Have you ever heard of scoring over 100,000 points? After months of playing this, that's about my average. There's secret paths that add to such a high score. Also, after you kill the bats when fighting Hangedman, try shooting his head each time he charges at you. Killing even far-away enemies is recommended.

You also have to go for as many headshots as you can. In stage 1, wait for the Kenfis dogs to jump at you and shoot them in the mouth. Yes, killing the bats does give more points (80 points a bat). Shooting the Hermit's head after he dies increases score, as well. Additionally, I like playing this game on 1 life and 3 lives max; helps me not get hit as much (you lose 100 points per life lost).
Beautiful picture When you look at it, it doesn't hurt your eyes. But it's amazing that can do this. Normally this setting is very difficult. I still can't do it like you.
@@RiasatSalminSami that remake is made by a third-party dev, not SEGA itself. If SEGA gonna remake it, They need to make this game from the ground up. Because source files and Assets of the original has been lost many years ago As most of us know, SEGA is not interesting for remake it.

Plus I think there are more playable characters than G and Rogan in this game. cuz I remember that when I think I played as a scientist then game started within the house/mansion. @@popkb On the SEGA Saturn and PC port, you can play as other characters. You can play as Researcher on the PC port. But that just acts like a character skin as the voice of the players still represent Rogan and G. It was just a bonus option on the home ports of the game. I don't recall the game starting from within the mansion. If there was one, I haven't seen it. Would have been nice though if we could play as different characters from different routes within the game as bonus. The rumour about Sophie being final boss is most likely true. She was apparently supposed to be the final boss in the first game. But this idea was scraped. As for which ending is canon, I think at the time of releasing the game, it wasn't decided. But with the release of House of Dead 3, they decided to pick the good ending of hotd1 as canon since Rogan has a child with Sophie (Lisa Rogan) and his daughter talks about his mom in present tense in that game, meaning Sophie is still alive.
I didn't know you could destroy the cheese and kill the mouse eating it at the kitchen 6:59. Also, this is the first time I realize that the fish swimming in that tank has a zombie head 9:02. Wow, I love the details this game has!
@@masterofdoinit6697 yeah you can get pretty neat results using reshade. I suggest using ambient light+ filmic pass to start with. The remake was just horrible, it was a downgrade even compared to the saturn and original pc port.

It was a disgrace. I can't believe they the animations, voice acting significantly worse than the original. And the VA in original was definitely better than thotd2, so it's not even like they're staying faithful to the source material. The zombie models and facial expressions also look like some kid's movie in the remake. So many things about the remake was wrong. Unfortunately most people seems to be fine with it. But that just means we will never get a faithful remake of this game.

@@nathanbyberg Thanks for letting me know, I wasn't aware of it at all! Is it switch only? No mention of pc port? Cause that would be heart breaking then. I do have one complaint, I think they are trying to make the voice acting too much worse. The voice acting of house of dead 1 was miles better than house of dead 2 in my opinion. Everyone talked less and felt more natural compared to hod 2's over exaggerated acting. But good to see the gore is intact, the zombies are loosing their limbs. I kinda hated how house of dead 4 onwards abandoned the decapitation strategy.

@@nathanbyberg Thanks for this info. The trailer totally went under my radar. Hopefully they improve upon it before release. Like they need to add zombie's reacting to getting shot. In the remake they are looking stiff in both walking animations and when getting shot compared to the original.
Do you have the download for this? I've been looking everywhere on the Internet for a downloadable arcade version of The House of the Dead to play on the PC, but none of them had the graphics from the arcade version and the soundtrack was constantly silent throughout the whole course.

@@Omnificence2016 Well duh.. The emulator will show "Missing file" message on command prompt if you don't have the rom. Download the House of dead model 2 rom and put the files in a zip file named "hotd" and put it in the "roms" folder on the emulator dir.
Use the d3d9 dll. Should work then. As for the reshade used in this video, it was back in 2017, had no UI at all. I was doing all the editing via notepad.
Disabled tile maps to get rid of the white flashing when shooting. But fortunately there is a way to disable the flashing without disabling tile maps now, so my latest video doesnt have that issue.
