I have to admit, I don't entirely understand why someone would travel so much but look for/expect everything to be English. The point of international travel I believe is to embrace the differences and widen your experiences. Not go to Cyprus and eat egg and chips.
Ask the thousands of British Restaurants. You don't have to eat the local food to see what other parts of the world is like, I've travelled to the far east and eaten a Cockroach on a stick. It didn't make my experience any better, if anything it made it worse!
@@TheMacMasterindeed far eastern cuisine culture pinnacles at a cockroach on a stick ...
It doesn't mean a thing of what one individual desires to eat when travelling.....the same as people visiting the UK for a holiday, or indeed settling in Britain.
I often see individuals asking for restaurants that originated in their place of birth... here in the UK.
Being cultured should not be a reference to what people desire to eat , or perceive that an individual is not trying to interact in the local culture & traditions.
Some people on here are just being very critical for the sake of it.
Cyprus is no different from places like Mallorca, of which I Love..... Beautiful mountains, traditional villages etc.......but that doesn't mean I have to like Magaluf, .......yes it appealed to me many years ago, ..... although I certainly would not choose it now , or anywhere that remotely looks like it.
If some places are concrete Urban messes, then say it as it is, not because you think you need to protect the islands reputation.
Paphos & Magaluf can make as many improvements as they like , but for some people, that will make no difference.
@@TheMacMaster we are not asking for extremes as im sure you did that for a bet or dare i say a laugh, but you spend all your time searching for bad british food , its rare you get one you actually enjoy anyway !!!🙄
Sick English arrogance they are NOTHING just click bait and his puppets
Hiya Lee. I was one of those people who recommended Cyprus but unfortunately you went totally out of season. That’s why so many of the bars and restaurants looked closed down. It’s not like the Canary Islands which are all year round.Come from back between May and November the weather is fantastic and you would see a totally different side to Paphos.
I have a house in Peyia and spend a lot of time over there and the road works, yes they have been going on for 2 to 3 years but it has been in stages throughout Paphos. Not all at once.
If you’re coming to Cyprus please don’t let Lee’s experience cloud your views.
Cyprus is a wonderful place.👍
The island is absolutely stunning
Unfortunately negativity generates views on RUclips. Lee has always been fair and I think once he’s reflected on the trip he will be back, I mean Tenerife is hardly the Bahamas
Spot on 🍺
I definitely feel these Cyprus videos have been misleading. Stunning island with fantastic food, bars, restaurants, shops etc.
Cyprus is an amazing island with equally amazing people , don’t think Lee has done himself any favours with this trip which is sad because in general I enjoy most of his vlogs .
We go every year in October and absolutely love it you are out of season and they are trying to improve for visitors
Normally enjoy watching all your videos Lee. However so disappointed in your Cyprus videos. You haven't filmed 'Cyprus' You have focused entirely on the problems with the resort of Paphos. However, the 1st day's video was sufficient to make the point. As per so many comments you chose to stay around the resort, albeit aside from a very short trip to Limassol. Cyprus has so much more to offer. If you like history, why not visit the archaeological world heritage Roman site, with beautiful mosaics.? It was a 2 min walk from the restaurant where you ate the steak. This latest vlog summed it up for me. Your last day on the island and you chose an English breakfast. You have sadly missed out on so much.
He only focuses on cliches like fish n chips etc and hasn't got the vision to explore anything meaningful.
What do you normally enjoy? He's all about the Lee Anderson style, Daily Mail on RUclips fury at the world. That's his thing.
Well said mate, he's very small minded and very predictable. I just hope folk aren't daft enough to take any notice of what the clown talks about. Judging a seasonal holiday resort out of season, ridiculous 😳
He'll likely go to Magaluf next winter and complain about it being quiet 😂
His taste buds don’t like anything new.
Planning advice: go to a town you don’t like & stay there for almost a week, cancelling the other towns you said you’d visit. Madness!
Cyprus has been 'on the slide' for the last fifteen years. A battered and corrupt euro economy, massive internal manipulation by Russian money, and a never ending stream of poor middle Eastern immigration. A similar journey into Ratshit as the UK has suffered.
I am half Cypriot and lived there 18yrs. You can not put the whole island down because of one place you have been to. Have you travelled to any of the villages across the island? Lefkara? Pyla? Troddos mountains? where they cook only traditional? As for the weather i only ever experienced rain for around 4-6 weeks in the whole year 👍 You have to explore the island far more before knockin it
It is a total travesty that you haven’t bothered to travel to other parts of Cyprus. The Troodos mountains ( pine forests) are amazing. The tomb of President Makarious is a must see. There is an interesting rare type of goat to be seen there too. The far north eastern corner has Aphrodites pool which is amazing. The whole of the north Cyprus coastline especially Kyrenia are a must see. The towns of Larnarca and Famagusta are well worth visiting. Try the beautiful temples along the south coast. It is so sad that the MacMaster does what he always does and gives very shallow click bait reviews which are NO GOOD to anyone. Who the hell cares about snotty eggs. MacMaster please grow up and give your intelligent discerning viewers what they are looking for. You don’t have an automatic right to your viewers. There are far better presented channels which are more worthwhile watching. Don’t waste our time. Last chance!!!
the milkfloat will be flat when you get back
the M25 has been worked on for like 40 years and its still not finished.
We were in Protaras last year and it was great so we were about to book another trip to Cyprus this year but in Paphos. I'm so pleased I saw this video. If I took my family there we would have been extremely disappointed. Thanks for the heads up Lee. x
That woman hovering whilst you're eating could tell you were thinking just pixxoff 😆😆
Thank you for your video, you are a lovely guy, just trying to help people, and you have helped loads of people, there are quite a lot of unhappy people in this world who like to inflict their unhappiness on to other people who seem happy, just keep doing what you are doing and don’t forget to visit scrumptious tea rooms in Urmston 👍x
There's a lot of history you missed in Cyprus
We visited Paphos in August 2021 (my last 'family' holiday) and there wasn't the major roadworks when we were there, but some work on buildings (we thought it was typical new hotels being built). However, 'Bar Street' looked very similar to how it looked on one of your other videos, with loads of empty, seemingly abandoned bars, and that was in Peak Season (August). However at the time, it was the first summer after Covid, so we put it down to that, but seems lots of those places never recovered and came back.
We did enjoy our holiday (at the time), and think part oif your trip has suffered being out of season. But good that you also show these places at different times of year too, so people know what to expect, if they prefer to go when its not full of families with kids.
Onwards, my friend.
Lee enjoyed the video. Nice to see a new place. Not as nice as Perth but its their summer. Looking forward to next video. Have a nice flight home.
The master of click bait.😂

Yes, rather deceptive

Hope you try out Salou this year in Spain, I’m going back out again in 8 weeks, can’t wait! Be great to see you review my fav place
Another great informative video Lee. I feel hungry after watching you eat, even though the egg didn't have a cataract 🤣. Best wishes and safe journey, Bob M. South Wales
The amount of cameras you must go through when you walk off Lee!! Love your stuff keep it coming
(how many will think I’m being serious)
Lee why did you not explore the historical sites wile you was there ,Cyprus has some brilliant history
Speak as you find works the like button for me. If you must go out of season anywhere pick a place that's got something massive going for it already. Then there's another challenge ... peak season hell. I wonder where people who run restaurants in those places go for their holidays?
Love your content Lee , always brilliant videos .. although I did miss you shouting “Yorkshire “ when you had your tea on the plane !
Hard act to follow after Australia liked all vlogs keep up great work cheers
Think you have been fair and honest, well done, onwards to other venues👍✔️
He said the major works were last year renovating the old part and they move on quickly. Holiday destinations usually do all the upgrades during out if season times as to not cause too much disturbance to everyone. Just a thought to consider
Thanks for the video was heading there in july its back to majorca
I cant stand it when im eating and someone starts up a conversation, just leave me to eat please!!!
Cyprus is beautiful. Yes tea for two is fantastic for eats any time & great value. Very friendly. Love it. We lived in Cyprus up in katikas up in the mountains .was sorry we had to return home. Miss Cyprus but,in the summer months was just to hot. Lots of places to go & see & not expensive.
Been to Cyprus a few times, i follow couple RUclipsrs out there, we get shown all the lovely villages they have, and my long standing childhood friend lives in the mountains, love the place
Who knew the builders outside his appartment at 2am were members of the local electric car appreciation society
As it looks right now, some of the seaside areas of the UK would be just as good or better in season, minus the palm trees, of course. I am sure the permanent residents are happy to see you since you help support the local economy. I learned to read the Greek alphabet many years ago and have trouble with the lower case letters. But reading the menus you have posted has been so much fun. The prices at this place are amazingly reasonable.
You came you saw and you went.😂
😂
Is it "pick on Lee" day 😂😂😂
Informative video Lee, didn't look the best there. Building work for nearly 3 years. 😮
Paphos admittedly isn’t the ultimate yardstick to use to give an all round impression of Cyprus as an island. If you’re staying in that part of the island the best experiences in culture and cuisine are found off the beaten track either away from Kato Paphos or Tombs of the Kings Avenue or in the nearby villages that surround Paphos. For true Cypriot cuisine or the best pizza or Italian food in Paphos apart from Ristorante Bacco, it’s a known fact that Gennadios Souvlaki and La Sardegna da Gino next door are the places to be. There is always queues outside for tables, a mixture of locals and holidaymakers mainly and a family oriented feel.
When I was in London and York in 83' scaffolding was up at Elizabeth tower and at a big church in York. But it didn't bring me down lots of other things to see and do.
He did not let the pretty lady come between him and his breakfast
In fairness a lot of places will be closed until at least April.
It's too hot in the summer months to do any building or refurbishments, so it always happens in the low season which tends to be the end of October to the beginning of April.
You'd be amazed how quickly they can get things done, not just in Cyprus, but any of the Greek islands as well. If you went any time after the end of may you would see it in a completely different light. It looks to me that it has come a long way since I last went about 18 years ago. Personally I prefer the Greek islands and have been going to Zakynthos every year for the last 12 or so years.
However, I do want to try Protaras at some point in the not too distant future. I have heard a lot of good things about it.
I have only been to Pathos in Cyprus once , it was my Nices's wedding , not sure of the laws these days but back in 2011 when we attended the wedding , English couples could only get married in the town hall on a Thursday, which fortunately was mine and my twin brothers birthday the Thursday they got married. We had one of the old buses as transport for the wedding party.
Lee is entitled to his opinions, however we will still visit twice a year. We have done the touring around in the past but now prefer a hotel based holiday with pleasant walks along the seafront path each day. Yes there is construction going on to replace the aged drainage and infrastructure, but you can avoid that area. Plus Bar Street was once a bustling place but tastes have changed and it has fallen out of favour, but it is only one street and there are many others to explore. It will eventually be renovated but the authorities are prioritising their works which do seem to be slow progress, however the same was true of the harbour area which is now looking very nice. By the way if you venture away from the harbour restaurants there are some traditional eating places that offer good Cypriot dishes at affordable prices. As a former butcher that steak was never Fillet and grossly overpriced. You could have done much better and shown Cypriot cuisine in a better light than your video did. In saying this if we all liked the same places they would be far too overcrowded and suffer like places in Spain and the Canaries where locals are voicing concerns about too much tourism.
How the feck can an egg yolk be too yellow ? lol
I was going to book going to Cyprus but after watching your video I'm not sure I'll bother now. Thanks for the video its saved me a lot of money. 👍🏻
Been to Cyprus 5 times and most of it is lovely, but I found Paphos the worse, be careful of the black sea urchins as they have massive needles that stick in your foot if you happen to step on one..
I live in Paphos and have done so for a good few years. Please please understand that Cyprus is a great island and I definitely feel that these videos were very negative. In most of the “so called” run down places they are undergoing a massive transformation which every city does, albeit in a different way. There were great places to see had Lee carried on walking that bit further. I felt he purposely focused on the unbuilt/ damaged areas too much. Local cuisine is amazing and plentiful and reasonably priced,if you go to traditional places not the restaurants aimed at the tourists, in fact had Lee chosen to eat at the other end of the harbour away from the marina he would’ve found that out. I’m so disappointed in his views, this is an extremely diverse island.
An interesting fact for you, bananas grow in Paphos but not anywhere else on the island. You should come and see for yourself 😅
Please don't be put off. The rest of Cyprus is great with some amazing beaches. I am sure Paphos will be great when all the work is complete but I think I will certainly stay clear for now.
I wasn’t keen on Cyprus but it was many years ago but hired a jeep and drove up to the Trudos mountains that gets you away from the hustle of the town in peak season.
You are doing an amazing job, I got married in Cyprus and I've had family there and myself and the wife have gave it a couple of chances since and I personally wouldn't waste my money going on holiday there ever again because there are so nany better places to be 🌞
Hi Lee! We were in Paphos last year with a wedding party, staying in a hotel that was more like a prison. When we left the resort our experience was similar to yours - part building site, part tip. Not somewhere we’d rush back to. Your films are absolutely representative of our experience, some nice parts but you really have to seek them out. Would we return? Nope.
Hi Lee absolutely love your videos and also loved this Cyprus vlogs lol it's hilarious that couple you were talking about I wish they were on camera 😂😂 mardy git oh well onwards for you and keep up the great work 😊👍🏽 much love from Leicester
Paphos is in such a state because the Russian money left
That’s interesting someone we know had a bar in aya napa large Russian men used to call late at night they were creepy
I've never been to Paphos but I have to say fig tree bay at Protaras is a beautiful beach, and places like Famagusta are well worth finding out about, visiting the ghost town etc. MYne you should check those places out as a comparison 😀
Go to Corfu and do a boat trip to Paxos & Antipaxos. By far 1 of my best destinations in Europe.
It’s good you doing this to be honest gives a picture of what it’s really like 👍
Great video thank you
I have put many off from going hopefully after this video. I shared it with them. Thanks for advance warning. Good video.
Thank you for the PSA on this rather unsavory place. PJ O'Rourke would be proud of you.
Malta I find is more interesting both as a tourist point of view and if you are into old cars. You find a fair few classic vehicles from the 1950's-1990's around the back streets and on the main roads. When myself and my brother visited in 2018 it was around the end of September just before the season ended.
old cars in malta , ok , as for the rest of malta, a large building site that starts work at six in the morning , constant church bells , filthy streets , and if you dont like rabbit , awfull food , went once , never again
Brilliant interview on Talk Tv today Lee
Thank you.
Hi Lee, the breakfast was on par to most decent seaside uk locations, looked good... BUT come to Exmouth in Devon, UK. and try a dockside café breakfast with an award winning Krispies fish and chip meal in the evening. Exmouth is a very traditional seaside town, come and see it for yourself, cheers 🍺👍😎
G'day Lee. I'm looking forward to your vids of Paphos in the high season mate. 😅😅😅😅
Nothing worse than someone hovering around when you are trying to eat,
Come on home Lee.
That display lemon meringue pie was probably made from Polyfilla.
( Like the rest of Paphos).😉
That is so funny my best
Such a shame your experience in Paphos wasn't good. It's such a beautiful place and usually very busy in season. When the renovation is complete it will be so much nicer too. I was there in November last and am going back on Sunday. Apparently the weather has been glorious the last week. Hopefully the building works will be completed soon too. 🤞 Most places don't open up until April time. In full season it's absolutely buzzing everywhere.
I guess you can only say what you see and give an honest review.
Maybe go back one day in season.
5:34 - 'Bit noisy, get an electric'. I had to laugh, the hypocrisy is simply staggering 🤐.
LOL!!!! I was being sarcastic :0)
You don't do various forms of humour, do you?
Stick to Magaluf M8 it’s more suited to what you are looking for !!
Next time you visit the United States,in Florida on the western coast on the Gulf of Mexico there’s a town/city called “Tarpon Springs”.
I used to live near there and it has a heavy Greek influence so it could be an interesting place to visit as an “American Cyprus” kind of place.
I’ve never been to Cyprus but from what I’ve seen in your videos I imagine it’s similar?
Nice lady - but let him eat his breakfast, it needs 100% focus!
10:36 Ive been to Cyprus quite a few times , i stayed in Paphos once and i couldn't get away with it , if u ever return try Protaras i think its a better resort, Fig tree bay is beautiful , not far from Ayia Napa aswell which is a nice place
What you have shown here.. especially Paphos.. that’s the most depressing place I have ever seen.. I don’t feel it either.. it has no vibe.. although the locals are very nice.. i have made my conclusion.. i won’t go to Cypress
Hi Lee, I was in Dhekelia ( near Larnaca) ) for two an half years and you have to go inland and off the tourists routes. You will find the people and restaurants much
When I stayed in Paphos stayed at Coral Bay in a 5 star hotel on a half-board basis so I could travel around during the day. Visited Paphos Town on each of my visits to Cyprus but always found it too quiet. Whilst staying in Limassol went on a 2day trip to Egypt. I've driven nearly all over the Greek side of the island. There's Aphrodites baths and rock. Nicosia. Famagusta viewpoint in Dernia. Ayia Napa. Omodos. The list goes on.
What colour eggs are you used to? Are the eggs in England grey and overcast?
Lol, thanks for the giggle! 😀
Over Easy
Good video, Lee. I could tell that person who wanted you banned upset you. That would have bothered me also. I hoped you told him that you have the best channel IN THE WORLD! Let's Go!
Been following you since the Tenerife days and it’s been class, however I feel you have been massively critical of Cyprus specially going out of season, it isn’t your Brits abroad Blackpool feel that Tenerife and Benidorm give. It’s actually a lovely island , maybe next time visit in season id say go to Protaras it is a lot better than paphos.
Tut-tut, Lee... 'Banned and Deported'? CLICKBAIT! 😱
Also, didn't give your score on the food (unless I missed it?).
I'd give the food a 6/10. The coffee looked a 9/10 though.
On a side-note... a little awkward that the lady was standing over your shoulder as you were trying to eat.
Cheers for the upload, Lee. 👍
No such thing as ClickBait. All Marketing, Like Advertising in a Newspaper. :0) x BTW 104 New Subscribers from this video and 2 unsubbed. I monitor the so called clickbait videos and they generate more new subscribers than a normal titled video. Yeah I wanted her to respectfully leave me to eat. lol My food ended up cold.
I wouldn’t give a score either the woman was so rude standing over while he tried to eat
G'day lee dont worry about that bloke another top video thanks mate Shane in Sydney 🇦🇺 🦘
I’ve booked to go,to Cyprus in July. in fact the hotel next door, the Leonardo Cypria Plaza. I’ve wanted to go to Cyprus for many years and this my first visit. I am dreading it so much now after watching these videos. I’m contemplating paying extra to change and go to Turkey 😢
That would be a far worse proposition.
Watch some of Paphos Life’s videos.. he lives there and is putting out regular balanced updates on the improvement works. Lee focused on those, but they are due to complete before the summer season.
@@sarahmiddleton1402 When visiting these days, I prefer to de-camp to my Kouklia bunker.
Im usually disappointed when these holiday series are over...Not this time though 😂 You owe us a quick turnaround after this one Lee...🤣🤣🤣
Love how your trying to crack on your with your breaky politely when the waitress was there 🙈🤣🤣
Honestly i like to eat in peace. I wouldve told that woman to go away, meanwhile your foods going cold and shes ignoring your hints.
I don't know whether you have been there but Madeira is a beautiful island full of history and stunning views like the Monastery sited inside the volcano. And amazing streets of the capital.
All I say u went wrong time of the year, try again in the summer or other year or so , Cyprus is lovely place to be
It’s what you want out of a holiday. We love Cyprus, yes it was abit of a building site but there’s so much more than bars. We went on a jeep safari, boat trip blue lagoon. Adonis baths is beautiful. The zoo is good. We did all of this in November. Oh and we bought a cat home. As far as English food we personally would rather have local food on holiday. But great vlogs, enjoying them
You need to go to Turkey 🇹🇷 Lee! We go every year, and we alternate between Kusadasi and Side. Back to Side again for us this year. You'll love it. Loads to see and do, BUT don't go off-season 😂
Tbf it looks awful there , try Madeira if you want to go somewhere beautiful
Love the Zubr picture ! 👍🇵🇱

Well Lee I know you can have your opinion on a place but sorry to say you got what you deserved it seems from the time you had arrived it was not British for you so you spent about 5 days wondering where all those Englsh food places were.
Wow you found a Fish bar with all your English comforts then found this place Tea for two then breakfast looked horrible so you could not wait to get back to the UK .
The best place you showed was that Phivos where you had great local food
Well remember you did go there out of season so hope you were not expecting everything to be busy that is time of the year where they get ready for the summer season.
So Lee if you really want a great english food and way of life then go to those places in Spain where there is so much there.
you will feel at home there.
So this is just my opinion .
I admire you Lee for sharing your honest opinion if it offends other people so be it, it looks like a building monstrosity and your vlogs have put me off going, thank goodness for your channel my friend.
Banned from entering a Porsche dealership 🤓
Stock iPhone music during the menu flybys. LOL 😂
But Paphos new town isn’t Cyprus. You liked the old town and It’s a big island. You shouldn’t judge the island just by one tourist town that they’re trying to make better. There are some beautiful villages. You have only seen a tiny tiny bit of the island. Protaras is lovely and Ayia Napa. Try going back in season and you’ll see a difference.
Two beautiful places
Let me think ,it was around 50 years ago I went to Paphos, it was just a little fishing harbour then with a small beach one hotel and a fish restaurant just near the harbour pier what a cracking meal we had . Last time I was in Cyprus left RAF Nicosia the day before the Turkey invaded.
Hey hun each to their own . everyone is different about places . I am not sure about there my self . too many places closed down . not a good sign xx❤
I dont understand tourists who seek out their native foods overseas. Enjoy the cuisine and culture of the place you are visiting. I love a Good English Breakfast as much as next person but come on!
Spent Christmas in Paphos in an apartment overlooking the harbour, 22 degrees and Boxing Day on the beach, all the bars were open even on Christmas day and I have to say we loved it (especially as we've usually been to the Canaries but due to the protests against tourists will never go back there)
I only been to Cyprus once, and would love to go back one day
Ignore the man that argued with you on the street. Agree to disagree. Going home day on vacation sometimes can be the best day of vacation. Safe trip home.
I just can't understand why you didn't show your hotel, you normally show the room and how did you do the talk tv interview which said it was live so you must have left Cyprus days ago?
Lee mate im gutted you didn't go to larnaca.... i had a great time there last year and would loved to have seen the local bar workers....when you get back go and explore some of the devon coast....im going to visit my mum who lives in seaton, devon but you have beer beach and lyme regis either side...you have Sidmouth and Exeter just down the road...trust me mate you will love it 😀
Was there last year It’s changed lots tho safe trip back 🍺👍🍺
Single handedly killed tourism in Cyprus 😂. To be fair what he has shown looks a dump, not like what it was when I went out 25 yrs ago at 18.
Was it a dump after you left? 🤣🤣😉😉
@@malfunction8165 not sure I was on the plane couldn't see anything with any degree of clarity at 30000 ft.
Keep doing what you are doing, Lee. Tell it as is, always. People spend a lot of money to travel to these places. If it's a S***hole, tell people. It's up to the resort to put right. Far too many vloggers are paid to promote places that don't deserve it. Honest reviews are a godsend for travelers. Never be intimidated by lunatics 😊👍
When you're back home Lee come and review the Butcher's block steak house in stone just down the road from the plume of feathers and if you decide to I shall meet you and ive not tried it myself so it could be a interesting review as I can see it from my windows ❤
