, but there is no one around in this video, but another mother and baby( and a young gorilla) . It's just something just ain't right with this mother 😕 And how in the world did a Silverback back get that close to a baby to kill it by mistake? Most mothers have those babies stuck to them like glue?

    • @charlesmccoy5857
      @charlesmccoy5857 Месяц назад +6

      @@delphine88313 The Silverback actually didn't "kill" Tiny. There was a scuffle and the Silverback was breaking it up. The 7 month old baby was on it's mother's back and was injured (broken arm) when, I assume, that the mother rolled on it. When they operated on the baby to repair the broken arm, they could not revive him after the operation. I don't know all the details, but they said there could possibly have been internal injuries that they weren't aware of. It was a very sad situation.

    Mjukuu isn't really behaving any differently then other gorilla moms with babies little Kuu's age. Mokango's mom Tamidol very rarely puts him down. She's with Lomako's troop and has raised I believe 2 other gorillas if not 3 that are still with her...If anything I find Effie a bit nerveracking with her lack of affection and lax parenting style towards her baby a bit odd to be honest. I believe Mjukuu actually took over raising Effie's son bc she rejected him. I'm hoping that with time she'll pick up more from Mjukuu. Losing Tiny had to have been difficult for Mjukuu and Im sure that she is going to do whatever she can to prevent that from happening again.

      When animals are kept in captivity, it's up to the captors to insure their safety etc. When a mother animal is not taking proper care of her baby it's up to the captors to intervene. Stop this

      She is not going to break his arms and legs. It is perfectly normal for a primate mother to hold her infant this way, especially as the infant is learning to walk and become more mobile. Other gorilla moms do it as well as chimpanzees, orangutans, and bonobos. Primate infants, while small, are born tougher and stronger than human babies. Humans need to stop projecting human emotions on these animals. She's not going to raise her young the way you see fit. She will raise it the way she sees fit as its mother...just as humans do with their own babies. This infant in this video is being fed and taken care of and is hitting its milestones.

It's crazy that humans think we know how a Great Ape should mother their infants. Humans have different mothering/parenting styles, and so do great apes. Just as human babies come in all different weights and heights, so do Great Apes. Just as human babies hit different milestones as individuals, so do Great Apes. We only see short videos of these animals, so we don't know how much she feeds her infant, how much affection, etc., in 24 hours. She may be doing it when it's not captured on camera. And I'm sure, just like human moms, she needs breaks. Humans don't have an infant latching on and/or grasping them 24 hours like Great Apes.
      Some gorilla moms will hand over their infants to other females in their troop, such as older siblings, their mothers (if they are in the same troop), and other females they trust. It's the same with Chimpanzees, Orangutans, and Bonobos. There are some troops where almost all of the females will help raise the young and even some where the Silverback will also help. It also depends on how the infant's mother was raised when she was young. Some primates are hands-on, like human moms, while others are less so. It doesn't make them a "bad" mother. And I love it when they all compare gorilla mothers to Genki or Fredericka. They are fantastic gorilla mothers, should we really be comparing gorillas to each other? We don't like it when we, as humans, are compared with other humans. It's just silly!

    OMG what the hell is she doing, poor baby was hurting, The title says she is going to break him down. Hard to watch. The zoo keepers have to see this or notice baby should weight more

      Oh no! The title is not saying that she is going to break him down. It is saying "breakdown" because this cute little one is was throwing a tantrum after his mother did not allow him to leave her 😊 In fact, Mjukuu is a very loving and caring mother!

      The infant is actually the right size of his age. Just as human babies have different weights so do primates. This infant is well taken care of. A gorilla mother has the right to raise her infant in the way that she sees fit just as humans do. If she doesn't want him wandering away for her then she has the right to stop him by grabbing onto his leg. Primate infants are a lot stronger and tougher than human babies. In no way was she being abusive to him. Just like a human baby he threw a tantrum when he couldn't get to do what he wanted. Human babies do that as well. People seriously need to stop projecting human qualities in these animals. They may share DNA with humans, but they don't share the same human emotions and thoughts since they are animals.

    Muy mala actitud del zoo que se limita a mostrar "un video más" en lugar de hacer algo contra esa madre que lastima tanto a su hijo. Encima mataron a otro bebé????? INADMISIBLE!!!

    After a video recently of Effie and Mjuuku in a scuffle I feared for Effie’s baby getting thrown around and while Effie didn’t seem concerned about her baby Mjuuku shielded hers when the silverback came to sort them out / Effie does seem more intent on her babe this time at least😳💕🫶🏻
