Thank you for bringing that up. My sister had sever acne on her face and relatives and friends kept saying that it was because she never washed her face. That led her to using extreme skincare products and routines before finally giving up hating and ignoring her skin.
Some people are just horrible. Be nice to people with acne, they have mirrors, they know and they’ve tried everything they could.
I completely agree. I've had that for so long, and I keep getting comments on whether I wash my face. I obviously do, and it doesn't always have to deal with the skin care routine ✨🙇♀️

If your new here’s some skincare knowledge!
1: We Stan the ordinary, the inky list, youth to the people,cerea VE,krave beauty, Paulas choice and curology.
2: We dislike Mario badescu, clean and clear, most of neutrogena products, most of tatcha products, kiley skin, pixi skin and many more
3: fragrance is a BIG no. It can can cause many problems like irritation, rashes, pimples, acne and many more
4: Mario badescu sprays are just fragrance in water m💧
5: makeup wipes do more harm than good ( for your skin and the environment)
6: double cleanse if you wear makeup and or sunscreen
7: chemical exfoliating is way better than physical exfoliating
8: everyone’s skin is different
9: everyone needs to moisturize even if you have oily skin
10: use what works for you
11: fragrance is fine in a wash off treatment but not on a leave on treatment like moisturizer, surum, essence etc
12: be gentle with your skin
13: natural is not always better
14: sunscreen is the most important part of a skin care routine and should be used after everything else
15: eye creams are just expensive moisturizers and are not necessary , just use your regular moisturizer
16: our enemy is st. Ives apricot scrub😳
17: diy skincare is a no, most of them use essential oils (which are just as irritating as regular fragrance) and any of the good benefits that you could be getting from the ingredients are most like lost when you cut the fruit or vegetable open
18: enjoy yourself while doing your skincare and think of it as your you time
19: try to recycle ♻️ your empty skincare containers
20: a good and simple routine should have 4 steps,cleanser(this includes cleansing balms, oils etc), exfoliate, moisturizer, and the most important of them all, sunscreen.
21: ingredients to avoid. Denatured/SD alcohol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, polyvinyl alcohol(avoid these when they are in the first 6 ingredients). Avoid fragrance/parfum. Avoid fragrant essential oils (they are okay if they are at the end of the ingredient list). And avoid citrus extracts (lime, orange, lemon etc)

I love the concept of acne positivity. The media teaches us its gross/ unnatural. I've also suffered from acne, face and body. Watching hyrams videos has helped me reign it in and prevent things from getting out of control. Its still a battle...constant battle. People making you feel bad or insecure doesn't help, and honestly makes the situation worse.
So thankyou, for overall being such a positive voice.

@@pufferffish yeah my parents used to count my black heads, and buy me things to cover up my pimples. It was a psychological mess that led me to telling people they were cold sores instead of pimples. In a way I guess that's my acne horror story lol. It took me years to not feel like I had to apologise for my skin.
Skincare is an art form, some things will work for some but some won’t, and each style Is unique in their own way

Helmut Brunner Its not a bad option, he has talked about it and says the ingredients are very basic and very thick so you won’t be getting many benefits but it does the trick for moisturizer!

When Hyram talked about CeraVe and how it doesn’t work for everyone I related because even though I know TONS of people who use it and it works wonders for them I had a moisturizer that when I would put it in my face would start to burn and I was younger so I was like oh it’s normal but once I forgot it when I went on a vacation and my skin got way better. Once again this is just my story and don’t be scared to try out CeraVe because of this if you haven’t already and Hyram keep spreading acne positivity! ❤

PREACH I absolutely *hate* when people say "do you have a skincare routine?" "do you wash your face" "Have you tried ___" because even if it comes from a good place, if you can see it, then Lord knows *I* can. It's on my face!! I know it's there. If I don't ask for your advice, please don't give it.
The girls in my school are like, “GIRL! You need to watch skincare by hyram, you need to use skincare.” And then they go on and on about how bad my skin is and recommends products to me, yet they act like everyone has normal and good skin.
Yet my skincare routine is :
(I have oily skin!)
1. Cleanser(s)
Youth to the people Superfood cleanser
Or Herbivore Pink Cloud cleanser
2. Toner or Face mist
Herbivore Green Tea toner
3. Serums or Oils
The ordinary Caffeine solution
(My favorite!)
4. Moisturizer
Pink cloud Moisturizer (herbivore)
5. Sunscreen
Neogen sunscreen with spf of 59
If you have any recommendations please say! :D
@@ashleychou3296 I pefer you use the ordinary becuase they also have there own specific face combinations for differnt skin types (my sister suffers with acne but now that's she's using the ordinary there is a huge differnt in her skin)

Here's my skin routine:
🧊- simple toner
🧊-Garnier facial cleanse
🧊-CeraVe moistrure
🧊-Bio oil
💙Also here are some small tips
🌀Never use body towels to dry your face
🌀Don't use clean&clear
🌀Drink lemon with cucumber it helps hydrate the body
🌀When shaving your 😺 if you use
Wax make sure to exfoliate becuase when your skin has no hair dead skin starts to form do if you dont exfoliate the hairs have no where to go becuase the dead skin is trapping it and it creates ingrown (I know it has nothing to do with skin care but I thought it was interesting)
🌀Eat healthy becuase if you eat a lot of junk it can show on your face
🌀Stay hydrated
🌀Don't wear makeup it can cause some real problems (talking from experience) and make sure to wash your face before going bed you won't regret it
🐟Reminder also you having acne dosent change anything its natural and it's who we are and it will go eventually 🐋

Your outlook on having acne and we need to support each other and not judge ppl more ppl need to take ur advice cause it can cause low self esteem and its not always a persons fault for acne or bad skin. It life noone is perfect and alot of ppl out there need to open there eyes and see that.

@@fairfight9857 Yeah of course! So the main issue with St Ives is that the granules in it that are used to exfoliate are really large and also uneven in size. Although the short term results may look nice (which is why a lot of people keep using it), it can lead to irritation and skin damage over time. This really brings into question the entire physical vs chemical exfoliant debate as a whole. Many physical exfoliants like St Ives, which use physical granules to exfoliate the skin, tend to have this same problem. St Ives is just one of the most clearly problematic. I personally would reccomend going for a chemical exfoliant in general. I really like the Lactic Acid from the Ordinary or the 2% BHA exfoliant from Paulas Choice. These are going to be a lot more gentle in exfoliating your skin than something like St Ives :))

I'd love to see you react to skin routines of dark skin men or women. I've been watching your videos for so long and want to incorporate your suggestions into my skin care routine. But also don't know how some products will be on darker skin (Like the products the "brighten or lighten dark spots). I’ve seen your video “skin care is inclusive … or is it?” And I loved to watch it but I’d also love to have suggestions of brands or products that will work as well or good for a dark skin person. When I watch your channel I feel more confident in my self you make me feel so good every day sometimes I try to embrace my acne but when it gets really bad I will use an acne treatment for a couple days love you🥰
I remember in grade 12 I had so much of pimples and hyperpigmentation on my face
And I was self conscious of them and I had low self esteem . So there was this girl in my school that used to call me “pimple face” I was so hurt
I mean how was it my fault that I broke out when I was super clean and did my skin care
People are horrible
And I’m so grateful to Jesus that my skin is clear and I would never put someone else down for having acne because it’s not right.
Things that helped me were…
* Avoiding processed sugar
* avoid picking my face
* washing my pillow cases
* using SPF every day
* drinking warm water instead of cold water
* exercising
* a good skin care routine that works best for your skin ( just because one thing worked marvellously for someone else doesn’t mean it may work necessarily for you it’s best to go to a dermatologist to check what your skin needs)

I have very stubborn acne and I’ve tried like everything. It’s not super bad but it’s all over my back, chest, and some on my nose, forehead and around my hairline. It’s just really irritating to deal with but I’m not super insecure and I use your videos to help me stay positive and find better products! I also recently had a doctors visit and found out it’s hormonal acne and am on mild medication and I think it’s helping a lot! 10:14 I struggle with acne that makes me insecure so I was using multiple products with acid every day and one day I had what can only be called a minor chemical burn on my face. I stopped using the products every day and switched to more gentle products and my skin was so much happier. Moral is that sometimes a gentler option is better in the long run and to keep your more aggressive things to once a week.
The biggest burn any product can ever get is ‘use it as a foot scrub’ but Hyram still says it in the nicest way.
I realised weather, diet and hormones have alot more to do with acne then your actual skincare routine. You can have an amazing skin care routine but there is so many other underlying reasons. Just be gentle with your skin.

The little girl who has a skincare routine is so nostalgic to me, I also started a skincare routine around her age. Lucky for her that she has someone like you to provide good skincare advice. Back in the day I used clean & clear, then I moved onto proactiv. What finally cleared my skin up was prescription azelaic acid cream from my GP, but the skincare brand that changed it all for me was Avène. I’m relatively new to your channel and I don’t know if you’ve talked about Avène before but I’d love to hear what you think of their products.

I love that you talked about not giving unsolicited skincare advice or making rude comments. When I was a teenager I saw a therapist because I was having some pretty serious mental health issues, and the therapist said "You know, I don't think you have [diagnosis], I think your problem is that you have low self esteem due to your acne. I can refer you to my best friend, who's a dermatologist." Holy shit that was so inappropriate, and 13 year old me never once had insecurities about my acne until that dude said something.
