Effie’s last baby, Gernot, was raised by Mjukuu. I’ve seen a couple of videos where it appeared like Mjukuu wanted to pick up Effie’s baby. It seems like Effie is doing what’s necessary, when she feels like it, that’s it. Hopefully as the baby gets older she’ll change and become more loving like Tayari at Taipei zoo did.
Where are her other children she had? Did Mjukuu raise all the others? 🤔I’ve seen some videos that Mjukuu was about to scoop this young one up 👁️
You are right. Effie is doing much better now. Her baby is growing and she becomes more and more loving and caring😊🥰

ONE time is unacceptable! The baby should go to a good gorilla foster mom before something bad happens to him.
Ooo Effie, sometimes you can be a bit mean. I reckon if they were humans, Effie would be the type of mum that expects her kids to go out and get on with it. If they fell over and came to her crying she would tell them to stop whining and go back and play. But there is also alot of tenderness.
Effinetta (the name I call the wee one) is certainly going to be independent strong willed and resilient!
Agreed, well this is the first of three babies that she had an is the first one she’s raising but I notice more an more her deeper bond to him but she’s not the touchy feely mom like the other gorilla mom

What a great mom. Not needy, in charge, tireless in watching her child. People seem to prefer the most unbalanced of gorilla mothers. Kind of amazing.
I'm just curious, in what way is she a good mother, in your opinion? Specifically? What is it that you see that makes you say that? She never watches her child, she's not in charge, she doesn't give a sh!t where the baby is or what he's doing as long as it stays the heck away from her.

Poor baby keeps trying to crawl on his mom to nurse and Effie keeps pushing him off, sometimes even throwing him...close to a stick with prickly things sticking out. I feel bad for the baby, he is such a cutie. He can easily get hurt with the way that she treats him. I wish I could pick him up and play with him. She rejected her last baby and Mjukuu had to raise him. I wouldn't be surprised if she Effie does the same with this baby. She doesn't act like she wants to be his mother.
She HAS rejected this baby. The zoo is probably slipping him bottles here and there, she won't let him near her. I've noticed the baby falling down face first in the wood chips because he's not old enough to be sure-footed. I had the same concerns, he's gonna get hurt, it's inevitable. And it's infuriatingly and painfully obvious that Effie doesn’t give a rat's ass. What are you trying to prove by leaving a baby with a mother with no maternal instincts whatsoever, zoo people? That baby is being neglected, as well as MISTREATED by its mother. Take the baby away from his abuser before he gets seriously hurt or worse. He's being mentally damaged by the hateful thing's abuse now.
You must have watched a different video than this one. Never once did she push him away. Never once!
Hello 👋 Little Baby Gorilla 🦍. He is cute and precious. I would love 😍 to just pick him up and hug 🤗 and play with him. Mother seems to not care about him much she keeps pushing him away. Make I am wrong. But I read were she had two other babies but didn't take care of them this is the first one she has kept. I Pray she becomes more loving and caring to him 😘. I get so upset that the little one gets no attention from her, she is so cold. While the other baby has such a wonderful mom. I wish another momma would have swooped up this baby and cared for it. The little one looks under fed or is he just younger than the other baby? You know the one with the good mom.
Mjukuu is more affectionate mother. Her baby was born on 17 January. Effie's baby is a bit younger (born on 8 February). I can see that Effie has lots of milk and her baby looks more chubby than Mjukuu's baby.🥰🥰

Does the zoo think that because she hasn't killed it (yet) that she's a good mother? That gorilla, for whatever reason and it does not matter, has ZERO maternal instincts and does not want that precious baby. She completely neglects him, pushes him away EVERY time the child tries to come to her. Somebody said she threw her first 2 babies down and rejected them, but because she's supposedly feeding this one, they're letting it stay under her NON-care. I don't believe she's feeding him. I've never seen it, and if she is, then why does she push him away from her every single time he approaches his mother? Zoo people, we're not stupid enough to think she can feed it from a distance. That baby is way too young to be left to its own devices. Don't baby gorillas stick with their mom for the 1st 4 years? She won't give him 40 seconds... Zoo people, this baby is also rejected by Effie, do the right thing and find a kind foster mom.
