When was the last time we said thank you for your service to a teacher? vs a military services person whom was taught by a teacher; most likely not to go to war or into the military services division(s). Why aren't our teachers getting 10% off or a TA -Teachers loan like a i.e. VA veterans affairs loan? Teachers are educating our humans not to engage in violence, wars, to deescalate vs escalate problems, solutions over blind orders. If knowledge is power we sure are treating the resource like garbage as a human race. Any remarks that teachers have unions and pensions; needs a reality check in the 21st century teachers pensions are gone (spent or ruined by the local governments) and unions are dried up powerless entities.

Uhhh teachers have lesson plans and grading to do. It’s not like they can relax after a day full of dealing with students who generally don’t want to be there. When the bell rings, that doesn’t mean their work day is over. They also have to take classes outside of work every year to stay up to date with what is being taught.
I never understood people who said teachers are under appreciated or not giving enough attention until i met my high school teacher
My old teachers rly didnt care about teaching because u know its a government school

He gets up at 6am and leaves the school at 10pm and still does so much for us outside of school

I studied for two years in dubai, and all my teachers were the absolute best, and I couldn't believe it because before that I had studied in Pakistan ( karachi) and the school system there is just horrendous

i remember distracting my teacher from teaching by asking about his love life or what it was like back in college etc. and he would get sucked into talking about it for 30 mins straight, which worked every time in his case😂 but the girls in my class were really annoyed abt it hahahaha

I know right. I make $13.80 an hour and I’m working in SpED. Love what I do, love the kids I teach, but pay is nothing.
I teach in a private school. Take that average and cut it in half. Which is something I knew going in, and I make it work, but my goodness it's a challenge sometimes.

The beginning is so true like I can’t be constantly doing homework during the weekdays and weekends. Like there is no break, also I hate it when a teacher assign an assignment during time off (e.g. winter, spring break,etc.) There is constantly so much stress going on in our head: remembering deadlines, class schedule, assignments that was assigned, maintaining good grades, maintain our mental health, etc.
For my opinion I think they shouldn't assign homework on holidays or in weekends, I mean that's what holidays are for, relaxing, spending time with family, reading books, etc., though I am very thankful they are sticking with us even if we all are having a hard time!

Teachers are super underpaid. In the Philippines, the basic salary for a teacher is 12,500 PHP or 257.92 dollars. They do clerical work outside their teaching jobs like doing paper works and other stuff that is outside their job description.

Y'all in the replies, this is super normal for people outside of the US, Canada, and Britain. We have an entirely different section of the internet too yk. I remember discovering "English internet" and it was entiiiiiiirely new. Buzzfeed was always an English speaker thing.
Rachel is a beautiful young lady ,seems like she has the personality to match as well, I can see her doing more buzz feed episodes if she hasn't already.
I'm in college so it's different but it's usually at the end of each semester where we get a huge ton of homework and workloads so I can say that the teachers who are giving too much homework are a good opportunity for you to be able to grasp your situation in the future.

well where I live there is no high school or middle school. There is just grade 1, 2 and up to 12
It depends on the year you got into kindergarten. If you’re a summer birthday you can either choose to be the youngest in a higher grade, or a oldest in a younger grade. (There might be new rules but that’s how it at least used to be)
Once I was absent for a test and told the teacher I had been to a funeral. You might think it's normal to ask why I was absent but she had the audacity to ask who's funeral was it and I was so mad but I had i to answer her so I did and right after that I went back to my seat and my friend who sat at the BACK of the class said that they could hear the teacher and I felt so mad that she said it so loudly and let the whole class hear it but it's fine because I told my parents and they told the principal and she got scolded🤩🤩🤩
Teachers raise your kids, and then go home to hours of class planning, and marking homework every day!

In Peru, the minimum salary for teachers is 3k - 5k dollars a year. (Btw, here the school year starts in March and ends in the middle of December)
And then there's the teachers taking forever to grade your HMW like "i HaVE a lIFe" like so do we. Don't assign a bunch of work if you can't grade it and not complain

the avarage yearly income for a teacher in Brazil(where i am from (and my mom is a teacher)) is only 13.000 dollars a YEAR.
Homeworks' are not necessary, the first teacher who Invented homework was an Italian teacher, that gave his student homework as punishment not a necessary thing

I went to school for one day and it was my first time even going to that school, and I mean like actually being enrolled in it, and I passed my engineering teacher in the hallway and I said "Hi Mr. _____" and he's like " Hi - I'm sorry I don't know who you are" and then he laughed when I said my name and he recognized it.
In EUA 61k, in Brazil most of them get 1k per month (that's in reais), this is around 200 dollars per month, wich is 2400 per year... Without taxes.

You think the listed average salary for US teachers is bad? South Carolina teachers generally average less than $50,000 a year. Teacher assistants, which are very important for special ed classes, can make less than $9.50/hr, or $20,000 per year. There is a reason South Carolina rates so low in education. We don't pay enough to make it worth it, especially when teachers also frequently end up buying classroom supplies out of their own money.

Honestly in a lot of states that average teacher income of 55k+ is only the teachers with masters degrees. A teacher with a BA often only makes 35k a year where I’m from (In Oregon)

in quebec Canada the avr HS teacher salary in USD is 43 000$ .... so yeah not everywhere in Canada ... 74k CAD is the highest a HS teacher can get here and thats like after 20 years.....

In India its after school teachers of jee tutors stands at top 1 or 2% of the earning and most school teachers could go upto 10% but some may be even less.
