Kesses? What does that mean? Now that I seem to have just witnessed the baby KISS mom, at mom's direction, I assume you meant kisses, not kesses. That interaction was incredible. They were literally communicating and baby was following mom's instructions. So sweet. ❤

Mjukuu isn't really behaving any differently then other gorilla moms with babies little Kuu's age. Mokango's mom Tamidol very rarely puts him down. She's with Lomako's troop and has raised I believe 2 other gorillas if not 3 that are still with her...If anything I find Effie a bit nerveracking with her lack of affection and lax parenting style towards her baby a bit odd to be honest. I believe Mjukuu actually took over raising Effie's son bc she rejected him. I'm hoping that with time she'll pick up more from Mjukuu. Losing Tiny had to have been difficult for Mjukuu and Im sure that she is going to do whatever she can to prevent that from happening again.

Hey Zookeepers, NEWSFLASH: Wood chips are SHARP. I'm sick of seeing that baby laying in wood chips while her mother always makes sure she has a blanket under her own hide. I've seen that baby fall face first into the wood chips, I've seen her laying face down in the wood chips when she was a newborn. I'm sick of hearing people praising Effie for her mothering skills just because she sometimes lets her own baby nurse. But the baby must lay in WOOD CHIPS while she nurses, because this paragon of motherhood doesn't hold her own baby! It's pitiful. It's unacceptable. NONE of them should be having to walk/lay in wood chips, but a zoo that can look at that baby laying in sharp edged wood chips constantly and falling into them on a regular basis, and not be bothered by it, doesn't deserve to have gorillas in their possession. In fact, they should be investigated. Has anyone bothered to give the child a name to go by yet? Forcing that little baby who needs love and affection to live with a mother who only views her as a possession and is raising her so unnaturally with no physical contact to speak of, is extremely cruel. Shame on the London Zoo. It takes a trifling piece of sh!t to allow this to go on and on... You should be permanently shut down and barred from having animals in your possession permanently.

Effie seems better, allowing the baby to be closer, but the baby wanted to nurse after napping and is still getting blocked. Hopefully it’s not as often. So precious.

This is so hard to watch that baby clearly needs milk. Dehydration is going on. The baby just falls on his face and is so weak. Mother just pushes the baby down. So sad to watch. Other babies have been given milk when needed. It’s sad to keep showing the mother not caring for their baby.

Awww❣️Li’l Eff is having a lovely feed and a cuddle and smacking his little lips. 🥰 Meanwhile, Baby Kuu is busy climbing and exploring, until mummy insists he stop - briefly - for a snack. 😍I love how Kiburi sits facing the door - nothing is going to disturb his beautiful, peaceful family. ❤ Gernot made me laugh - he takes a very direct approach in getting to know his tiny brother. 😂😂❤ Wonderful video of a lovely family. Awwww - the babies are both starting to take an interest in their family members now. It’s amazing to witness their early experiences in socialisation. The mums are watching closely, but Kiburi is so gentle with Li’l Eff❣️ I’d call that a very successful interaction with daddy. ❤ We’re so lucky to be able to see the babies integrating into the troupe as they grow - it’s absolutely fascinating. ❤ Thank you, videographer! 🙏🤩
