A Journey to the Top of Mt. Zion
When I focus on Zion, at first my glasses are dark; in the distance it seems dim
He opened His mouth and began to speak blessings; I learn to be a beggar from every breath of my mouth, convicted of my sins
Desiring to achieve and reach up to Zion, the first step I took, He heard my cry
My cries turned to wailing, wailing to great anguish, but I heard Him say, “Draw Near”, and I was comforted, now on the second step I stood, with wind beneath my wings I feel I can fly
A 3rd step I took, but really there have been many in between; I humbly bow to my King, and now I’m beginning to be carried, inheriting the earth
Bold to tell of His Truth, my feet start to move, but sorrow felt for those below me, will they stay the course, will they hear my joy that draws me closer in this new birth
Encouragement came from those in front of me, so I encourage and pray for those behind me
Heaven His throne and earth His footstool, as I draw near I begin to see more clearly, the flesh in which I flee
Fatigue of this journey I’m getting hungry and thirsty, He set a table of righteousness before me and a fountain of living water for my thirst
I feast on His bread, and fully drink of His water; the 4th step becomes excitement, with great joy and satisfaction to my spirit and soul at first
The 5th step or more like a thousand steps from plateau to plateau, now seeking to be filled with His love and compassion I continue to go
Once again I’m filled with His mercy, receiving mercy for me, I know
The 6th step I start casting off all that is unclean, finding filth I’ve never seen, my heart is broken, and I think of how unsearchable are all the riches of my Lord, I look and see the purity of His Kingdom and all His glory
If I can reach to the top of Zion I will be His son, seeking peace to find rest, now at the 7th step my feet no longer touching the ground, going all the way, if in Him I be found, telling my story
I’ve now reached a new level, persecuted and suffering tribulation I feel His Joy, because I’m in Him, and every assault He has taken for me, for He is my righteous armor, and for Him I do strive. This 8th step is by full faith and no fear of this world, but to fear God I will respond
The final step is true death, for you will be hated by this world, but it’s not you they hate, but the Son of God, Jesus Christ, that you put on
This 9th step is where one knows intimately the meaning of denying ones flesh and the baptism of a worldly death, raised as a new man in newness of life One day to meet the Bridegroom, dressed in white, His wife
Blessed, I’m poor and begging for His spirit
Connecting to His kingdom, He hears it
Blessed, mourning over my sins I grieve
His comforter with joy I soon received
Blessed, meek and humble, but in spirit and truth I’m bold
Inheriting the earth I’m told
Blessed, I’m thirsty and starving for His righteousness
Filled and fully satisfied with my Christ Jesus
Blessed, having mercy and compassion for all
His mercy on me begins to fall
Blessed, having a pure and clean heart to grow
Fixing my gaze upon Him, I now know
Blessed, pursuing the Prince of Peace
A child of God, a peacemaker, I will not cease
Blessed, persecuted for His righteousness in me
The Kingdom of Heaven, His face I can see
My persecution makes me exceedingly glad
Making it to the top of the mountain, just like the prophets had
For great is my reward
In heaven are all my treasures stored

I am Egyptian and the word Blessed here translated in Arabic "Toba" which means "Fortunate" which is different from the word Blessed "Baraka" when mentioned in other parts in the bible.

I am glad that some Catholics are being awakened and studying the Bible to know and understand the Truth which is in Christ Jesus alone.
Let me share a dream I dreamed many years ago about the Roman Catholic Church. In my dream, I saw a Parish Church building of medium size where mass service was being held. The church building was almost full of people on its sitting capacity. The mass attendees were all sitting and the service was going on. What was shocking was that the one who was performing the service on the altar who was supposed to be the priest was completely naked from head to feet. He was not standing, but lying, facing upward and floating on the air, just one or two feet above the altar table. All people could see him completely naked. Yet, it seemed that they did not mind it, and even enjoyed the sight as if nothing abominable was going on at the altar. I sensed an atmosphere of quietness and loneliness inside the church building. The people were in slumber and seemed to be hypnotized.
When I woke up in the morning, I was somewhat troubled in my thoughts as I recalled the dream. Yet, immediately I received the light of its meaning. The message is clear that it is about the spiritual condition and state of the "Roman Catholic Church", its leaders and members. God revealed to me how abominable is the Roman Catholic Church before Him. She is naked, blind and deceived. ( Revelation 4:14-20 - The church of Laodiceans; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12; Romans 10:1-3; 11:8-10; Matthew 15:14; Ephesians 5:12-14 )
Since my birth, I grew up following the Roman Catholic doctrine, belief and practices until the day I got born again in my spirit when I prayed the prayer of justification in the Name of the Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. On that day of my new birth, instantly I stopped drinking alcoholic drinks and smoking at the same time, for THE LORD had removed from within me the desire of it. Immediately I was filled with the Holy Ghost. Then it was followed by many biblical spiritual experiences and one of these was to dream dreams. ( Acts 2:17; 2:38-39; 3:19-20 )
May the followers of the Roman Catholic Church be awakened and know the Truth that will set them free, which is in Christ Jesus alone and the Word of God, the Holy Bible. They have the zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. ( John 8:32; Romans 10:2 )

You have foolishly followed a dream and interpretation which have led you to create a 'perfect' church based on your personal thoughts and not what God had planned for humanity. Whoa to you Pharisees who appear all clean and spotless on the outside but inside you are unclean. You were born again at your baptism. After your 'dream', God may have invited you by a 'signal-grace' to become a better, truer Catholic: instead you chose the road of pride (look at me I am so much more enlightened now; so much better than all the rest) and Apostatized. Too bad you didn't take advantage of it; instead you became another anti-church unto yourself following your own man-made plan of redemption. Hope it works out for you.

A mystery for sure yet here is a consideration; our concept of Trinity has to do with the virtue of Humility All gods were gods you feared for these gods were punishing and vindictive- the Triune God is Love and thru Love The true God shares Love with us not fear It takes Divine humility to love us both in our goodness and awfulness. What is Inherit the earth? We are going to do and heaven and earth are going to pass away. So what earth do the meek inherit?
I thought the bible says that God is making a New Heaven and a New Earth.
@@39knights Yes thanks 39knights. Brant did say that at the end. I just got a little excited in my response because its been bugging me for a while. It shouldn't though. I remember a work colleague questioning my faith in God. She said science tells us the earth is going to be destroyed by the sun one day and then even the sun will die, so much for God's creation. And I replied, Well, If you'd read your bible you'd know that Jesus said heaven and earth will pass away but my word will never pass away. And later in revelation John saw a new heaven and anew earth. I should have remembered that myself! Thank you very much for pointing it out though 39knights, much appreciated.
@@tonyhayes9827 What I always wondered about is what we will be doing for eternity and why would there be a need for an Earth after the General Resurrection of the Dead? Turns out we will have a resurrected body like the one Jesus has after His resurrection; because as human beings we are only whole if our souls are with our bodies.
I also wonder if the New Earth will be for those humans who will exist in the state of Limbo? This is not an official Church teaching; but those who have died without mortal sin; but still unbaptized and with Original Sin; may inhabit this New Earth of eternal Natural Happiness but without the Beatific Vision. This is only speculated by the Church Fathers. There is no reason why Jesus could not receive those without Baptism from 33AD onward; as He did those without Baptism from Adam to 33AD.
Guess we will find out in Heaven.
Jesus told Christians to pray for God's Kingdom to come and for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, Matthew 6:10! He said that the meek will inherit the earth, Matthew 5:5! Soon Jesus will make sure that God's Will is done on earth as it is in heaven, and He will bless the earth by opening a way for the meek to inherit the earth and live forever on it, Psalms 37:9-11,29. The Kingdom of God, with Jesus ruling as King of kings will bring an end to death, pain or sorrow on earth, Revelation 21:4,5. All wickedness will be removed from the earth, Psalms 37:9-11, John 3:16. The righteous, meek Christians who survive Armageddon will have the opportunity to live forever on earth, Psalms 37:29; Matthew 5:5; Proverbs 2:21,22. Jesus will do on a grand scale what he did when he walked the earth, including raising those who are asleep in death, John 5:28,29. The earth will be cultivated into a Paradise like God intended in the beginning, Genesis 1:28; Isaiah 55:11. All those who oppose God's sovereignty will be destroyed, Daniel 2:44. These are the last day's, we must worship the Father with spirit and truth, John 4:22-24. Pray for wisdom and understanding, God answers sincere prayers from humble hearts! Isaiah 42:8; James 4:8; John 17:3.

I know this comment was a long time ago, but Jesus as the new Moses is directly stated, Deuteronomy 18 says "What they say is good. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers" and then Acts 3 affirms this is about Jesus "For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you."

Interesting, but there is another way to understand the Sermon on the Mount. I propose that a “better” translation of Matthew 5:3 would be, “Blessed are you when you sin.” (WHAT?!?!?!). Yes, if you sin, you will be blessed by God. That’s how the people would have heard Jesus. The people Jesus was speaking to were living under the Mosaic covenant. According to the Law of God as given through Moses if a person was poor or afflicted or suffering it was because of their sin (Deut. 28:15 - 68). Jesus was dealing with a group of people who did not believe they had a need for a Savior. They had the Talmudic Law which the Pharisees taught, if they obeyed, then they would not come within the boundaries of violating the Mosaic Law. God’s law told them that if they lived in obedience to ALL of His commandments that a person would be “blessed” (Deut. 28:1 - 14). This teaching of Jesus would have been the direct opposite of what they had believed all of their lives. We should not forget that Jesus is not speaking to us when He gave the Sermon on the Mount, but rather, He was talking to them. God bless.
"Jews" does not equal all 12 tribes of Israel. It can only refer to the House of Judah, the tribe of Judah, someone from Judea (which comprises non Israelites) or someone practicing the religion of Judaism (which also could mean non Israelites). At the time of Jesus's and Paul's ministries, Israel was still divided into two Houses, and the House of Israel, comprising 10 of the 12 tribes, were still largely scattered throughout the Greco-roman world and uncircumcised, yet not forgotten by Jesus or Paul. It would be well if we remember them too.
Don't insult the Son of God by comparing or associating Him with Moses. The Lord Jesus said that John the Baptist was the greatest prophet, yet the least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.
The beatitudes are Kingdom teaching and will be fulfilled in the earthly kingdom when Christ comes back to reign in righteousness and peace on the earth.

I'm actually tired of these. They should be called The Platitudes: a random bunch of virtues and dispositions, some of which are so mind-numbingly obvious that even I could stand on a mountain and make it up on the spot.
'Poor in spirit' and 'meek' mean almost the same thing, yet one gets the earth and the other the kingdom of heaven. In fact, there are three qualities that get the kingdom of heaven. It's almost like "Hmmm... what can I say? Oh, I know: kingdom of heaven! Winning."
The merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Really? Who'd have thought? Isn't that the most obvious, dull statement you could make? Blessed are the kind, for kindness shall be shown to them. See? I just made up a platitude.
And why are the peacemakers 'children of God', but not the others? Surely the merciful should be called this, because God shows mercy.
Mourners comforted? I mean, come on. That's what you do to mourners; you comfort them. What a throw-away. A platitude.
No, these are statements badly recalled, years later, by people who were possibly on that mountain or who were more likely recalling a story they had been told.
Much of the sermon on the mount is fine rhetoric and a very good instruction in morality. I think it's a pity that He opened with this.
