For me I collect them for the look and have them displayed with some sort of 'realistic' pose. However I am also older and as a kid played with static toys and used my imagination. Yet like most of us I am sure that we have limited room. And so I am in agreeance with Brian overall. Either way thank you for producing our favourite Thundercats!
The lack of articulation isn't an issue for me with their figures. It's the loose joints, bad paint, and plastic that breaks right out out the box, all at a premium price tag.
Fab interview and chat as always. At least Brian now knows who Safari Joe is!!!..😊 If we are to get another Beserker I'm hoping its Ram Bam Perhaps The Enflamor, Tugmar and Plutar.. Those would rock...🤞🍻🇬🇧
I'm ok with the articulation because I'm not playing with them or taking photos. Good callout on the Snarf vinyl. I have the Peanuts line and it's great.
At the end of the day I agree with Brian on the articulation thoughts. Articulation is over rated. I prefer a cooler looking figure. Reasonable posing. I pose 'em rarely, they display on a shelf. As for toy photographers, they're a small fraction of total collectors and there's plenty of other lines for that. With Ultimates I want the characters I loved peeled from the animation and put on my shelf.
Same here. I don’t pose mine at all. I prefer a static and straightforward pose(like an animation model sheet). Generally, they stay that way on the shelf.
What a great interview. And you get interviewer of the Year from me for mentioning Blackstar to Bryan. Honestly that would be the first IP I get every one of from them. (It would have been thundercats. It's just way too many figures so I knew I had to be selective) Thank u super 7 for All you do for the adult collector. Don't let up on the reaction figures, you still have to do legend, never ending story, and many more. And I agree with you. Brian, aesthetics over articulation
Brian said around 15:45 “ I didn’t say necessarily big, I thought it was something cool”, I believe it could be Luna and amok from Lunataks, I am 95% sure!
I don’t think there is anything else I want more is to have a Luna & Amok combo set, especially when this will be the first time they became figures/toys! Another figure I would want S7 to make/consider is the Berbils, the Wolos, the Unicorn people, and Snowmeow!
I wouldn't change the articulation style and i for one would definitely be in on a Maraj. Just like the cats lair you make it work. Bring on the Miraj and TigerSharks.
Thanks for asking about the Miraj! I have $1000 put back waiting on it, just like I had for the Cats Lair, so lets hope it gets made no matter how huge it might be! Thanks for mentioning the Blackstar toy line near the end of the interview. I would totally support that, if nothing more than John Blackstar, Overlord, and Warlock!
I agree completely with Brian on his stance on articulation. I would like to see them get more out of their single joints, similar to modern Legions figures.
37:57 he just went into this whole soliloquy about a figure being represented in a way that people remember it then says well it’s all subjective. Come on Brian!!!!
A lot of people want the ghost jaga because they missed . People want Tygra and he can have three variant, in the cartoon he appears with a grey uniform also and more blue uniform. And a Pumyra with the same height as Cheetara. At first, I thought Alluro was small, but after having him in hands, he looked okay. I think Vultureman is.over sized.
I totally agree with everything said about double joints vs single joints, I collect for aesthetics, I dont need spaghetti man for poses especially since extreme poses make figures more likely to shelf dive. Enjoy these types of interviews, its great Brian does these as most other toy makers prefer radio silence.
I have 3 ghost jagas so if he makes more is whatever for me but 1 thing Brian could do that's different but same results is make a blue gitd ghost jaga for those who missed the1st round and everyone one else I would totally buy that❤
I understand Bryan point on articulation, I don't need the figures to be like Amazing Yamaguchi, BUT Super7 have many figures that I don't disagree where the cuts are made or even the single joint, the point is DO they actually work? All Silverhawks had so much problem on their joints (and proportions) that it threw me off of the entire line altogether even if I love those characters' designs. In the Thundercats line the worst offender form me was Cheetara, yes she looks good standing but that's THE one character that running poses is the go to pose, and it's quite a chore to do it and it really doesn't look all that good.
The worst figure I have had in 20 years is their Ultimate Tygra, that shit is a brick that can pose or sit, knees and elbow dont even get to 90 degress, is just trash
😂😂😂 worst than GRUNE?? LOL Tygra is decent, but yeah his articulation aren't 90 degrees just 80.. not a big deal! But the intense orange on the fur is what PISSED ME OFF!!! So I still don't know WHY FLYNN didn't stop the Shipping of Tygra & Grune to do a re tooling of the details that was missing. Companies like Premium DNA Toys do that. They took extra time to correct stuff and then shipped their corrected products to make happy to every single customers.
I’m pretty sure way more people want ghost Jaga than a repainted Panthro. 100% agree with Brian: aesthetic should be prioritised. Best example are Masterverse. How ugly are those figures compared to Classics. Just bc of double joints
maybe initially, but most people that wanted it probably got it. I think more people want the toy repaint of Panthro for a couple reasons because he's one of the most popular characters and has yet to get even one variant. Thankfully, sounds like a couple Panthro items are on the way.
I'm down for whatever but seriously what variant is available for Panthro? I've thought about it a lot. There just wasn't much to work with from the cartoon unless you do the whole team from Exodus prior to costumes and weapons. I'd rather have have new characters than a repainted Panthro.
@@donnysboy1 they’ve already done repainted versions of Lion-o and Cheetara, and maybe Tygra, I can’t recall, but at least the main team has to be completed in toy repaints. And most of the Lion-O figs are essentially repaints (well, recasts in the same mold) - except young Lion-O. Maybe “spitting image” Panthro where near the end the doppelgänger is greenish? Also, Panthro can get a weapons pack for the special functions of his spikes and chucks.
23:43 no, it's the difference in what the S7 Cheetara figure *_can't_* do as a runner. Not only can she not do dynamic, leaning sprint poses like the toon, 30:10, her run poses are limited to that of a toddler running. Even her classic standing poses like her twirling the bo staff, or even holding it behind her doesn't can't be pulled off, nor have her looking like a feline athlete in pristine shape, but more like a 40yr old mom that's in decent shape. What a disappointment to have her delayed, only for what was eventually produced to be mediocre... 😕
I dont mind about double joints , single joint is okay but it.should bend .. Tygra's knees dont even bend proper 😂 He cant sit on the tank , you ca t bend his knees. C'omon.
Brian is just stubborn when it comes to articulation ! We're paying $55+ dollars for figures with crappy articulation. You can tell the topic of articulation pisses him off !
He gets pissed off about when people ask about the price point at 55, he got pissed off. when the Rataro was listed at 55 he said is a bigger figure should be 65... meanwhile Snarf a small figure is still 55 his logic is all about living a good life in California.
I understand where Brian is coming from in regards to articulation but he also has to understand that double joints are now the industry standard and implementing them greatly increases the value for what we are paying. Now making the articulation look good is something that can be done. Mcfarlane makes absolutely hideous looking joints, Marvel legends double joints on some of their figures look seamless. So it just depends how it is done. One thing Super7 excels on is playsets and vehicles. Can't wait for that awesome Cats Lair!
Don’t generalise. I wouldn’t buy Ultimates of they have that ugly double joint. That changes the feeling. Best example are the best in the Industry (the4horsemen) they are still using single joints. Double break the aesthetics.
@jcmedinaceli Not generalizing just simply starting my opinion. Sure you can get very nice looking double joints that look seamless, a good example of this is the Selects Captain America. That thing is beautiful. If done right it can work.
Much of the time Brian's justifications about articulation seem like part cost savings (gotta make that $54 a figure after all) and part selfishness about what he prefers. That said I completely agree that double joints are essentially an industry standard now and he needs to get with the times
@@LEGENDKILLER900you upset about California?? Brian living there has nothing to do with him being an ahole. Where do you live? I bet you’re an ahole because of where you live too, by your logic. 😂😂😂😂
