Thank you for a great video. My husband and I are heading to Lisbon next month and we're so excited. I'm going to have to watch this video again to catch, and remember, all the historic references.
Prepare your trip by checking the most important places for you, we've develop this app that provides virtual tours (guided if you want) and let you know hidden spots, to take pictures, eat, or simply discover more about Portuguese art and culture. Link in the bio.
@@Terry-wb8hh Excellent. Great weather for March, great sights to see (especially Pena Palace). Plenty eateries. Crowds everywhere but not as bad as in the summer.
Whatever you do in Portugal, don't use the hop-on hop-off buses in Lisbon or Sintra! I've been on these buses in Dublin, Rome, Paris and San Diego and they are a great way to see the city. But both my experiences with these buses in Lisbon and Sintra were absolute disasters! In Lisbon it was chaos personified. You can buy a ticket with no problem, but getting onto the bus is a nightmare. We stood in the hot sun for 45 minutes waiting for a bus at the starting point. They simply didn't have enough buses. Once on-board, the narration audio didn't work and the bus driver didn't stop at any of the assigned stopping points, even when were pressed the "Stop" button. In Sintra, there were no signs indicating the pick-up point and I watched the driver pass several people who tried to flag him down, even though there was plenty of room on the bus. Portugal's hop-on hop-off buses are a massive rip-off. Don't take my word for it. Check the Travelocity reviews. They are consistently rated one or two stars by travelers.
Totally agree!! We had to wait nearly 1 and a half hours! I think using one of theses tuk tuk, where they take you to all the sights is far more of worth, since they don't even take you to sights. Wish I knew before.
I’m on the JFK airport waiting for a last min trip to Europe and I think I’ll just add all the pints you have mentioned in Google maps and follow your recommendations. Thank you so much!
Lagos and Albufeira are not Portugal (officially they are). Algarve is a huge resort area but it has nothing to do with Portugal. If you want to get to know the real Portugal, head north..
Very good video. Thank you for showing Lisbon to the world. For all Photography enthusiasts out there, if you're coming to Lisbon look up Photograph Lisbon's guided photo tours!
In a 2-3 day Lisbon itinerary, you have the opportunity to visit all of Lisbon's main tourist attractions and comfortably enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the city. A three-day trip to Lisbon will also allow you to explore the main historical neighborhoods such as Belém, Rossio, Chiado, Alfama, Baixa, Bairro Alto. It also offers the opportunity to take a day trip, for example, to the UNESCO-listed Sintra and the old fishing village of Cascais, which is now a Portuguese tourist destination famous for its beaches, notable for its marina and lively harbours. If you want to add some relaxation time to the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, you can easily spend a full week in Lisbon and its surroundings. There's no need to book a day trip to Sintra or a trip to Cascais or Cristo do Rei separately, as you'll be able to easily visit all these major sights and things to do in Lisbon with public transport. Another travel tip would be to take a trip from Lisbon to Porto to the Algarve.
For surfers, it is best to go to Lisbon in winter (due to the big waves). Travelers who consider their budget will probably make their choices around January and February (these are the cheapest months). Beach lovers and those who are fond of the sun and warm weather should go to Lisbon in July, August and September; These months are the hottest months.
It would be better on transitions to zoom out map fully and show the point on the Lisbon's full map. That helps to make a list of sightseeings based on some area.

@@angelenergia2163 my advice would be to start Day 1 with a tour of the city to get your bearings. That really helped a lot since Lisbon isn't like a Paris or London with all of it's cool stuff "in your face". Lisbon is very subtle so you need the inside scoop from a local or tour guide. Also be sure to take a day trip to Sintra (it's only a 40 minute train ride) and be sure to visit Pena Palace. Just awesome!
