Just thinking how that kid set up his camera, then PRETENDED to go to sleep and obviously got up afterwards to get the camera, for him to be making some video about motivation is hilarious 😂😂
This is why young kids shouldn't be on social media it's so TOXIC!!! KIDS SHOULD BE HAVING FUN!!! OBVIOUSLY THEY DON'T KNOW THEIR GOING TO GROW UP FAST!!!
I'm an elementary school art teacher and the kids today are insane. They disrespect everyone and think they're awesome for doing it, as young as in 1st grade, too. Their attention spans are constantly on the fritz, and being bored is like capital punishment to them rather than a chance to use their imaginations. And their vocabulary/spelling is worrisome. I have a 4th grade student who didn't know how to spell "green." Teaching these kids is exhausting, and spending 10+ hours formulating fun lesson plans only for the students to get bored and give up when they're only 20% finished is grinding me down lol. Makes me want to stop trying as hard.
I can't tell you how happy I am that social media wasn't a thing when I was a kid. I had this period of time in 4th grade where I got super into math and played chess during recess with the teacher. I filled a giant binder with math problems over the course of a few months. I would just put two rows of numbers across the top of the page and multiply them long-hand. After filling most of the binder I went to show my teacher, thinking he would be so proud of me. He informed me that I did every single problem wrong. I spent hours upon hours just doing pretend math. Kids are dumb.
Jesus, hopefully at least he appreciated the effort. I used to refill old school milk cartons with chocolate milk because I thought I was saving the planet. Yeah, kids are dumb
Man that is so depressing. Kids be fucking kids. Once you start working in adulthood it never fucking stops. Enjoy being a kid. Social media is rotting those kids' brains. That person who commented "no one is going to mourn at your funeral" hit the nail on the head. Life is about connecting to other people. Helping your friends, doing some random errands, driving them to the airport is what life is about. You will make the money but you will be alone and fucking unhappy.
For real. They don't realize that money means absolutely nothing in this world (of course it technically holds value, but that's really only what you make it to be). I would rather die poor but know I had a fulfilling life. It's why I always say money will always come back but the experiences do not. I rather meet new people, make new friends, travel, go on adventures and live paycheck to paycheck then spend all of my time here on this earth working to make money for what? A nice car? lmao no thank you.
Thankfully I'm pretty sure most of these kids are lying and just trying to put up the "hustle" facade to get views. But even if that's the case, it's still sad that they're so obsessed with getting views or being viewed as a hard worker at such a young age.
@@johnnyapplesmith I’m grinding soooo hard right now that I even started grinding in my sleep and of course my BETA dentist has asked me multiple times to wear a mouth guard but I told him “ why don’t you come and make me B E T A male”
as someone who had to grow up and start learning some very adult things unwillingly at literally the age of 8, this makes me so sad and upset. they are going to regret not living like a child. i didn't have a choice to grow up and i regret it. they are actively choosing to not be childlike ): so sad.
Same here 😞🫂 I’m sorry you had to have a similar experience to mine. I hope you’re doing better now and allowing yourself that childlike wonder whenever it comes now that you’re (hopefully) in a better place
same, but i don’t think they’re choosing it really. they see videos on social media of grown men talking like this and think it’s made for them. it makes me more sad that they have social media at such a young age and get influenced so early and easily
@DGen7 I can pretty much guarantee that, of the kids doing this, 99.9% of them will not be millionaires. The other .1% (or less) will either get lucky or inherit money from their already wealthy parents. Of that .1%, most of them will STILL regret wasting their childhood. I have never met a single person who "hustled" from a very young age that didn't get burnt out before the age of 25 and feel cheated out of a childhood.
I think they are just parroting what they see adults do, which is honestly a normal part of being a kid. Like playing house or putting on mom’s makeup. The difference is they’re mimicking what they see on social media and then posting content themselves, which they’ll unfortunately likely regret later.
Someone tell that kid that if you're a man who is depressed then you need therapy, guidance and good people who you trust around you. Suicide rates are the highest in men. Let men have safe spaces, and encourage active therapy instead of telling them to lift weights and essentially 'man up'. Kids like this need education.
@@bece00 Now that you mention... think about if companies and shit start feeding into this fire and talking to kids like "HEY KID, WANNA WORK HARD? WE'LL GIVE YOU PLENTY OF WORK FOR US" and then use them for hard work disguised as "motivation to live through the harshness" and basically underpay them. Very predatory.
@johnnycripplestar5167 yep. Honestly it's the same propaganda that has been fed to men to get them to work themselves to death since forever. This is just the newest iteration :/
I was born in 1992 so I had those glorious years of early tech where I could enjoy things like Nintendo or gameboy but they didn't control every aspect of my childhood. Social media wasn’t really a thing until I was in high school 2011-2015 and mainly, it was Instagram. I cannot imagine having to deal with this shit as a kid, constantly making you feel like you aren’t good enough.
This makes me sad too; like as a full time college student and full time employee I LIVE for the moments where I have nothing to do, the time where I can relax, watch tv, play games, and spend time with my friends. I say hang onto that freedom of childhood for as long as you can

@@soulcats3551 That's natural as you're hitting a different stage of life. You have moved past the wanting to grow up phase as the reality of adulthood slowly settles in.
This makes me so sad. When I was younger, I forced myself to grow up and mature quickly because I wanted to be like my much older brothers and the adults around me. Now at almost 23 years old, I’m basically reliving my childhood in the form of collecting squishmallows, playing video games, and buying any toys/plushies I think are cute to fill a void I created as a kid. Time flies man, just enjoy it while you’re that young :( you have the whole rest of your life to be successful and accomplish your goals
@@DGen7 How old are you? No, these kids won't end up getting rich. The vast majority of people aren't rich. Creating a successful business is extremely hard and almost every single one fails. Money does not replace a good childhood. You will find that out when you're older.
I used to think I should feel guilty about the fact I spent my entire childhood playing video games all day every day, and that my parents maybe should have encouraged me to do more with my life. But I'm 26 now and know my parents did right by me. They let me be a child and have fun doing something I loved, something that helped me escape the depression I struggled with throughout school. Nowadays I work hard every day 5 days a week for 8 hours, and despite all my efforts and grind throughout my adulthood I was only finally able to afford my first car 7 months ago. I wouldn't trade a second of my childhood for anything, even for billions of dollars. I will always appreciate that my parents let me be a kid. When these kids grow up and realise they have barely anything to show for the "grindset" they force themselves into, it's going to cause so much anguish.
I was saying this to my mum just the other day We had to cook, clean, raise our younger sibling and once we were old enough, work and give every penny to our parents. Now I’m spending my late twenties and early 30s having the childhood & teen years I should have already been through
I think putting Jak in here was a big mistake. He's changed so many lives and makes meaningful and helpful content. Very different than the other people in this video.
100%. I can understand putting the other kids in this video, as they are an actual reflection on how kids can be negatively influenced, but Jak Piggott is an example of someone doing self improvement content correctly.
My 7 year old son came home from school earlier this week talking about how he is going to open a lemonade stand and he has a whole ass plan laid out about how he would upgrade over time by taking some of his profits and putting it back into his business lol
That's so cute I wish my parents would've taught me about money they are really good at it and passed none of that knowledge onto us 😭 that's like the most important thing to teach your kids
Jak Piggott should not have been in this video. His content is some of the most genuine down to earth content I've ever come across, he speaks nothing but the truth. His advice is genuine and actually great to apply into your life. Don't judge from a few shorts, the shorts are made specifically that way to catch the attention of people who are addicted to scrolling with short attention spans and help them wake up from the loop hole they're in. His videos genuinely help a lot of people, including me, he's right when he says that his videos aren't some "cringey ass motivational videos." As soon as I come across one of his shorts while scrolling when I know I have a shit ton of work to do (like studying for a really important exam), I stop scrolling and get on with my work. He really helps make others feel like they're not alone, he doesn't pressurize you to have your whole life planned out at 18, and that you need to figure everything out. Instead he shows you how thats done, step by step, showing its okay to fail. He's not being toxic about it, or as these comments say "motivate others to steal their childhood from themselves." Even this youtuber's reaction says it all, he got pissed when Jak was saying the truth. Dive a bit deeper into one's content before judging this way. There's no harm in improving yourself from a young age in a healthy way.
The loss of innocence is disheartening. My friends and I would beg our parents to let us stay outside and play more. Now, kids want to be running their own business before reaching high school. That's crazy.
Jak Piggot isn't an one of those entrepreneur kids, he genuinely tries to help people with corn addictions and depression, as well as other problems. Dont lump him in with those cringe 12 year olds.
My 16 year old brother has that "money is everything" mentality. I remember there was a day when bro was literally crying to my dad about how he's too young to work. He was upset that he has to get older before he could work... But also my brother doesn't want a normal job cuz my dad who's an independent handyman was like, "alright come work with me for a couple of hours every now and then and ill pay you." He said no to that. He vaguely alluded to selling drugs to make "easy money."
Kids like this just want the status of easy money that social media, real-estate, betting and stocks can provide (if you're one of the 1.000.000 that "succeeds"). No work, just profiting over money itself (inheritance much probably) and other people's actual work force. These kids are juice of the structure of contemporary capitalism, patriarchy, colonialism...
I once had a friend living in my spare room.Who told me I was living my life wrong because I didn't have to work a 9 to 5. Meanwhile, I made enough money to support both of us. While he didn't have a dime to his name and he was calling me a loser For not thinking about how to make money Every single day. like my guy you're a bum. How are you gonna talk down to me when you're living in my house?
14:50 leave jak alone. his content is nothing but genuine, down-to-earth content. the reason you don't see that side of him in this video is since he creates his shorts in such a way that they influence the viewer to stop scrolling and taking their lives for granted. in his regular content, he preaches about leaving social media for as long as you can to search the world for something more fulfilling that you may enjoy. that's why you should never be so keen to judge. his goal is to simply improve his viewers' lives in any way he can, with a mix of heartwarming messages and tough love. he's quite honestly one of the most genuine people on this platform so please, don't judge him so easily
Yeah, he doesn't know that a teacher's job doesn't end when they leave the classroom. Not to mention the bunch of other things that life demands. The kid is unintentionally showing that he has no idea what he's talking about and is simply parroting what he heard on social media.
NY guy here, I just wanna appreciate Cody for being locked in to his east coast lunch crew even tho you have fans around the world. Lunchtime baby let's gooo?
Because none of them understand any of the visual cues they're seeing in the "sigma grindset" videos they're watching. If you need more evidence of that, see the second to last kid standing on a muddy patch of grass talking on his cell phone. Money influencers pick the backdrops they do because they're beautiful and make viewers think of wealth and opulence. A shitty public golf course doesn't do that but the kids don't understand which part is supposed to be attractive to an audience.
12:20 You're both correct. I teach middle school, and I go home and fall asleep immediately because I'm exhausted. Then I wake up, eat dinner, do more work, and THEN i drink until I fall back asleep
14:48 This kid was the only one with actually solid advice. He wasn’t flaunting his non-existent wealth or acting like he was better than anyone else. Just some good, honest advice.
I like his videos. I don't watch does "grinding" ones because I'm not interested, but it's fun to hear him talk and think about those things. He seems verg genuine too. Of course, the videos showcased are brutal lol, but it appeals to certain people that are really spending 5 hours per day on the phone, and need motivation to get off.
sure, the first video made by Jak Piggott was a little weird, but you should NOT be dissing him or calling him cringe, his content is genuine and has actually improved tons of lives. really, you should watch some of his content as well, maybe you'll learn something new.
@chenath9582 the thing is, even if you're a kid, you should still attempt to make some progress towards your dream job/career. If you just spend all your childhood having fun, then you'll just immediately be hit with the harsh wall of reality once you become an adult and out of the house; jobs that require high education, money, shelter, bills, etc. A child should learn how the world works, how they can prepare for it, and make steps towards their dream job/career. Now, I'm not saying that a child can't have fun and must be working and learning all the time; a child should still have fun BUT invest in at least sometime of their day to get prepared for their future.
Kids process information so much faster than adults, so I really feel for them. I’m not a parent so I can’t relate to how hard it must be to supervise internet use, but my god you have to be on top of it and take care of your kids. Seeing this confirms my child free status tbh
I hope it's a joke. If this man making fun of other people , desperately searching for validation, is somewhat a kind of self improvement, then there's something wrong...
Did you not see the video bro. All this cody guy does is sit on his chair and just talk shit about people. Like its understandable with the other ones but jak as well?? Jak's content is WAY more useful and helpful than this guy's.

Makes me want to stop trying as hard.
he also doesn't seem to understand who educates him to get rich or whatever his plan is
I can't tell you how happy I am that social media wasn't a thing when I was a kid.

BROOO I WAS THINKING THIS THE WHOLE TIME
Man that is so depressing.
"Once you start working in adulthood it never fucking stops" sounds like you haven't been grinding hard enough.
Thankfully I'm pretty sure most of these kids are lying and just trying to put up the "hustle" facade to get views. But even if that's the case, it's still sad that they're so obsessed with getting views or being viewed as a hard worker at such a young age.

as someone who had to grow up and start learning some very adult things unwillingly at literally the age of 8, this makes me so sad and upset. they are going to regret not living like a child. i didn't have a choice to grow up and i regret it. they are actively choosing to not be childlike ): so sad.
although i bet some of them are being encouraged by their parents, like lil tay
They say what they say because they learned everything off social media.

This is how they think. They want a fast way to make money and don't want to put the time and effort into it...
Kids like this just want the status of easy money that social media, real-estate, betting and stocks can provide (if you're one of the 1.000.000 that "succeeds"). Now, I'm not saying that a child can't have fun and must be working and learning all the time; a child should still have fun BUT invest in at least sometime of their day to get prepared for their future.

i love how cody has leaned into the lunch time bit. i mean it’s not a bit because literally every time he posts im eating but still
I love stacking Cody’s videos and watching them like Saturday morning cartoons
Doing this was one of the best ideas I’ve ever had
