Just found your channel ('cos you've covered the Letby case) and catching up on some older videos like this one.
You've a great channel, and your stories are really fascinating. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I have an older sibling who's like a turd that won't flush, even though the boundaries are in place and have been for years. The anger/ irritation when they pop up again is real. I try to respond rather than react, which takes a fair amount of patience and compassion not only towards myself but towards this sibling - not that he'll ever know (we don't speak), and it's not for his benefit if that makes sense.
Anyway, glad you handled this situation without making anything worse which is a win.

Thanks, I'm really glad you like them. I didn't think my story was very interesting until I met with Matt Price. He told me it should be a book. So I decided to tell it all in RUclips

That is EXACTLY how I was when my mother died when I was 13. First time back in the house and I started crying. Then I watched an episode of the Simpsons and felt grand. Never cried after that. Don't get me wrong, my mother was a good woman who cared greatly for me and obviously her passing affected me greatly growing up. But in terms of that kind of outward mourning? I just blocked it out. I didn't even try to block it out. I just did.

Well done for not getting into something. No point getting angry with someone who is not rational. Sounds like he prob has done his brain some damage with all the drugs and alcohol so he's more to be pitied or have compassion for... but better is to prioritise your wife and refuse to get dragged into it.
Sounds like your anger response was what life had trained you to do... not your fault... but you're using your brain now, not just automatic response. You did good. Try not to get dragged into old drama. You don't need it anymore. 👍👍👍

I think part of him wants you to fail whether he's aware of it or not. He can see that you don't need him or look up to him anymore and that must really piss him off and he may be lashing out when he's shitfaced. You have a wife and a life and he can't even make it as a criminal. Also you're protecting your wife by not getting arrested for confronting a relatively harmless drunk relative at 3am and causing a scene. If something genuinely dangerous happens you're still there to deal with it within the law when it comes to self defence. If you'd got nicked she'd be on her own for tiiiime. You done the right thing. Don't waste your ability to protect her on something that's not a real threat.

Sounds to me like he's resentful and jealous of your life now, and also looking for a fight with someone after getting pissed. You did the right thing because if you challenged or got physical with him then you'd likely get arrested. You maintained the higher ground. And next time he will hopefully not bother you because he knows you won't bite. Its not being weak, it's being mature and civil and not rising to stupid behaviour.

I've started doing Tae Kwondo and have a dummy at home to practice kickboxing on... have you checked out Crav Maga? (?spelling) sounds like you would become a black belt in no time and learn to keep total self control... probably end up teaching it. Its how to deal with real attacks... knives, guns, multiple attackers etc I'm thinking it could be a great way to let off all your steam without getting arrested 😎
