This Dutch side wasn't quite ready for a World Cup anyway, in 1988 the likes of Van Basten were still very young, 23, but in WC 86 they would've been extremely young. Besides, I didn't mind having Belgium in WC 86 as they had a great tournament, their best ever up to that point.

Je ne savais pas que Vandenberg jouait encore en équipe nationale, idem pour Van der elst.
