We try our best to defeat Umbra in Morrowind! Can we accomplish it at Level 1? Do we prepare for the fight adequately? Will Umbra be harder then Vivec? Maybe...
A-ha-ha, man you should really work for Russian news. Such a useful talent to see facts from such a perspective that one could draw incriminative conclusions.
Dunno if anyone gives a damn but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the latest movies and series on Instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my brother for the last few weeks =)
Beat Umbra at level 5 in Oblivion thanks to the atronach sign. It negated 50% of umbra's sword strike while recharging my magic. This allowed me to continuously heal through the fight.
I beat Umbra at level 1 in Oblivion. Here's how: I went to her ruin thing, and shot her with an arrow. Then I ran like hell, she followed. I swam across the water back to the imperial city and hopped on top of the roofs in the Waterfront district. I bounced around on them because she'd eventually be able to hit me if I stood still. Guard after guard came out and tried to attack her, i'd get in shots with the occasional arrow if I could. I think it took about half an hour.
He gave me hell in Skyrim playing exclusively with archery weapons. Tbf I did fight him at a rather low level, and it requires as much cheesing as possible to take him down by jumping to areas he would need to run around the long way to reach me so I could pop off some explosive bolts while that dip-shit had to run all the way around to get to me.
Watching you struggle with Wolverine Hall made me feel a little better. One time, I spent roughly an hour just walking through the corridors looking for the mages guild
My grandpa once said "we dont go to wolverine hall." his words haunted me for many years then one day when I was lost in wolverine hall I pulled up the map to look for a way out and it all made sense.
what i love about umbra is that everything he said he did in his life is actually believable. the dude is a one-man army by base game morrowind standards and could probably kill the tribunal and dagoth ur easily if he ever felt so inclined. compare with sjoring hard-heart, "one of the strongest men in morrowind", i've fought reanimated bones tougher than him.
@@randomdude2546 no, eventually the sword corrupts the mind so much to where the wielder forgets who they were, which is why they call themselves umbra.
All you do to get to umbra is use the standard rising force potion that you find in the adamasartus bandit cave near sedya neen. Go to suran and head to the outside door on the top level of the slave master house and levitate diagonally to the left over the hill and there's umbra. You can even cheese him by shooting arrows at him on the hill behind where he stands and he can't attack you.
Conjuration + Bound Long Bow + a large stack of arrows (Fighter's Guild offers them like free candy) works wonders. In the vanilla version you could also make a Calm Humanoid 1p spell (long duration) to completely pacify him. This way you could attack him without him even trying to attack back. Some of patches fixes the exploit with Calm effects, but back in the day, you could go crazy with them.
Not a failure or a trainwreck. You did it! FYI you can grab a full set of bonemould armor in Aldrhun, in the structure closest to the silt strider (call pot in the back) iirc it's been a decade since I played.
Umbra is the sword but eventually consumes the mind of whoever wields it and absorbs their consciousness it is basically the combined souls of all its wielders making a new entity known as "Umbra" it's why it uses the name.
I want to thank you a lot! Ive started playing TES series from Oblivion - much love for Skyrim, BUT because of your videos ive actually purchased Morrowind in steam and finished it - and its THE BEST TES ever! Actually in house where Creeper is you can get few pieces of an Orcish Armor. These are in the box placed on the last floor. Orcs actually don't give a damn about those items
Pro tip: If you go to Ald'Ruhn, in the guard towers some of the crates/barrels have a full set of bonemold in them that you can take without any bounty
I beat umbra at Level 7... my best record ever back in 2004, I remember writing it down and framing it. Awarded myself way before YT was this big and was changed forever... old (former) RUclips = best RUclips. Glad to see you do this video m8... bloody good attempt
Honestly I’m surprised your mind doesn’t snap during some of these challenge runs, and just use the stat bug to make yourself an eternal god that 1 shots anything.
I'm alittle late and you probably know this now. But the sujamma seller with the restocking inventory can buy all your sujammas and add it to their restocking inventory. So with a little time of buying and selling sujamma she'll always stock more than you'd ever need.
All your Morrowind videos are giving me the itch to play again. I used to play it on the Xbox, it took a while to load some stuff and it would crash every so often but boy did I enjoy every second I played. I might have to buy on Steam soon.
If you want to get op at level 1, the best way I’ve found is to first get the ebony from the mine near balmora, then go to ebonheart and start tribunal, then you do this quest(forgot the name) where that person kills the high ordinator in godsreach, unlocking the door with ekash’s lock splitter, then finally getting a daedric dai katana from the egg mine near mount assarnibibi (I think that’s how you spell it)
when it comes to umbra i just use a longblade/marksman character then pop a scroll of windwalking and throw darts at him till he falls over, suran has a couple of merchants that give you access to some really good throwing knives and darts and if you have high strength you can typically take him down pretty fast.
I managed to pull this feat off eons ago before RUclips existed, lol. Made an argonian warrior to max out the polearm skill as much as I could, then picked up a few Steel Halberds in Ald'Rhun (I think that's how it's spelled) and some kind of throwable/ranged weapon. Got up on the rocks behind where Umbra stands, used ranged attack to aggro him, then stood just out of his reach up on the rocks and poked him to death. Took like 20 damn minutes and broke 2 of the halberds in the process, but I had his sword at level 1 afterwards. Yeah, it's incredibly cheesy/exploity but given the ass beating he can dish out, I consider it evening the odds, lul

For early money, i always steel that expensive tray in the shelf right next to the the guy giving you your papers. I steal it and imediately drop it. I also kind of expected you to steal the Orcish Armor from Creeper's house while you were there anyway.

I managed to get umbra at level 10. But, it doesn't trap souls, which was one of the reasons I went after it. How in the world do I get this sword to work?
