Wukong had to turn to Bohisattva Lingji for help to defeat it. 2. In this game, you can finish a side/hidden quest in chapter 2 to get an item that will help deal with Yellow Wind Sage's wind. It would be the exact item that Bohisattva used in the original story. So, I'd say, in this game, the Yellow Wind Sage's imbalanced ability to case that wind captures the essence of the original story of Yellow Wind Sage.
EXACTLY. I love seeing all the people absolutely hate on the boss and the game because of that feature. And I mean to be honest you can’t blame them too much cuz no where in the game does it say that but it just exposes most of the people who didn’t explore or doesn’t want to explore. Where you defeated the giant rat “First Rat Prince” there should be a large door that you can destroy with the “Withering Wight” spirit attack. (The giant head slam guy). Then proceed through the door for “Loong scales” which allows you to open the waterfall in Chapter 1 and the Sandfall in chapter 2 for Secret Bosses. Loving the playthrough!!
The reason why he speaks in a Scottish accent is because it’s kind of the English equivalent sound-wise to a Northwestern Chinese accent. I’m Chinese, and in the game, each of the bosses actually speak in the dialect/accent of mandarin that is canonically accurate to their location. This sage has a northwestern Chinese accent, which is very rugged and twangy, like the Scottish accent is to English. Even the song he plays and sings is very typical to northwestern China and is actually in northwestern folk song style. Honestly such a great choice, you can really tell it’s a labor of love

sober up the pig by giving him a sobering stone and then he takes u to a different realm where u fight a big beetle and killing him gives u a new vessel that stuns and increases damage but it also stuns this dude and stops his sandstorm because u use his wind to stun him.

when you complete the side quest for the drunk hog dude in it’s entirety you get a wind charm item that you can use to disrupt that end bosses wind abilities. super duper useful
I did the final boss with the Wind Tamer equipped, and it saved my life during the final phase. Those tornados look like actual hell, so good on you for beating it without it, cause it couldn't have been me!
jev if u remember when u killed the golden big head dude and had all 3 bells rang it let u suck up that 1 spirit and it gave u a fire immunity scroll. u can get 1 for the wind rat as well to make the fight easier. the fire immunity 1 was meant to be used on the black bear but u managed it without so good job.
Tip for the transformation into the fire guy. Light attacks fill the meter in the left of the transformation, then when it’s full, dodge and use heavy attack to get unique specials. There’s 3 different ones. Back dodge, side dodge, and forward dodge into heavy attack.
About the stop motion animation in the end, the background is that there ara many folks tales about fox spirit turning into a beautiful woman, lure and kill young scholars, so this young man dreamt of it happening to him after he saved the fox. Apparently he was scared. Then the next scene you see is him wearing the fox as a scarf. What you did not see is that him killing the fox and making it into the scarf. The irony is that while this fox is just a fox and typically pose no real danger, but it was killed due to fears stemming from the demon inside this young man's head. One step further, does this young man secretly want this fox turning into a woman? Sure he does, he just does not want the being killed part. Then, going back to the moment that he saved the fox, did he save the fox out of genuine kindness, or he was just simply hoping it becoming a woman?
You gotta love how Jev says “ I’m not your Lackey” to guy that unlocks a whole new area, MULTIPLE Boss Fights, and eventually leads to an item that negates Wind attacks lol
yellow wind sage was such a cool boss. gotta get the secret item that nullifies wind attacks, explore the levels more. u missed one of the coolest bosses in act 2
I thought so too. I was a little stuck on him the first time i came across him. Got frustrated and went and did all the secret bosses did pig bois questline got the item and levelled up abit. Also bought all the mind cores i could and ate some pills. Beat him second try upon returning, was super satisfying...the secret item really makes 3rd phase much easier. Also using rock solid on his stomp attack after he does is sand spectre moves cause him to stumble backwards and leaves him open for a good long while.

Hey jev two things, first same as I said last video when u use that fire sword wolf magic if you spam the light attack on the boss and fill up the meter on the right like ur focus you can do a special attack with hitting dodge then heavy right after. And also that fire vessel use it for boss fights it boosts your focus. Better call me out next video once u read this 😋

dear jev, in the spirit wolf form, auto attacking builds up a bar in the bottom right, once fild, if you dodge then heavy attack he will do a large aoe attack that does tons of damage.
If you would’ve gotten the Wind Tamer vessel from completing the drunk boar quest, u would’ve used the tamer during the fight to counter the tornado and domain expansion he casts.

Also, can you punish someone for a crime that you think/anticipate to happen but hasn’t happened yet, or might not even happen ever. Third, is it because you are a human and she is a different species, so she is destined to be enemy of yours, and you have the right to kill her. The story is pretty sad and deep.

Couple things I was told and noticed in case you didn’t yet is that when sucking in spirits into your gourd and those wondering green wisp refills your gourd to heal even more. Also when you transform into that fire wolf guy, in the bottom right there’s a charge bar there and once it’s filled you can actually do a heavy charged attack that does decent dmg. I saw just spamming triangle most of the time in this form which is good but I think it’s more effective trying to get that heavy attack
The opening song is sung in one of the northwestern Chinese dialects, which I guess is why the dubbing is in accented English. I'm Chinese, and I came here specifically to see if the English dubbing is singing in English. The game is tailored for those who watched 1986 TV show or read the original novel. We whom grew up with it all knew that Wukong loaned a relic to nullify the storm. So, when we couldn't win, we started looking for the relic.
the yellow wind sage was a pain for me but once i did that hidden side quest, not only was it a lot easier, but it better for your character as you get better gear
Jev my man, in the wolf fire blade transformation, if you hit a couple light attacks to build up focus, you get a mega heavy attack and its way more dmg output than just spamming the normal heavy. Not sure if you are aware of this but just putting this here just in case

For the yellow wind sage, natural progression would have you buy a sobering stone and the golden ridge beast from the man in stone npc (which requires killing the mother of stones first and defeating the man in stone afterwards), complete the pig npc's questline to get to the kingdom of sahali, and kill the boss and to get the "wind tamer" which is a vessel which prevents the wind related abilities at the end. So far, chapters seem to include a vessel for the final boss of the chapter that helps significantly.
I’m assuming before you fight a final boss there is an item to help you that u get from a secret boss I got it before this final boss and it helped out a lot beat him like 3rd try
Hey jev love the videos! After the first rat prince boss theres a mural wall which you can break with the withering wight spirit and go inside. It gives you an item to pass through the waterfall in chapter 1, sandfall in chapter 2, and one more spot in chapter 3. Keep up the vids this game is awesome

this game is lore accurate af, the side quest literally give you an item to help defeat the enemy, just like how in the story, Wukong always go ask for help whenever he cant deal with a problem and "borrow" someone item to use against his enemy
In fact, the Yellow Wind King is good, and the Bodhisattva is bad. If you look at the background, he used to be the patron saint of the country, so much so that the king stopped believing in Buddhism, leading to natural disasters. This is also available in the hidden level of the game, where he will need your help to vanquish the monster and then thank you for the people
Seeing people struggling with chapter 3's final boss like I did makes me smile. I decided to go level up a little and stumbled upon the side quest that makes me resist the wind. Seeing people killing the final boss without the side quest item gave me even bigger smile, definitely worth the praise :) The developer definitely trolled the ones that gave negative reviews because of this boss, for its lore accurate gameplay.
There are some hidden bosses in the second chapter. After killing them, you can get a gourd that increases your attack. I saw in other videos that. if you explore the map carefully, you will find some surprises. If you only complete the main quest, the final ending is not good.
Missed a very important boss, by the stone vanguard arena there is a cave with blue stone guys in it and a boss at the end of the tunnel it’s a must do boss 😂
There is a item you can get called the "wind tamer" that makes the wind sage boss way easier it helps with the tornadoes. Just like the cloth and fire in the previous chapter
So u didn't actually explore or kill many of the bosses, didn't go to the secret area to get the intended item to beat him but no its the boss that's terrible not you lmao
Did more research that boar in the desert when you said oh I’m not your lackey , if you help him and give him a sobering stone it unlocks a hidden area with a op ability , mythical army , and hidden boss fights and you unlock a third taslisman slot and also you will unlock new armor pieces and a new ability , also it’s a guy stuck underground he will give you a ability as well in the 2nd area
If anyone is struggling on yellow wind sage, save red tide for the last 1/4 of the fight, the tornados can’t pick you up while you’re in your transformation

and once u get both jev u get the ingredients to craft a really good staff for early game does 70 regular damage cost 20k

@@G0ld3nFW I only just beat ch2 but I'm pretty sure those relics or whatever they were called are only most effective for the boss of the chapter. It stunned him when you use it. I dont remember what the passive was though.
Couple things I was told and noticed in case you didn’t yet is that when sucking in spirits into your gourd and those wondering green wisp refills your gourd to heal even more. Also when you transform into that fire wolf guy, in the bottom right there’s a charge bar there and once it’s filled you can actually do a heavy charged attack that does decent dmg. I saw just spamming triangle most of the time in this form which is good but I think it’s more effective trying to get that heavy attack

The opening song is sung in one of the northwestern Chinese dialects, which I guess is why the dubbing is in accented English. I'm Chinese, and I came here specifically to see if the English dubbing is singing in English. Thanks for letting me know that the dubbing also has an accent, and I was wondering why it sounded a little different. Very interesting.
The game is tailored for those who watched 1986 TV show or read the original novel. We whom grew up with it all knew that Wukong loaned a relic to nullify the storm. So, when we couldn't win, we started looking for the relic.

the yellow wind sage was a pain for me but once i did that hidden side quest, not only was it a lot easier, but it better for your character as you get better gear
Jev my man, in the wolf fire blade transformation, if you hit a couple light attacks to build up focus, you get a mega heavy attack and its way more dmg output than just spamming the normal heavy. Not sure if you are aware of this but just putting this here just in case

For the yellow wind sage, natural progression would have you buy a sobering stone and the golden ridge beast from the man in stone npc (which requires killing the mother of stones first and defeating the man in stone afterwards), complete the pig npc's questline to get to the kingdom of sahali, and kill the boss and to get the "wind tamer" which is a vessel which prevents the wind related abilities at the end. So far, chapters seem to include a vessel for the final boss of the chapter that helps significantly.
I’m assuming before you fight a final boss there is an item to help you that u get from a secret boss I got it before this final boss and it helped out a lot beat him like 3rd try
Hey jev love the videos! After the first rat prince boss theres a mural wall which you can break with the withering wight spirit and go inside. It gives you an item to pass through the waterfall in chapter 1, sandfall in chapter 2, and one more spot in chapter 3. Keep up the vids this game is awesome

In fact, the Yellow Wind King is good, and the Bodhisattva is bad. If you look at the background, he used to be the patron saint of the country, so much so that the king stopped believing in Buddhism, leading to natural disasters. This is also available in the hidden level of the game, where he will need your help to vanquish the monster and then thank you for the people

Seeing people struggling with chapter 3's final boss like I did makes me smile. I decided to go level up a little and stumbled upon the side quest that makes me resist the wind. Seeing people killing the final boss without the side quest item gave me even bigger smile, definitely worth the praise :)
The developer definitely trolled the ones that gave negative reviews because of this boss, for its lore accurate gameplay.

There are some hidden bosses in the second chapter. After killing them, you can get a gourd that increases your attack. I saw in other videos that. if you explore the map carefully, you will find some surprises. If you only complete the main quest, the final ending is not good.

Missed a very important boss, by the stone vanguard arena there is a cave with blue stone guys in it and a boss at the end of the tunnel it’s a must do boss 😂

There is a item you can get called the "wind tamer" that makes the wind sage boss way easier it helps with the tornadoes. Just like the cloth and fire in the previous chapter

The last boss gets a little easier if you do some exploring and side quests. You can get rid of the surrounding wind storm

Did more research that boar in the desert when you said oh I’m not your lackey , if you help him and give him a sobering stone it unlocks a hidden area with a op ability , mythical army , and hidden boss fights and you unlock a third taslisman slot and also you will unlock new armor pieces and a new ability , also it’s a guy stuck underground he will give you a ability as well in the 2nd area
little tip jason, absorbing a spirit will fill up your gourd so its best to drink to fill out ur hp and replenish it with the spirit.
