Thank you for reacting to Pentatonix again. Mary Did You Know is one of my all time favorites of theirs. I would love to see you react to their Vevo performance of Kiss From A Rose. It is phenomenal! It really shows how their voices have matured like fine wine. 😍
While we've had plenty of team-ups of Kirstie and Mitch over the years, this is one of the few where we've had a team-up of Scott and Avi - it's so good, I really wish there were many more of them! This was the first PTX song I heard where I Kevin sang a solo - and he actually got twice as many solo lines as Kirstie has in the song!
Hey guy!!! Thanks for doing more PTX!!! Love my Pentatonix gang!! Yes, they won The Sing-Off season 3. If you have not already done so, please react to them singing O Holy Night. This one has got to be the best they have ever sounded. Ever!!! It is their latest release and it will definitely have y'all saying Wow!!! So amazing. Just love those guys!!
This song was written by Mark Lowery as part of a Sunday sermon for a church he was speaking at. He wondered what people would ask Mary, if they could have a cup of coffee with her. Mark is a famous Gospel music singer and comedian. Years later her worked with Buddy Green to put music to his words. Give a listen to Voctave (acapella group as well) do this song, featuring Mark Lowery. Nothing like the composer's vision of his work. OMG!!!
I thought Mark Lowry was one of the best members of the Gaither Vocal band.. He has a beautiful voice and is, really funny. This is actually the first PTX song I listened to (with a nudge from my granddaughter). The first time I heard O Come All Ye Faithful, I wasn't sure I liked it or not. But then I remembered it's not 'HOW the song is sung (this was very joyous) the message is still the same. Now I love it. I search for each and every song they've performed. Currently, my favorite is O Holy Night, but I'm sure others will follow. Not that it matters, but I'm 73-years-old and a big fan.
This one makes me cry every time!!! They are so amazing. The Prayer is my favorite from them and their Amazing Grace/The Chains Are Gone is another y'all need to experience!
Before there was Home Free, there was...Pentatonix! This song (at least for me) put them on my map. They are phenomenal! As you know, I am a Home Fry, but do yourselves (and your followers) a huge favor and please react to Pentatonix doing "Silent Night." It was done in one cut, in a church with incredible acoustics. It's like freakin' angels singing. The other one that gets to me is "Run to You." So powerful! Keep up the good work, you two!
For me, their Wall of Sound at the end of this song is absolute perfection. Thank you so much for choosing to react to this song, and for doing it so well.
For me it’s the perfection of Scott wailing out “The praises of the lamb”, and all of them blasting that gorgeous harmony on “lamb”. Spine-tingling to this day.
Perfection. So appropriate for Good Friday. I’ve heard this well over a hundred times, and it never fails to bring the chills and goosebumps. Highly recommend Amazing Grace, The Prayer, O Holy Night and Vevo recording of Kiss From a Rose. All are soul-touching and epic.
Hey guys. Thought I should mention. You Two are one of my very favorite u Tubers. I really enjoy. Your remarks, Your reactions and what you have to say. I love pentatonix I'd love if you would play. Seasons of Love. And listen to Kirstie in this and see how she really goes off in this song..
hmmm... Season 3 of the Sing Off. Mitch, Kirstin and Scott were all 19 when they won. Pentaholics will tell you that we'll listen to their Christmas music all year long.
Kevin’s actually got some solo material where he does everything for the song, instrumental, beatbox, vocals, the whole package. His cover of Down, by Marian Hill, is quite nice if you want to see more of him
Ok, these days I'm an grumpy ol' pagan and a crusty baritone folkie... but musically I STARTED as a high treble soloist in my local church choir. This one gets me and brings back the goosebumps I felt when totally into the moment at a Christmas carol service...
PTX won season 3 of “The Sing Off” Their weekly performances are still on RUclips and are great. They were so young, worked so hard and improved every week. Mitch missed his high school Graduation to be on Show. Kristie and Scott had been to one year of College and Kevin And Avi had graduated college but were also young They won $200,000 cash and a record contract. After show they all moved to L A. Record company didn’t think a Capella could be profitable and dropped them. Them lived frugally on their winnings and Started putting up you Tube videos Scott said they Sang together for hours every single day. Their first tours were state fairs, small clubs When they sold out Madison square Gardens years later. There’s a video of them crying after seeing the marque with their names. They flew in their parents for this one. And video is such a lovely moment
Another version of this song is by Voctave, feat. Mark Lowry. They're considered a capella, but with 11 vocalists, it's a more chorale sound, but they're REALLY good. BTW - the featured singer, Mark, wrote the song.
Thankkks foor getting to this one. Iremember suggesting it aat Christmas time butt you had already chosen oh come oh ye faithful. Too many great songs by them to list
I love Christmas any time of year. If you don't know it, you might enjoy doing a musical theatre number from the musical "Mame". The song is called "Need a Little Christmas".
That has to be my favorite of their songs. Then would be The Prayer, Amazing Grace and Hallelujah and Bohemian Rhapsody. Thanks for going back to them. Glad you got the same reaction that I get when I hear this song. Trisha Yearwood did a wonderful rendition of this song years ago but PTX blew it away
If you want to revisit this song sometime, check out Voctave sing Mary Did You Know with special guest Mark Lowry, who wrote the song. It is a very different arrangement, but also powerful and beautiful. That's Voctave, not Voiceplay. Also, Home Free won The Sing Off the next season after Pentatonix, and Voiceplay was also in that season, but there could only be one winner. Also, Peter Hollens was in a group that competed in The Sing Off, but I don't remember the name of the group nor what season.
Mark Lowry of the Gaither Vocal Band wrote this song. The best Christmas song written in the last 50 years. Some great singers have been in the Gaither Vocal Band ad great examples abound on YT. Check out David Phelps' performance of "O Holy Night" live at Alabama Theater. Amazing.
Both are fantastic singers and both have a wonderful sense of humor. I used to love watching them when they were on TV. My deceased husband got me hooked on country music and the Gaither band.
Other songs that Kevin sings in as well as beatboxes and/or plays cello are 1) Say Something; 2) Michael Jackson Medley; 3) Imagine; 4) Little Drummer Boy; 5) The First Noel; 6) Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone
they do such a good job with these. Amazing as always. You should also watch Home Free's version of this. Different but both wonderful to listen to. The other xmas song from Home Free is Do You Hear What I Hear. I thnk the best arrangement of all their music.
I think this was perfect timing for this song. If you listen to the lyrics, they're singing about things Jesus did during his life and DID she know about them. Singing it in a cave makes it seem to to me, that this would be an Easter song.
Kristy sings with Voctive with their Disney love melodies. Another accapela group. They have 11 singers 5 female and 6 male plus their guests. Another rabbit hole for you.
Mary Did You Know was written and originally recorded by Mark Lowry, a Gospel music artist mostly affiliated with Bill Gaither and company. It's been covered by many artists over that years and this cover is one of the best, in my opinion. I believe Mark commented his approval when the video was first released by Pentatonix. It's always nice to get positive feedback from the original composer. Oh, and they won "The Sing Off", season 3 I think. Home Free won the next season after them.
Great job with your reaction and thoughts on this cover of Mary DiD You Know from The Pentatonix. Good Friday and Happy Easter To you both.l can't remember if you too did a reaction to there cover of imagine from John Lennon if not you should.
I was "burned out" on Christmas music, having worked for a department store for a few years. They played only the "official cd" by the "corporate choir" (cringe)... Since I heard PTX's Little Drummer Boy I listen to all their music, Christmas music included, year round. Kevin shines in his parts in Evolution of Michael Jackson, Sing, and Can't Hold Us.
I can listen to this one any time of the year, but I guess it is technically a Christmas song. It's my #1 fav by them & it's extra special because Kevin also sings, which is rare. And this perfectly highlight each of their talents so very well. Avi's part was small but gorgeous as always. They are all amazing talents.
😊❤ Hi Phil and Sam!! 😅 ? The Sing Off, season 3! Yes, this is a year round song! As you said, each member crushed it! Together they crushed it! After watching this video a gazillion times I have noticed a few things. Towards the end when Mitch sings the line 'the great I AM'. Notice how frickin long Mitch hols the last note! Incredible! And equally as Incredible is Kevin. After he finishes his last note he goes back to beat boxing instantly!! Like if you watch him closely you can't even see him take a breath!! (He does the same thing in 'Kiss From A Rose'). As we Pentaholics say; they are either aliens or angels!! LOL 😂 Luv you guys!! 😊❤❤
And there was a missed year between season 3 and 4 so when Pentatonix does their guest appearance on season 4, it is 2 years (almost) after they won season 3.
This is one of my favorite songs...not just a Christmas song...but perfect timing for Good Friday...love this ✝️🛐✝️🛐✝️
Love this song. The writer sat down one day and thought "if I could meet Mary, what would I ask her?" 💜
Thank you for reacting to Pentatonix again. Mary Did You Know is one of my all time favorites of theirs. I would love to see you react to their Vevo performance of Kiss From A Rose. It is phenomenal! It really shows how their voices have matured like fine wine. 😍
I agree completely with you

Check out their version of "Little Drummer Boy". It's like the common version with an afterburner.
One of their earlier ones, too. It’s still one of my favorites!
It only takes about two seconds to become immersed in their version of this song and begins the delicious PTX chills. What a performance! 🫶🏻✨
Another really great Christmas song of theirs is "Carol of the Bells", filmed outdoors. ❤
Out on Good Friday. Perfect timing!
Hey guys.
Thought I should mention.
You Two are one of my very favorite u Tubers.
I really enjoy.
Your remarks, Your reactions and what you have to say. I love pentatonix
I'd love if you would play.
Seasons of Love.
And listen to Kirstie in this and see how she really goes off in this song..
I think this is beautifully timed for Easter weekend ❤
This is absolutely fantastic, you'll probably enjoy The Prayer, Amazing Grace and numerous others!
This works just as well at Easter as it does at Christmas. Angels wish they could sound this good.
Good choice on a Good Friday!!
They won the sing off, and capella contest
hmmm... Season 3 of the Sing Off. Mitch, Kirstin and Scott were all 19 when they won. Pentaholics will tell you that we'll listen to their Christmas music all year long.

Another surprise solo by Kevin is on Amazing Grace and a little one on Kiss From a Rose (plus he plays his cello). Nice reaction - keep going!

I can't help but wonder what Sony Records thinks now that they're huge and they dropped them.
It doesn't get ANY better than PTX. Goosebumps every single time I hear this masterpiece!!!
Wow-- just wow--
Little drummer boy is my favorite from them. I got to see them in concert. They are amazing!
I really like you guys reaction .

I've listened to Mark singing the song and the comparison between the arrangement is amazing. Two totally different sounds.
Actually I connect this to Easter as well as Christmas so it was perfect that you viewed this at this time of year.
good song for today, good Friday.
If you love fantastic harmonies and incredible voices, you should definitely give a listen to Celtic Woman. They will make you weep they are so good.
This and little drummer boy are my favs of theirs
Honorable mentions to Santa is coming to town and 12 days of Christmas
SING !!! Is another good one
Listen to O holy night and also Kiss from a Rose. 2 of the present day masterpieces
Thankkks foor getting to this one. Iremember suggesting it aat Christmas time butt you had already chosen oh come oh ye faithful. Too many great songs by them to list
You need to check out their version of "Dog Days are Over" that they did on The Sing-Off! Absolute FIRE!
Beautiful!
PTX songs can be listened to anytime lol I was listening to one of their Christmas albums last week 😂
I love Christmas any time of year. If you don't know it, you might enjoy doing a musical theatre number from the musical "Mame". The song is called "Need a Little Christmas".

TX for this. With Xmas songs by Pentatonix have Xmas al year long. We Pentaholics love Pentatonix reactions. Greetings from South Africa
Keep Christ in Christmas
I think this was perfect timing for this song. If you listen to the lyrics, they're singing about things Jesus did during his life and DID she know about them. Singing it in a cave makes it seem to to me, that this would be an Easter song.
Saw them live in concert in December and they did this song. Just angelic!!
This song always gives me chills. PTX are second to none. Saw them Live and it was just entertaining and fun show. They even get the audience involved
You would probably like the Voctav version of this song as well. It features Mark Lowery, the original lyricist of the song.
Home Free lo does an amazing rendition of this.
Kristy sings with Voctive with their Disney love melodies. Another accapela group. They have 11 singers 5 female and 6 male plus their guests. Another rabbit hole for you.
They won the show the sing off
One of my favorite "real" Christmas songs. Peace, Love!!
This is one of my favorite songs ever ❤❤ I cry every single time I hear it. It's just a beautiful song and they sing it so very well ❤❤❤
Guys, if you want to hear the perfect version of this song, watch Voctave featuring Mark Lowry.
Mary Did You Know was written and originally recorded by Mark Lowry, a Gospel music artist mostly affiliated with Bill Gaither and company. The Sing off is the show Pentatonix was on and won
This will remain always in my top 10 PTX favorites ~ Thanks for the great reaction!
Dude, are you a singer ? Cuz your voice is like audio butter. Luv it...
The Sing Off!!!
Great reaction to one of my favorites. Would love to see your reaction to Avi Kaplan's solo music!
I think you would like their song Prayers For This World. It deals with their feelings about the current state of our planet.
Great reaction to a beautiful song! Thanks!
Chills Chills Chills ! My favorite group !!
Sing-off. Glad to see you’re back to Pentatonix but you should probably do more at least monthly, so many songs for you to enjoy
Did you notice how almost every time they show Kirstie she has a halo of light around her?
Gives me chills every time ❤
I can listen to this one any time of the year, but I guess it is technically a Christmas song. It's my #1 fav by them & it's extra special because Kevin also sings, which is rare. And this perfectly highlight each of their talents so very well. Avi's part was small but gorgeous as always. They are all amazing talents.
The sing off!!!
PTX won season 3 of the sing off and in my opinion are by far the best.
The Sing Off and Home Free also came from there
Please react to The Sound of Silence. It’s another amazing song by Pentatonix
Can you imagine how long it takes them to arrange whose voice does which part and how they create the background...amazing ✝️🛐💜🛐✝️

Voctave, another acapella group sings this song with its original writer. You should try them.
Beautiful.
Third season of the Sing Off.
Recommend their live video of Kiss From A Rose.
Kevin lends his tenor vocals to "Amazing Grace."
Of course I leave the holiday wish on a different video and now this one becomes available. LOL
So, once again, to both of you I say Happy Easter.
Happy Easter!
You must react to Amazing Grace by Pentatonix. You wont regret it.
Hello, song class, did you feel goosebumps?
The Sing off !❤
If you liked this song, you should listen to Arise My Love by Newsong.
Believe it was c called The Sing off
You two enjoyed Martina McBride's voice you really should listen to her live version of "where would you be" a much listen
This song for me is more of a Holy Week themed song.
Pentatonix won season 3 of the Sing Off. Home Free won season 4.
Great choice Holy Week . And Easter
And there was a missed year between season 3 and 4 so when Pentatonix does their guest appearance on season 4, it is 2 years (almost) after they won season 3.
Plz listen to either kiss from a rose pentatonix cover it’s live or Amazing grace (my chains are gone) both great amazing covers
