It’s worth getting excess insurance before you leave. We did that for Malta where the excess was also huge. Gives you a bit peace of mind. And I definitely recommend Malta, you’d love the architecture there
I had a $2000 excess and someone crashed into me. Hetrz did refund it when the blame was cleared but an expensive day out. A friend totalled a car in the USA 20 years ago leaving the lot, $12,000 of the company credit card. I use a broker for car hire comes with no excess.
Lee I learned a lot more when I left school . I had amazing teachers . I just wasn't interested and didn't know how to process information. I've lots of professional qualifications now. I'm sure my teachers would be proud.❤
Loved the trip to old town. You are right about getting out to explore. I think you find better food that is more authentic. Thanks for the walk around. See you in the next one. Safe journey.
If you love history and Architecture, Valletta and Malta are the ones for you. And views from the old walled city Mdina overlooking most of Malta are breathtaking. 🇲🇹
My grandma is buried in the british cemetary in Limassol, she had to vacate famagusta, back in the day when the Turkish removed everyone with only what they were wearing 😢xx
Hey Lee great video, while in Cyprus you got to drive over to the north side to explore it's so different also and go to no mans land and check it out it's an area that has been closed for years after the war when the countries were split in half amazing history it's a must see moment.
Lee it's been a while since myself and my wife were there and you even stood outside the Town hall where we got married.Had some wedding pics taken in the gardens around the Town Hall. There is also a nice Church which is made out of Terracotta tiles I think on the Tomb of the Kings Road.
Told you Old Town would be a better experience for you. On Carnival Day too! The "taverna" with the red door is a quite well known boutique hotel! The place with the blue chairs is a souvlaki/gyros place. We've eaten in the "ΑΝΕΡΑΔΑ" I'm glad you enjoyed your sandwich there. I absolutely love Cyprus doors and photographing them. Its a favourite pastime of mine 🤣 If you go to Larnaca, you could fill your boots with them and the old buildings attached to them crying out to tell their tales! Lovely little video today. Thank you!
My wife and I went to Paphos (as it was then known🤪) in the late 1980s and had the most wonderful time. We hired a brand new Honda 750cc motor bike for a week and then a Jeep for the second week so we could explore the Trudos Mountains etc. We absolutely loved the place and the people were so friendly. For our honeymoon we went to Luxor in Egypt and for anyone who likes history. There is nowhere better. Great videos Lee
What a beautiful little place the old town of “Pafos”, ( I say it right otherwise I’ll get the lynch mob after me, fantastic area. Like me I love sparkling water over still, with ice and lemon. Your lunch looked pretty delightful nice and light and a change from the usual fish & chips or full English. I have that Google translation on my iPhone and it’s very handy. The glasses are a new one on me though I take it you Bluetooth them.
Don't worry about the lynch mob I live in Cyprus and it's always been called Paphos by the expats only the Cypriots spell it pafos or Πάφος if they wish to moan at me let them 😂
If you want a experience tomorrow drive to the trodoos mountains in the old road very picturesque driving through the woods but you won't be able to go skiing now to late in the year 😂
The old town was always wonderful, Going back a few years a lovely old cobbler plyed his trade there along with more traditional trades, And one of this guys best customers was the late speaker of the House Betty boothroyd, he had been hand making her shoes going back to her dancing days,
I agree with the getting out and about Lee.. if your going to a country at least explore and find out its history, there are some beautiful places in Cyprus to see 🙋♀️👍
Nice little architectural tour ... the door handles were stunning. People need to pay a little more attention as they go about their day. (That section was like some of Charlie Veitch's video's).
At the restaurant you were sitting in a short sleeved polo shirt, but did you notice the woman at the table behind you wearing a hoodie, and then put on a quilted body warmer with a hood?
I'm with you on the architecture, Lee. Whenever I go some place new, I always stop and take in the architecture of the buildings first. Just love the details on old buildings. Modern stuff - well there's not much intricate stuff you can put on a piece of glass!
Hi Lee, you need to go to Paphos Old Town on the Hill Views are outstanding. There’s a little Cafe under a great big tree where the locals have a coffee and home made cakes. Recommended.
What a lovely way to relax after work. I just love you wandering around looking at the old buildings. I know exactly what you mean, they have sole. Just gorgeous.. and your right, there is so, so much of our world to see, coming from Scotland I’m guilty of going abroad when on holiday, yet hardly know anywhere in England or Wales and I know there are so many places I want see. Also the salads are fantastic, the tomatoes really taste and smell gorgeous unlink the bland tasteless tomato’s in UK supermarkets
Thanks for another interesting video Lee, i also like old buildings, so much history, don't like many modern buildings or modern cars, prefer older cars, much more character. Very relaxing video 😊😊
Good Evening Lee. I really liked seeing the Old Town of PAPHOS. A very well kept place, not a spec of rubbish anywhere. I really did Enjoy seeing the old Greek Achitecture, some very Lovely Greek Taverna's and places you could go and have a mooch along by. It those Beautiful old Wine Bottles could talk, what stories they would tell you?? The Greek Cypriot people, are very friendly and Welcoming. I do Love my Greek food, i would have a plate of Domalades and and Large Bowl of Greek Salad and treat myself to a Glass of Ouzo in the sunshine. Go out and Explore the Island and just try to go off the beaten track. You never know, what you might find and discover on your Greek Island Adventure. The History of a place can be very Interesting and you may learn something new.
Another great vlog Lee. Paphos old town certainly is a lovely place. There are to many places to recommend, Latsi, Peyia all beautiful places.. Can’t wait for your next vlog on the wonderful island of Cyprus.
Letraset and Rotring ... that takes me back. Clutch pencils where the lead was replaced with a sharpened pop-rivet shank by some scallywag in the drawing office ... leading to slicing the drawing film. Happy days Haha
Did anyone actually give you the story of the Bell Tower in Perth? The bells were a gift from the UK, they are actually the old bells from St Martins in the Field in London. When the tower was built there was nothing on the foreshore, Elizabeth Quay was not even planned so the tower looked quite nice and was a bit of a nod to WA winning the Americas Cup. However it should really have been at least twice as big as it is and I think it should have been in Kings Park. Some Smart Alec in the UK thought; what can we do with these old bells and then in a flash thought; lets give them to Western Australia and then they sat in storage for many years.
I've been telling my family for years how I'd like to live in Pafos old Town mate. Have a glass or two of wine and a few beers wiv me mates each arvo. What a life. Sorry for all my comments Lee but, you make my memories come back so vividly mate. Thanks again. 😂😂😂😂❤
You will enjoy Limassol, was there a few years back and did the 3 day mini cruise over to Egypt, not sure if that trip is still going on or not, plenty of bars and eateries around there also so you won't starve lol.
Hope you get to visit tombs of the kings in paphos especially if you like history and the marina of paphos is nice to as the planes come in over that way :)
I completely agree with you on old architecture and designs being better. The same goes for older cars from mid 60's back. I particularly love 1950's cars with their feminine lines. That town was so lovely to explore. Thanks for the tour Lee. 👍
For years we’ve traveled over the pond & holidayed in the US or Canada, absolutely love it but last year we had a short break in Venice! Our first time in Italy & it was magical ❤ and a 2 hour flight! Wots that? It’s usually between 7 & 11…..😂 This got us wanting to try more short hop city breaks, so in a few weeks we’re off to Budapest, can’t wait, like you said it’s an amazing world we live, so many places to visit 😊
An amazing mixture of old and new, sparkling and run down and ready for demolotion. What a strange place with real character. Enjoy your journey Lee like we are.

It’s worth getting excess insurance before you leave. We did that for Malta where the excess was also huge. Gives you a bit peace of mind. And I definitely recommend Malta, you’d love the architecture there

Did anyone actually give you the story of the Bell Tower in Perth? The bells were a gift from the UK, they are actually the old bells from St Martins in the Field in London. Buildings from yesteryear still standing and a beauty to behold.
Modern structures these days will be lucky to last for a decade !
Wonderful!
Letraset brings back memories as I was once a paste-up artist on magazines . . .
Do you remember Mecanorma?
@@TheMacMasterI only used Letraset along with the smell of Cow Gum; our first galleys were produced on an IBM composer - happy times!

It looked really nice there, love the old buildings. If a bell tower was designed by computer then you would have the one in Perth 😄
Paphos does have some class in the case of tourist trinkets - but it's just a small amount with considerable shortfall.
That's my car except a manual 😊 great little cars.
Nice to see you somewhere new Lee. Be great to see you back in Benidorm too at some point. Maybe a collaboration 😉
