Building a heavy duty welding cart. Those off the shelve welding carts from harbor freight and northern tool are just kind of cheap and flimsy. I wanted to build my own cart that has places to hold a tig torch and ground clamp cable. So I ordered some aluminum diamond plate aka tread plate to jazz it up a bit. This will take a few videos to complete so stay tuned. - Хобби
As A woman who just started welding classes with my husband, we were told by our teacher to check out your youtube channel. Your relationship with your wife is the same as me and my husband. Happy welder families stay together. Thanks for the excellent welding tutorials. .
Way to go, Jody! Getting a little "extra" before breakfast always puts a guy in a great mood! It reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw a number of years ago . . . "Welders do it with hot rods." If my wife was that hot, I'd be smiling too! Thanks for the video.
Regards,
Dave
Hi Jody,
That ending will make your subscriber count sky rocket...! She looks like a very nice person.
Don't get too distracted from your main goal, meaning, showing us "Welding tips and tricks".
Thanks for sharing,
Pierre
She is a very nice person .... My favorite one in fact
Hi,
I'm lucky enough to have one just about the same...
Super sweet and touching appearance of your wife in the video. You made my day. Marriage is worth the work! Thanks for sharing. I still watch your videos here in Greenland, but don't comment much. I do appreciate your sharing and thank you for your wonderful contribution to welding and fabrication.
Jody, I love your videos. I learn so much from you. And I must say, you're one lucky man!
Awww, absolutely sweet of her to give you that hug. Two thumbs up indeed :)
Can't wait for the rest of the welding cart build.
That lay wire shot has to bee the best inaction welding shot ive ever seen. AMAZING
Thumbs up to you too Pal. Been learning a ton from you thank you for your time. The AWS is saying that this year will be short almost 500 k welders. You should open your very own trade school. You are a great teacher
Thanks for the arc shots and the nice smile you put on my face. It always makes me happy to see other folks happy!
Always a bonus when you can score some free materials...nice!
Aloha and see you next week...Chuckie
Love the visit from your wife. A little reminder of what's really important in life. Oh yeah, thanks for all the great welding vids.
Rock on Jody. Been using the tig finger for 2 weeks at school and I love it so far.
I enjoy building stuff from scrap or recycled parts. I just built a welding cart a couple weeks ago. Thanks for all your videos! :)
Nice ending to another great video
Jody
It's real nice to see your wife interested in what you do. Many people do not have that support. I am thankful that my wife is my best friend and a great support for what I do. Kudos's to both of you and thanks for your efforts.. By the way I recommend everyone get a couple of TIG Fingers they are a hand saver
thx

The man giggles when his wife gives him a smooch. That's a good thing!
Gorgeous wife Jody. Watching this video reminds me of when you built the downdraft table, which was inspiration for my senior project in college- a mobile downdraft table

Great video. You show us how it is supposed to be done, and there are some welding lessons in there too.
Great vid!!! I am distracted but I built a nice cart with wheels. I take it

Hey Jody, unrelated to this video-but had an idea for you. How about a video on the different options in shade ratings and colors? You get such nice arc shots, wondering if you could swap shades around for comparison. Thanks. I have a #11 Gold (glass) in the mail.
Never miss your channel :)
Jody,
Awesome video as always...can't wait for the next one.
Can you give a part # for the bristle disc. I've looked for them and they don't look like what you have. I have a lot of mill scale to remove and I'm hoping this might be the ticket. Thx. John
Love your videos Jody keep up the good work!!!
Now we know why your always in a good mood.
Great family cameo.
Always enjoy watching your videos! And ditto to the lucky man comments! Lol. would you consider fabricating an Impact bar/brush guard for a 4x4 truck ground up? The other ones I have found on RUclips are depressing to say the least. Thanks!
I love this video and I have learn a lot, looking forward for the part 2
i just use a regular flap wheel to knock rust and scale off. works really well and fast
lol....almost didn't watch to the end.....best part of RUclips....real people with real lives. :)
your a lucky man !!
Thanks Jodi,Really enjoyed your video,great tips.You just can't top a wife who loves a Welder.Lol...
Hi Jody. Loving all your tutorials here in the UK. Can you tell me please what size hols are in the small table that you used in the welding cart build, and at what centres. Keep up the great work
Hey Sparky, Nice Hot Pass!
When you see a man smile ear to ear like that, he must be doing something right!
That was a great video until the end lol then it was hilarious. Does she know you kept that part in. By the way I'm really enjoying my tig fingers (I got 2) they are a fantastic tool :) thanks and keep up the great work.
Great video always !
Awesome project and great ending. :-)
Cant wait to see the rest. Going to be doing this one myself. What is the wall thickness on the 1 1/2 tubing?
I have a pipeliner hood like you do in the background. Maybe make a video using that?
hey Jody, nice video as always!
could you maybe make a vid about oxy -acetylene welding? i know its a little old school but interesting nontheless.
Haha I love the part with your wife! Awesome!
Jody. Amazon has the 12 inch Makita 1230 dry saw up for $410 now. JUMP !
Nice cart start..might try those discs myself. Oh, can she weld?? ;-)
Alright. Who was that women REALLY and how much did you have to pay for the cameo appearance? Is she one of your RUclips groupies? Does RUclips send you one when you get enough subscribers??
Dont you try to hassel our JODY ok!.....you were not listening. As my teacher used to say...DONT BREATH THE FUMES!.
Bah! The only hassle I'd give Jody is if he drank Labatts' Blue (shudder). And the fumes are the best part!
A friend offered me a trade on a welder, 'gasless' he said, whatever that means. I know less than nothing about welding so came here looking for info. Seems easy-peasy :-)
Hello i'm from argentina
Would be great if some of the videos of tig on carbon steel and stainless steel have Castilian or Spanish subtitles! Greetings excellent program very good quality ...
Regular hot rolled steel drives me nuts. I grind the mill scale off and clean with acetone and sometimes the welds are fine but more often than not I'll get a small bubbly thing that ends up as porosity. The more I grind it out and go over it the worse it gets. Sometimes I can add filler like 309 and it helps but I feel like I shouldn't have to. If I were welding that tube you have I would have cleaned the joints inside and out, rubbed it down with acetone and I guarantee I would have gotten porosity in a few spots. What do you do to avoid this? I was struggling with this the other day and I thought I had everything covered: dynasty 200dx, new cup, #8 gas lense, 20-25 cfh, red tungsten ground perfect, no argon leaks, ground and clean (acetone) hot rolled steel. Got a little bubble and anything I did after it got worse. The only thing I didn't do was preheat the steel. Any suggestions? Thanks and thanks for all the informative videos. -Ray
exelenye motivacion de la esposa felicitaciones saludos y que Dios los vendiga
Hi,wonder if you could do some stuff on lens shade's and amps,in the past after a day's work I get really tired eyes welding heavy stuff with high amps, might be useful to some viewer's.
Nice cameo, you definitely married UP Jody! Just kidding, y'all are a nice pair. Keep up the awesome videos!
there is no doubt I married UP. lucky me. they say even a blind hog finds and acorn every now and then.
Looking forward to it. I'm going to need a cart for my new Everlast Powertig 200DX and my PowerCool W300, I will be getting tnese units in 2 mos.
I have a question for you Jodymeister, Will this cart serve that purpose?
this cart will have a spot on the bottom for a tig cooler, the middle shelve will hold a tig welder, and the top will hold a tote tray of tig welding consumables and grinders and stuff. big enough to hold pretty much any 200-250 amp inverter and any tig cooler....so yes it will work. but you might want to change up dimensions to suit your own stuff.
nothing like learning and a good laugh
Wouldn't it be more cost effective MIG instead of TIG?
Light grinding on the edges and low Amp I think that it could be done nicely and "nearly" flat with MIG, just my opinion.
Hi Jody - great video with a gentle ending:) I've got one question about welding square tubing's inside corners. I've been tig welding stainless balustrades, mainly made of sq. tubes. I was taught to weld inside corners with no filler rod vertical down (because the welded frame was to big to easly turn it in more welder's friendly position). Do you think this was a good idea, or should I go vertical up inside corner at al cost? Regards from sunny Poland!
all depends on the application. sometimes a fusion weld with no filler is fine.
to really know the answer, it would require destructive testing. IF you have doubts, Doing a lay wire uphill could be better and just as fast
Thanks, for your aportacions!
Que currao que está eso se nota que te guta la soldadura. :)
Gusta*. Perdón me he equivocado. Te quiero papá.
So, it really is true.......smokin hot women really ARE attracted to Weldors! I have heard this, but never experienced it. Maybe better brush up on my welding skills.
Nice project Jody. I enjoy these videos where we learn to build things that we can use. Looking forward to part 2!
Are you at your own welding shop, Jodi?
Jody, when will you have more of the gas lens kits available? I've waiting quite a while to get one.
Stubby gas lens kits should be back in stock in a day or two. Thx for your patience while I get schooled on the online store thing
Let's see...wife makes an unplanned intrance, plants a good one on him for millions to see...Jody turns to jello! Haha-too funny. :)
Gracias por compartir conocimientos, espero la parte 2
