Great performance! One of the best covers “of Up, up and away” and “going out of my head/can’t take my eyes off you”. love the Lettermen’s Las Vegas nightclub sound that seemed to still be relevant by the time 1968 came around with different acts like Jimi Hendrix, big brother and the holding Company yet the Lettermen still flourished! 🇺🇸👌👍
This time, better microphone sound, compared to the other clip, Walk on By in another TV show. Also, the show could now afford to provide individual microphones.😁 I love this set of Lettermen! Always.
This is a great version - and I love all of the Pike/Butala arrangements indeed, but there's something about Bob Engemann in the mix that makes you say, "Oh yeah....that's it!" That original Pike, Butala, Engemann line-up was the best of all of them. That said, I also think that Reunion more captures that original Lettermen sound than the current Lettermen line-up.
You're probably right, but I do believe that Gary Pike has done justice in his job as Bob's replacement. 😀He, too, has the Lettermen voice and great personality: tall and handsome, just like Jim.
So refreshing, after hearing some of today’s music. I have always loved the Lettermen ❤
thank you so much for sharing.
At their finest -- and it sounds like a live performance. My favorite Lettermen lineup.
