I had the pleasure of being stood at the front at this gig and I also met Jimi afterwards. For the whole set I was just stood there in complete awe seeing my 80’s hero. It is still one of the most iconic moments in my life.
Many times I have cried listening to Jimi, for many reasons, Jimi loved his fans so much, and knowing that in his personal life he was not happy that breaks my heart,😞😢
I’d make it Jimi for pleasure of listening to even if singing a phone book, Freddie for range, Arnel Pineda for Journey longevity, then Steve for getting Journey noticed.
Why Jimi Jamison should be in Hall Of Fame. This one greatest classic hit song. Awesome band . Thank You two thumbs up. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️God bless him up in heaven now. Nice bring back classic hits songs. Fans enjoy so much though years. Thank You 🙏
One of my biggest regrets in this life is not getting to see Jimi Jameson in a live concert. This taught me in the cruelest fashion that whoever thinks that he can suspend any action because "there is always tomorrow" is an idiot. You never know when it might be your last chance to do something in this life.. RIP Mr. Jameson.. Every song you sang manages to give me that electrifying feeling that you get on your skin caused by pure joy and excitement..i will never stop being grateful for you and your band's music and for what it does to me..
I saw Jimi Jamison with Survivor in concert 4 times, the last time being in 2012, and this song is my all-time favorite of Survivor with him on lead vocals. I've actually been compared to him as far as my voice 4 times. I would have LOVED to have seen both a Jimi Jamison solo performance (meaning when he was performing his own songs) and a Survivor concert with both him and Dave Bickler, who was the lead singer on Eye of the Tiger.
No matter what year it was Jimi ROCKED !!!! They DO NOT make singers like this anymore. The passion and love for music and entertaining people was what he was born to do. Great music that actually takes amazing talent. He will deeply be missed. R.I.P. Jimi and thank you for the great music.
David Franklin Well said I STILL miss hearing this guy . I have to make do with the work he did . Growing up he was one of my favourite singers ! That still holds to this day as I approach 50 years of age !
I feel the same way I miss him so much. It's December a few weeks before Christmas 🎄 and his videos keep showing up in my phone. I'm going out and buy all of his music I see you in everyone 😂😂😂😭😭. 2020.
Should have been inducted when he was alive. He certainly deserves it and more. Who else can perform their songs this great decades after? He was such an under appreciated artist...its hearbreaking thinking about it. You can see the passion in all his performances. ❤
What a voice, one of the best rock/pop singers ever in my opinion, in a league of his own. Anything said about Jimi is an understatement. Made me appreciate how much emotion can be conveyed through singing, gives me goosebumps every time. Incredible that he could still sing like this 30 years on. Wish he was still with us. RIP Jimi.
If you like Jimi you might want to look into bands like Cobra & Target. His earlier stuff is really good. Here's Cobra ruclips.net/video/KZdaIVW1l10/видео.html
All of these guys, Perry, Gramm, Walsh, Delp, Jamison, sure I'm missing some others. All of these guys have this near operatic tone, ring and soulfulness that goes right into you.
Need to include one Freddy Mercury, as well as Mickey Thomas, Dennis DeYoung and Tommy Shaw. AND BOBBY FUCKING KIMBALL. Amazing vocals in that era. Vital Signs is still one of my favorite albums.
Wow...this performance is totally awesome. I'm always inspired by all of his songs that he had sang with Survivor and solo. He had such an unique voice to really listen to and to understand them. The most incredible part is at 5:25 when He sneaks back on the stage and sings. It would be nice if he could do that in real life, I have always been a huge fan of his music because they help me to overcome my cerebral palsy and listening to his songs while I ride my bike. He is just so awesome...just so awesome!!!! RIP Jimi you are a legend and always were and always will be. I think of you everyday...
I do agree. Every single day I listen to his music. It lifts my spirits. I blast it in my car. I wear headphones everywhere. I just wish I could have seen him live. He passed away a month before my mom. What a horrible year for me. If only I could bring them both back.
I have no words for the moment he starts singing at 5:25... It's heart wrenching but in a good way. Really miss Jimi. He's like a good friend I know although I've never seen him in person.
It's impossible to match him. This really is the best performance ever of a musical masterpiece and especially a lyrical one. This is about the saddest kind of loss there is- losing someone and knowing they'll never come back, but you're longing for them so much they haunt you. I write about love and death and stuff in my lyrics sometimes in fact oftentimes I write about that question that awful question "Would You Give Your Life For The One You Love?" I'm the kind who would. The only thing that matters is love.
Slight twist to my current predicament: I've "lost" the one, except that I still see her almost every day. I cam feel her heartbeat, I see her in the mirrors, I hear her footsteps on the hallway. Really. Well, I guess it isn't as bad as really losing someone and never seei.g them physically again. All but a distant memory.
Rest in peace. Grateful to be able to listen to your voice and continue to appreciate the music. Easy to say you were the best male rock vocalist ever. And gratifying to hear and read what a nice person you were.😔
Jimmi was a true icon, amazing performer and brought 80s music to life. We will never forget. The heat members are awesome and this song rocks with them.
Jimi is on fire burning down the house tonight. I see you in everyone l love this man ❣️😍 and this song. It's making me crazy God how much I love listening and seeing Jimi jamming. He was so much better than the credit that he got. He gave us a short life time of his beautiful voice and songs. I will always be listening to Jimi jamison songs that he sings for the rest of my life ❤️❤️😍.l will always and forever be so high on you 2020.
Let's consider ourselves lucky to be able to watch listen to this honor smartphones luckily for me I do have this 45 on my jukebox and of course I've got the cassette vital signs play anytime I want if we don't keep the good stuff playing nobody ever will
Soooooooooooooooo Jimi - this was his element. Firefest performances he was on literally on fire. His soul with light his heart free. Check out all the Firefest video's. Some of his best ROCK N Performances. He literally brings the songs to life.Tommy and the guys the acoustics are Fab!!!! Please check out Jimi's last CD release NEVER TOO LATE. Some awesome stuff ... Request his music on the radio waves. It was something Jimi wanted. RIP dear friend. Your Legacy will Forever live on.
And The Amazing point was that He Was 59 years old when He Performed, still sounding as It was 1985, Amazing Vocals, Amazing Gift, God Bless Him Mr. Jimi Jameson, You Will Always Be in Our Hearts and Soul!....
I feel thankful to have heard this performed when their summer 2002 made it to the area where I grew up, though I had zero knowledge of most of the songs. (Though Frankie Sullivan certainly wailed, I bet he would starve for chops like Tommy’s.) Jimi Jamison is very much missed.
A Rock Legend,SEXY as well!😘IRREPLACEABLE UNDERRATED Jimi Jamison!😎😭Love and miss u!💕The 80s rocked!😀2021 still listening too this incredible man!Hope too see you on the streets of heaven!Rip💕
I just love Jimi's voice and he is simply irreplaceable. I can't wait until the Resonating Voices;: The Jimi Jameson Documentary is complete and ready to view. It is going to be fantastic listening to many of the musicians he worked with speak to his excellence. Such a special man and voice.
Absolutely awesome, I love during live shows when bands change things up like altering the middle section of this great song, and guitarist Tommy's solo? Wow! I like not hearing the songs always played the exact same way during live shows.

Wow you were so blessed to be able to see Jimi and listen to his magical voice. He's a Rock Star in my eyes. Miss you so much ❤🙏❤️🙏
He was more than a rock star, because he sang any genre, even country music he recorded, Jimi was adorable, with a fantastic voice!💕 alway missed!
When I feel down and depressed, I listen to him and I feel like a legend again.
I watched him singing today (on yt oc) and don't know why but I shed some tears just because he sounds so awesome. His voice really lifts you up.
oh my Jimi I would be very excited and flattered to hear what you say, thank you for loving Jimi! 💕
Many times I have cried listening to Jimi, for many reasons, Jimi loved his fans so much, and knowing that in his personal life he was not happy that breaks my heart,😞😢
One of the best singers of my lifetime. Along with Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury
I’d make it Jimi for pleasure of listening to even if singing a phone book, Freddie for range, Arnel Pineda for Journey longevity, then Steve for getting Journey noticed.
Don't forget the amazing Layne Staley!
Survivor had so many Great songs ! And without Jimi they never were the same again !!!!!

Excellent post! I totally Agree. Never got to see/hear the man, the voice. R.I.P Jimi.
I had tickets "still got them unused" as he passed 4 weeks before he came to the UK a sad loss

@jimi jamison They are LEGEND. Kings Of AOR.
Jimi Jamison was a master songwriter!!! It's a shame he left this life in 2014...it was far too soon.
Time will not let us forget this lovely man with his amazing voice and unique style.
This dude could sing so well. I wish people these days had this vocal skill
What a sad loss to the world - a masterful singer
Why isn't Jimi Jamison in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
i agree
Because Jimi was too good for them . If they didn't see how special he was , then they dont deserve to have any part of him !
Agreed
We have tired ... While he was alive. He definitely deserves it s such heart and talent. Beautiful man he was .... Missed
Should have been inducted when he was alive. He certainly deserves it and more.

This is my favorite song off the Vital Signs album
this song is imortal one of my favorite everlasting band of all time
One of my top influences. Jimi's tone ,passionate delivery and solid pitch accuracy is so rare and under rated. RIP brother.
Agreed. You don't have to falsetto to sound great. Jimi just had great depth and tone.
And he has a southern accent I never knew till years ago
Jimi Jamison, Lou Gramm, Steve Perry. Top 3 AOR vocalists
Jimi Jamison é o maior

Saw survivior in concert twice in the late 80's they were so awesome so underrated
That heart-wrenching start at 5:25
Tommy shined on that song and when you put Jimi with great players, he outshines them all with that voice. Gone way too soon.
Magic night, the whole band was hitting on all cylinders. Wish I could have been there.
