I also think the Logic Pro Mastering Assistant sounds best overall. It is a fantastic update!

Thanks for the vid' I've been experimenting with the Mastering Assistant on old mixes. I'm liking it a lot.

Great video, Patrick. Mastering Assistant is a great feature for Logic Pro.

Great vid, Patrick. To me, the Mastering Assistant sounds the best of the three. And while it won't give you as much control as a dedicated mastering plugin like Lursen or Ozone, it does a pretty fine job without too much hassle. Glad it was ported over on Logic Mac too !

Totally agree Marc, it gives just enough control without being *too* complicated.

    Mastering Assistant - some restrictions!
    1. Full functionality (Character) is only available on Apple Silicon (M1 and further) - on my Intel 10 Core i9 only 'Clean' works!
    2. If activating Mastering Assistant you will notice heavy latency if you want to continue recording (especially on Midi Input) - ok, it should be the LAST STEP in finishing your project and may only occur in (my) 'old' hardware ... but .. to get back the normal latency behavior you MUST set 'NO PLUGIN' on its place - switch off don't work for the latency issue!
But anyway - Logic rules! :)

Can't speak to how it performs on Mac, but we don't really see either of those issues on iPad. It certainly does!

That’s not the case with ipad, strange! 🤔 I have all characters available and i have the old ipad pro with the a12z inside. 🤷🏽‍♂️
When it’s possible with this old chip, then i really don’t understand why you need an M1 on mac? 🙈

Improv the logic overall (when the song have more EQ the logic will give you a notification saying overall) and inprove the new mastering plugging and the piano 🎹 roll to pick note like FL Studio

Just tried it on the mac. I have the last generation intel macbook air, and the only available character is clean. Apple are very cute in their ways to get you to upgrade. But the plugin is excellent even on that setting.

Yeah that was whack how they did that

The strange thing is, on ipad it works with their old chip! 💀🤣 So i don’t get it why you need an „M“ Chip on a mac 🤔

How can I browse sounds by category like garage band?? Does Alchemy on Logic has less sounds than GB on iPad??

How do you use a mouse on your iPad like that?

    • @TheLogicProGuide
      @TheLogicProGuide  9 месяцев назад

You can use any Bluetooth mouse or a keyboard with trackpad attached (I used the Magic Keyboard for this video)

Nice video, as always. Now, am I hallucinating, or did they upgrade the Pitch Control plugin as well? I don't remember it looking quite like it does now. I don't remember seeing the Neural Pitch Detection button before. If so, maybe a cue for a new video?

bro they did upgrade it!!I hated the pitch control in logic so I bought Antares but when I got lp on the iPad I was amazed with how good it looked was and worked def very happy with this app they really snapped man.

I know this may sound like heresy, but how bad of an idea would it be to leave the mastering plugin activated while we create and mix a track? This way, we will always know from the beginning how our music will sound in the end.

If it sounds good, it sounds good 🤷‍♂️

The mastering assistant adjusts the settings for the final mix. If you make changes you need to press the reanalyse button. So I would only use it at the last stage and try and get the mix sounding as good as possible first.

In this particular case, I thought Grand Finale sounded best, but Apple’s sounded good too. The difference is subtle, and I could see either one being closer to what you’re going for. I still think (for most people today) mastering isn’t really necessary and the subtle differences it makes aren’t necessarily any better than a good mix before mastering. But I’ll certainly be trying the mastering assistant and giving it a chance to change my mind.

Does anyone else have issues with Tonex and Logic Pro?
