To be fair, the engine installation location and the number of AoA sensors make C919 more safer than 737 Max in terms of design.

Good for China! Start small, gain experience, grow her rightful share in plane sales in the world aviation market espcially in the BRICS Plus countries in the years to come. With a big domestic market for such an aircraft there is much going for China manufacturing her own passenger aircrafts. Literally the sky is the limit for Chinese commericial aviation!

Looks like a very nice airliner, but find the use of loud 'music' piped in extremely annoying at airshows (should be banned, especially in a country with notoriously strict laws 😏). Not just in Singapore but this was a good demo. of how irritating it can be 😖. I live in the US, much the same but different. Want to hear the aircraft (especially the flying surviving antiques from WW2) not some 'blaring!' Pop or patriotic tunes that I can hear that anytime 🙄 where as big radial engines live, not so much. Whatever that was in the background here was almost as bad as the music that they play at a Thai kick boxing match 😬. Note to all air show producers, 🗑can the music, at least while the aircraft participants are flying - TYVM!!

Chinese companies absolutely suck at building quality products and support (Huawei probably the only exception I see). Comac has a long way to go before their airplanes are considered by airlines outside China (unless they're pressured into it).
More important than selling the plane is the maintenance schedules and costs and parts availability.
Russian aircraft manufacturers were dismal on that, it's up to Comac to not make the same mistakes.
I find it doubtful that it will take them less than 20 years to build an international maintenance network, and show that the product is reliable and cost effective.

Loigstical support outside of China is the big show stopper for any int'l sales. As @NautiGrandpa said, I too have 40+ years in int'l construction and engineering, a decade of which was in China - Xiamen, Tianjin, Guangdong, Shanghai, Sichuan. All projects there age in "dog years". Something 7 years old looks 49. They've upped their game of late, and the high-speed rail network, exceeding the rest of the world combined, is impressive, but Comac has a long way to go to be considered "world-class."
