yes, they do still need evidence after a confession. Police can coerce or lead suspects into confessing and it must be proven without doubt that she poisoned him, just saying she did is not the full story. Whether she did it because of a mental break or if it was a crime of passion or premeditated can dictate if she gets sent to a mental home or life in jail or even if she CAN stand trial and be charged or not

I don't know if it's just me noticing that Tinyiko is mentally disturbed hence the pressure they're giving her to confess and agree to what she never did is sickening. The whole episode, she never admitted to kill the husband but Andile & the audience assumes she did taking advantage of the fact that she can't constructively speak & answer questions. The police noticed that, otherwise they wouldn't have released her. This episode had poor judgement
