Did two windows with these instructions and, while it worked eventually, it was a real pain. Second two windows, I opened the windows, unhooked the silver arms (one at top, two at bottom), pulled out the old weatherstrip and inserted the new. No swearing needed. This is what worked better for me.

Totally agree. Ignore this video. It is unnecessary, difficult and even dangerous to remove the window.

for the second try - are you saying you did not remove the window, but replace the seal with it mounted on the frame?

@@davidcreedon3262 Yes. Worked just fine with the window still supported by the hinges.

Thank you for saying this. After watching this and other videos I was thinking "why can't you do this while the window is still attached?"
I suppose the answer is that removed you can clean the window much more thoroughly, but holy shit did I sweat up a storm and swear about fearing I would break the window.
Next time I will try it without removing the window.

Absolutely! Removing the window is easy. Putting it back near impossible without two people. Even then, stopping the top and bottom shoes from spinning out of alignment with the track is a nightmare.

What about the rest of the weatherstripping on the 400 window?
