Patrick Murphy I'm sorry you were sick, but I'm glad you're over it now! May the bugs stay far away from you in future. :) Edit: Also, probably not the best idea to do a Facts. tasting video immediately after being sick. Some of the things they have you eat... Likely to make you feel bad again! 😛 It's good this round seemed to be mostly palatable.
The Sister Stew is probably my favourite dish inspired by ASOIAF. It's got crabmeat, clams, cod, potatoes, carrots, leeks and barley; all boiled together in a cream sauce with garlic, pepper, a pinch of saffron and served in a hollowed out loaf of black bread. OMFG, heaven!!
Holy shit, I went back and looked in the episode (6x10) and SURE ENOUGH THERE'S DERMOT! :D For those that want to know, it's about 4 minutes from the start of the intro
Where is the rabbit stew from the farm where The Hound and Arya took shelter in? Where is the lemon cake that Sansa really love? Where is Bowl of brown that Flea Bottom people used to eat? Where is the gingerbread and stark bread that Hot Pie baked for Arya? Where is Lamprey Pie that Tyrion ate while he's discussing strategy at Battle of Blackwater Bay? Where is the fermented crab that Ser Davos famous for? How about kidney pie that Old Nan used to cook in Winterfell and also been cooked by Hot Pie?
When I was in college and married my wife, her sister was still a little kid. When she heard I was going hunting that weekend, she got sad about me "killing Bambi". A few weeks later, she came for another visit and gave her some venison jerky I'd made. She lost her mind and from then on, every fall she'd beg me to get another Bambi. Rabbit is amazing and makes an incredible stew with turnips, mushrooms, onions and loads of seasonings. -A boy from Idaho, USA.
I noticed too and I agree the blackface rebellions would be great. The battle of the redgrass field was epic. The only other thing close to it was the rouge Prince vs aemon one eye over the gods eye
You can't live on any meat.... at least cooked. You can on raw meat, depending on what it is (like whale), cuz there are nutrients in the fat. it's really called protein starvation. Its the basics principle of the atkins diet.

3:50 Funny you say that because a writer Douglas Dickson wrote a book on speculative evolution and one of the animals in the book is the Rabbucks witch looks like a dear with the head and tail of a rabbit. So someone already thought of that.
I don't get Game of Thrones from this list except the pigeon, the other things essentially were things people in Medieval times ate. There were certain things they mentioned constantly in the books you should of tried like the Lemon Cakes, Capon and Lamprey Pie. I don't know how easy it would be to get Lampreys but I have cooked Capon (castrated rooster, makes them lazy and fat thus more flavor). I cannot believe that the lemon cakes wouldn't be that hard to make. Ooh you should of done horse sausage too.
Also I had goat (pie) for the first time this year. I had heard it was tough but the way it was prepared it was tender. But it's incredibly rich. I liked it but only in small portions.
I love videos with Dermott, but I would have loved Michael, John, Donal, Ryan, and/or Paul in it. You guys are so funny and I love to watch your videos!
I’ve always wondered where he was and now that I’m catching up with Game of Thrones and I was even looking at the screen but I recognized his voice. I think I’ve watched too much Facts.
Dude, braised pigeon in cider is wonderful, and curry rabbit sooooo good. I've eaten all the animals they mentioned here but haven't had a chance to cook venison or goat yet.
I really love these kinds of try videos. Maybe I'm the only one, but I always end up wondering about the food in some of my favorite videos and TV shows. It's something I'm always looking up on Pinterest ect.
The blue berry pie needs some hwhip creme. love the banter with getting a rabbit and a deer to mating so the off spring would be a deer rabbit or doe rabbit or equivalent of a turducken by stuffing the rabbit carcass inside the deer.
I'd be willing to bet, based on their descriptions, that the rabbit in the video was domestic. Wild tastes completely different. Both are tasty in their own way, though.
I dont think I've ever had like proper deer ribs I've had all the other cuts and known what they where and I've probably had the rib cuts but never had the bone included with the serving
