19:35 what's funny is that this happens no matter what. the tip it gives is to "tilt the mouse", something that is intentionally impossible for a game to pick up on. in the ps3/360 versions of the game, the tip is to use the middle stick, something that doesnt exist on either controller since there are only two 😂

    • @NovaYoutubesBadly
      @NovaYoutubesBadly 9 месяцев назад +5

It’s also intentional. It’s telling you you could have done something you couldn’t have because it’s unavoidable and playing with your expectation.

The hint about using middle stick is present on PC as well if you play on controller.
The joke doesn't really land when using mouse (despite the hint adapting).

I think you have to remember this game came out in 2009. It was peak at the time. The fighting and sneak mechanics were something not a lot of games had at the time and the story was one of the better ones as far as Batman goes. There really weren't a lot of games back then that could hold a light to this one and this game led a bunch of others to try and replicate it, most which failed. It was also a huge bonus for Batman fans because you were able to see so many different characters just in one game.
As someone else said, the mechanics and story are better in the later games, so I hope that's something you look into in the future.

Batman actually has a couple shap shifters in his rogues gallery. Clayface, and Falseface. The one in the cell there is Clayface. It threw me off the first time I played through the game too at first, but then I put two and two together when he shifted to Gordon.
Arkham City is the next game in the series and by far the best of the games imo. I hope you do try it out. It's a massive improvement on this one as you're not nearly as restricted in terms of locations, and the story is bigger.
Fun Fact: If you get the Riddler trophiesand solve the puzzles in this game the Riddler contacts you to taunt you every so often. Get most of them and Batman triangulates where Riddler is hiding in the city and sends the cops to arrest him.

I really hope you try out Arkham City, this series originated and advanced a lot of cool game mechanics that most comparisons you made in the video got the idea from this game, and as those games made adjustments and improvements to those systems, so did this series. I guess a good comparison of the leap from Asylum to City is liie the leap from the first Assassin's Creed to the second.
ALSO if you do ever play the others, throw batarangs at the teeth next time, they're a little collectible to get extra ability points

The combat is a rhythm based system.
And to do it properly, it requires a gamepad! (Fight me)
    So,
1st move: Choose goon, press in his direction, press punch.
You have the time it takes until that attack connects to choose your next target and attack.
As soon as the punch connects:
2nd move: Goon chosen, press in his direction, press punch.
Or flip, or dodge, or use a gadget. Just line a rhythm game the higher flawless "streak" (well timed attacks that don't miss without getting punched back in return) gets you more points, points mean prizes (XP, health restored)
Once you get it, yes wonderful, it really is violent dancing.

Aaaaaand, if you don't get this down pat you're going to have some frustrating fights in Arkham 2 & 3.
Which absolutely must be played! 🤤🤤🤤

There's actually three more: Arkham City, Arkham Origins, And Arkham Knight. Arkham Origins is kind of like the prequel, but a lot of people consider it the best in terms of boss fights.

There’s technically 5 Arkham games in total. Arkham asylum, city, and knight are the main ones. Origins is a prequel that is and isn’t connected. And origins: Blackgate was originally on the ds and PSP and isn’t canon but I still like it for what it is.

Doesn't take time to learn the combat system, keeps dying and complaining about the combat system. "All you can do is is attack and block". Like wtf? Lol. Complain about the combat but then complain when a boss fight is not all about the combat.
You are overly cynical, don't bother knowing or learning the lore, and talk trash about a game that got almost everything perfect. Being a "modern day" game snob is not attractive.
