Yes, used to love their Wild Mouse coasters and the classic monorail that went across the outdoor pool in a figure of eight from memory. Plus the overhead chairlifts; the best period IMO.Remember their flatlets back then too!
Thankyou for sharing am autistic and went last month and found it very stressful getting in 3 attempts to find thr right apartment managed to park out side to drop of luggage but had trouble getting to main car park after very stressful experience and going home early because dad had to go to hospital was very stressful dragging luggage on trolly around the big camp site . DAD is home now and much much better
All very different to how i remembered it. From memory, we stayed in green camp in the old style challet. I remember the mono rail, plus the cable car - looks like that is all gone now. The rides look like they are now on what was the lake. I am sure it still continues to bring great joy to the thousands who visit it.
Again as a EX member of staff(left in 2008) from the largest of the 3 resorts (165 acres), I can tell you the staff work bloody hard under incredible pressure to get it looking that good. On a serious point when you entered Reds and Centre Stage this means I believe you are at that point uninsured on your holiday. When I used to work there I knew if Security or senior managemnet weren't present at the venue this was at my own risk!!! The amount of audio and visual equipment and general venue equipment in there and with no staff in there. To think if something was to happen to you just please consider this you are 'AT YOUR OWN RISK' . No staff stay in there not for there own amusement, the venue is only used at specific times and they are under the impression the place is locked up and secure for a reason and the guests SAFETY. The potential for something to happen is incredible and potentially fatal. Is doing that worth getting more views on a You-Tube video?
Billy Butlins will be turning in his grave. You should have asked a member of staff to show you were they live. 😬🤐🤫 Its been cleaned up since the last time we went.
Smashing video, thank you for uploading. It is a massive shame that the company that owns Butlins never refurbish anything until there is a crisis. Such a contrast between the Lakeside modern chalets and the basic accommodation, but I personally don't think it's worth the extra as the entertainment, swimming, fairground are all the same for everyone, and all you need really is a comfy clean base for sleeping.
yes i remember this in the 70s they had lots of rides even a roller coaster and the old wooden chalets and basic food in the dining room

Should be locked then!!
@@MrSnail999 shouldn't be so bloody nosey then!!
I noticed a lot of cash machines - and you will need them because Butlins is NOT an 'all inclusive' holiday anymore. Everything cost about £7 a go.
I only saw 2.
