Sharing Your Joy

Part 4 in the 4 part Disciples of Christ series with Pastor Vicky Spring Love.
God has commissioned us to go and make disciples of all nations. Sharing the joy God has given us with others sometimes seems challenging. But Jesus gave us a simple analogy to help us when he compared soul-winning to fishing.
If you want to go fishing, the first thing you will have to do is get the proper equipment, get in a boat and sail away from the shore. As you get out into the deep water, you will more likely catch the bigger fish than if you stay close to shore. However, if you never get into the boat, you won’t catch any fish at all.
Fishing for souls is the same way. You have to go where the fish are so to speak. That means cultivating relationships with people who don’t know God. As you build the relationship, there will be opportunities for you to share your faith in your regular conversations.
Luke 5:10b-11 - Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.
