Second favorite in this video is fixable. I deleted the rubber bushing and used a new spring from Lowes. The spring is as long as the bolt and very strong. The center bolt allows you to delete that 30% deadzone in the pull by tightening it. It is perfect now for the money. I also added washers on both sides of the center rod at the back plate maybe overkill but only a few cents.
05:52 I realize it's not the most amazing piece of equipment, but for less than $50 AUD that thing is pretty good. Had it a few weeks now, and I'm impressed! I've seen things that are 5x the price and are way worse quality.
I agree, these prices are good and with minimal work these can be turned into pretty damn decent units. As you said they are definitely worth the asking price.

Thanks for watching till the end! ;) There is a hall effect sensor mod for the Fanatec Handbrake that I ended up buying and using because my potentiometer ended up reading all over the place at one point. It's like 30-40 bucks so it might be worth it to upgrade rather than buy a new handbrake when it comes time if you like the feel of it. If you would like I can try to find the link on eBay.

Ya, it can be risky but the components are very simple most of the time so as long as the unit kinda works, you can usually tune it to be better with a couple tweaks.

Not sure if you follow my channel but I didn't do any long term testing. This was part of a giveaway, I bought a combination of handbrake and shifters and sent them all over the world as gifts. I only had them for the review and then I sent them out.
Question, what game are you playing for the demo? I bought the 3rd one recently and no play in it at all, so maybe they've improved it, although I haven't got to use it much yet so can't give any real thoughts on it.
I have both of the first 2 handbrakes. The black one had a lot of play in the handle unlike yours, but it was great I thought. I just got the silver one today after ordering it by mistake because the eBay seller said it was a sequential shifter, but it does feel way better than my original black one, but it squeaks a TON. I've sprayed lithium grease all over it to no avail. But I noticed the one you were using doesn't have a nylon plate covering the whole open section of the handbrake. I'm going to take it off tomorrow so I can better see what is exactly creaking. If I pull it quickly , like I usually will, it's a subtle chirp, but still annoying. Definitely going to be an upgrade instead of a return if I can quiet it down. If anyone has tips on stopping the squeak on his first silver example I would appreciate it. It also takes up a ton less space which is great because I'm using a shifter plate with an extension on a heavily modified ART clone cockpit
Did any of these handbrakes come with a clamp option to mount it to a rig. I don't really have the option of bolting in something on my rig as it's not aluminum profile.

I have the same issue you do with the third handbrake because whenever I pull mine fully back it only reads 90%-92% instead of 100% and when I have it near fully back it reads 100% . Is there any way on how to properly fix this issue because I tried calibrating and that had no effect to it sadly.
@@T240_ use DIview. It's free and should allow you to adjust the calibration further. You should be able to set the 90-92 percent as 100 with no issue.

I just got mine yesterday and found that issue with it.

Correct, just wanted to see them in their default setting so people that have no idea about software like that can get an idea of how plug and play each is. ;) I think I might have mentioned you can calibrate then but many will just use it as it comes and be happy. Lol
@@DouglasThompson remember I told you they are crap and hit and miss. If you do get lucky that they actually work, they are allways misaligned, you have to adjust bolts and distance of handle to get rid of empty movement, and then additionally calibrate in software. trash

I have my fanatic shifter mounted to my night stand in the most odd way. I’m using two C clamps from some lamps and the m8 screw clamps into where the lamp sits. I’ll try to find a link to the lamp clamps
I know this might be a lot to ask and you've answered some of my questions before But I was wondering if you could Check and see if the drive hub will let me use A non fanatic Handbreak with the fanatic CSL DD and and an xbox I believe you tried with the pedals and that wont-work but I think you said it only recognizes it as a handbreak so it's possible that maybe I could use a non fantatec handbreak with The drive hub
I believe other handbrakes work such as the Thrustmaster sparco mod, I'm not sure if other will though. The sparco mod doubles as a Sequential as well.

They don't really have names, they are generic and sold by many different websites/distributors. If you look up usb handbrake or simracing handbrake on aliexpress, eBay, Amazon, etc. You will find similar examples.

It was just out of the way of my other gear, i didn't want to dismount anything because at the time I had it as best as I could set it up. It was also easier to record over there because there was less clutter. :)
That's odd...these handbrakes are kind of luck of the draw in terms of quality control from what I gather...I'm sure they will send you a replacement if you contact them
I returned it. The sensor was not steady if you know what I mean when I pulled hand brake it bounces around percent not accurate. I got the fanatec hall effect you recommend off ebay it's now back in stock

Are you opposed to drilling? I'm not aware of any SimRacing specific clamp that works with multiple brands.

They don't have names just generic. Many companies sell them. Your best chance is to lookup "usb handbrakes" on Amazon, eBay, aliexpress, etc.
