Hardhomme is the episode where Tormund became my absolute favorite of the show. Hardhomme is easily one of the top 3 episodes of GOT in my opinion. I’m very interested in seeing y’all’s reactions to the next 2 episodes!
I skip the episode every time. What was accomplished here, just scare em more? Even the big moment af the end, pretty sure we knew they could do that already.
The lady wildling in this episode really stole the show to be such a small role. As a woman, she couldn’t bring herself to strike the children even if they were zombies. Her hesitation got her killed.
I was waiting for Hardhomme. One of my favorite action scenes in the entire series. Just shows how real the threat is. Great dialog. Great choreography. The eery silence on the resurrection. Freaking excellent.
10:03 "Damn the oath to the Night's Watch." Technically, the oath says you can't take a wife or father any children, so as long as Samwell's pullout game was strong he still satisfied his oath.
Hardhome is definitely one of the best episodes of GOT. At the end, when the Whitewalker resurrects the dead to turn them into an army, you suddenly realise what kind of enemy and power is coming.
Fun fact #2, that same actor who played Bronn, and the actor who plays Cersei, used to date. It didn't end well, apparently, because they wouldn't film scenes together. You'll notice if you look for it, that Bronn and Cersei never interact in the show.
5:04 The end of one of the true 'Good' people in this series. 20:10 Her father told Cersei that "I don't trust you not because you are a woman but because you are not as smart as you think you are" & here is the prove, she opened a gate & let in wolf not thinking that a wolf doesn't care who opened the gate, it only cares about it's next meal. I knew this moment was coming from the moment Cersei gave the High Sparrow his power because the righteous don't care who you are or what you did for them, they only care for their beliefs. As the old proverb says "Be careful for what you wish for because you never know the cost."
Hardhome was another "milestone" type episode a lot of us have been waiting for you to get to. It is one of the best of the series. You have a couple more down the road.
Valerian steel ( basically magical metal from an ancient sorcerer’s kingdom that fell ages ago - the city Tyrion fought the grey scale men) and dragon glass are the only thing that work against the dead.
Yes, I was coming to the comments to answer the question about Jon killing a white walker with his sword (not dragon glass). No one knew, until this moment in the show, that Valyrian steel could kill white walkers like dragon glass. However, it makes sense when you know that Valyrian steel swords were embused with magic when they were created. I think the white walker and Jon were both surprised when the sword didn't just fall apart like the regular swords do. Then we see Jon hit the walker and he shatters just like they do with dragon glass.
Hey guys I’m so glad you finally got to this episode it’s my favourite of them all. To clear up some of the confusion on the things you asked. The guy with the spiked head is the night king. He is not a white walker he is a powerful evil ancient wizard. He creates the white walkers which are the big powerful guys with the white hair. You might remember in the previous episode where the nights watch stay with a wildling and kill him and they take his baby to the woods. You see a white walker taking the baby to the night king and he touches his face and his eyes turn blue. So the white walkers are the little babies that came from the wildling house and Sam’s girlfriend her baby is actually their brother. To answer asias question on the winter. The saying “winter is coming” refers to the people of the north knowing the night king will eventually get through the wall and bring winter with him. He’s the reason they built the wall to keep winter locked in the north. And lastly BJ is right in that the dead who die in the battles are completely resurrected so the night kings undead army gets all the original zombies plus all the new ones so in this episode it just gained like 100k wildling that the night watch needed to stop the night king but it’s about to get a whole lot crazier I can’t wait till you see the next few episodes.
This is one of the toughest episodes in GOT. Good job making it through and thanks as always for watching! Hold on to your butts cause the next 13 episodes are gonna be insane!
Ramsay was in his room, with the fireplace lit. Reek went directly there, but the camera work makes it look like he could be climbing the steps of the *broken* tower instead of the Lord’s Tower.
Love your reactions. Hardhome is one of my favorite episodes. So well done and just full of action. You really start to understand what Jon sees as "the real threat" and you gain a lot of respect for those trying to fight against the white walkers. Next TV series: Generation Kill (HBO series)
I think Theon/Reek went to Ramsay's room directly and not to the room he was supposed to put the candle. They just made it look that way to keep the moment of surprise.
Hardhome was the first Game of Thrones episode that sent shivers down my spine. Up to this point we’d heard and seen a little bit about the white walkers but this is the point everyone finally realised how big the threat actually was. Seeing the Night King resurrect all the dead was very sobering.
Instant click. Can't wait. You two are sooooo funny. Nuff said. Lets go :) Edit: Yoooooo y'all!!!...that reaction was fantastic. From Samwell getting laid, to Cercei getting bit by her own snake, to the resurrection of the dead... OMG you guys killed on this one. Watching Asia's eyeballs is so hilarious. BJ be droppin the bombs in the meantime. I love you guys. Thank You :)
The actor who plays Bron (Jerome Flynn) actually sounds good, cause he's actually also a professional singer! He had a #1 single in the UK several years ago.
Hardholme is one of my favorite episodes just on sheer creation. It’s not described in the books on what happened but all you know is something really bad happened. The part that really messed me up was when Karsi, the woman wildling that spoke up at the meeting to go with John, saw the children. And you can see the absolute horror on her face as a person and a mother. That an enemy you don’t even know how to fight is killing children and then using them for the horrors that you are seeing around you after you just got your kids to the docks and you don’t know if they are safe or not. The entire episode since the wights start slamming into the doors and walls is absolute chaos. And THE most badass part, in my opinion, is when the Night King walks out on the dock, looks John dead in the eye, and raises his arms and ALL the fallen… wildlings and dead, without even breaking eye contact. An example of what he is capable of, the forces that he has, and the pure attitude of “do something. I dare you. You took out one of my captains… does it look like I care?” And the absolute silence in that moment, and all the way through the credits just… chefs kiss
39:00 Valyrian steel is forged from dragon fire. Dragon glass is glass made from dragon fire. Dragon fire is basically the magical counter to the white walkers and their ice nature. It is interesting Jorah Mormont and Tyrion Lannister were passing through old Valyria when they see Drogon flying overhead and they encounter the stone men.
30:52 "Where'd they find all these big men?!" 😄 Kit Harrington is 5'8", so, as long as they cast actors that were 6'0" or taller, cover them in furs and put them in heavy boots, you can easily make all of them look huge next to Jon Snow. And, just a little extra trivia, the Wildling society we see is based on the prehistoric Scots, Picts, and Arctic Indigenous Peoples. Physically, Wildlings are supposed to resemble stereotypical Scots as the Roman historian Tacitus described them, having "red-gold hair and massive limbs." Doesn't that sound like Tormund? ❤
Your comments leading up to the final scene illustrate just how impactful how it all plays out. Leading into it we have seen some white walkers and their army….but don’t have a feel for just how big the threat is….the viewer is left with what looks to be the same thing going through Jon Snow’s head…’there is no chance of stopping this, none’
Asia & BJ - Jon Snow was able to kill the White Walker because his sword was forged from Valyrian steel. Along with dragonglass, Valyrian steel is one of the few known substances that can kill White Walkers, although this property is not widely known, apparently not even to the White Walkers themselves. Since the destruction of Valyria, the majority of the surviving Valyrian steel weapons serve as heirlooms in the various noble houses of Westeros. Also, Theon's new name is "Reek" not "Rick". Ramsay called him Reek because of the stinky smell he gave off after all the abuse from Ramsay Bolton.
Hey guys, Hope this finds u both well. So ready to chillax and enjoy. Theon is poster boy for Stockholm Syndrome for sure. Like I said mixing politics and religion never works out and Cercei just learned that lesson, lol. Winter is here.....Anxiety is up. Thanx so much, take care, Peace
The show isn't very clear on Roberts death. But in the books, its pretty much stated that Cersei purposefully had her cousin Lancel get Robert drunk before his hunt so that he would get killed by that boar. So she indirectly had him killed.
The army of the dead are called the Wights can be killed by any weapons but they have to be burned afterwards so they won’t be able to be brought back to life by the Night King the Walker with a crown on his head, the White Walkers are generals of the Night King that is why they why they usually sit on sidelines with their King while they army kills people, the White Walkers and Night King can be killed by either dragon glass or Valerian Steel and this why Jon could kill that White Walker because his sword was a Valerian Steel, did you know guys that the Children of Forest created the Night King and first White Walkers, plus when the Night King brings dead people back to life they became Wights not White Walkers ❤
Fun Fact - The tall actress who plays the "nun" who is punishing Cersei, is the same woman who plays Rebecca in Ted Lasso. I didn't know for the longest time because most of her head is covered haha
Asia is the first reviewer that I have seen who noticed all the red headed wildings. It's be because the wildings are supposed to be the Scottish, lol. The Romans built a wall across Britain in the same place to keep out the "widmen" of Scotland. Unfortunately their wall was only about four feet high, it's just slightly exaggerated for the show.
I felt soo good when Cersei finally got hers, for every sin she had done, and how she carried herself after doing it,she is just pure evil on 2 legs. Yeah what BJ said about the whitewalkers, when the winter is coming the whitewalkers are coming, and thats why everyone else fears what is coming. Because noone has managed to fight them off. And each time theyr own people fall, they turn into whitewalkers. And this last episode here is when you got to finally see theyr King, see how the top of his head is almost spiked as a crown on his head? Thats the big man right there, the whitewalker that controls them all and is the most powerful of them all. I still dont handle too well seeing Sansa under physical and mental discomfort and pain with Ramsay, that really twists and turns emotions inside of me. No matter how many times i have seen Game Of Thrones over,i still cant get over it. Sansa is one of my absolute favourites. I like how BJ thinks regarding Daenerys/Khaleesi and Jorah Mormont,i also believe that shes still hurt and disappointed towards what he did. That its simply difficult to just forgive and move past it,at least for now. He probably has ways to go before she has trust in him again. Also interesting to see Arya under full training right now,not just training for the body but for the mind. You got to wonder what this turns out to be for Arya in the end? Because her mentor right now seems to be a S tier assassin, based purely upon what you have seen up till this point, every problem Arya mentioned to him,he pretty much solved. And he changes identity like its nothing, with the "many faces". He granted her like 3 wishes or something, and he solved whatever problem she had, wich has me believing that he saw great potential in Arya from the moment theyr paths crossed. This tv series really has you locked in! It makes you mad,it makes you laugh,it makes you happy,it makes you sad and teary eyed and it has you fully locked in because of the thrilling action and suspence.....it just has it all!
I could be wrong, but I think the white walkers and the thralls are killed by Dragon Glass, Valyerian Steel, or fire. Jon's sword that he got from Mormont is Valyerian steel (magical steel...may have been infused with magic/dragon fire?)
I listen to you 2 discussing each episode with pride. Why? I was a teacher for 36 years. Pat yourselves on the back! Look at how well you are absorbing and enjoying this absolutely complex story! (I read the books so I know!😊) You ain’t seen nothing yet!
Theon went to light the candle but since Ramsey was there already he just told him because he didn't want to look guilty of anything. John did hit the white walker with the sword made out of valerian steel.
The wildlings are the blood of the first men. Descendants that made the pact with the children of the forest. They were pushed north by the andals that brought the religion of the seven generations before the wall was erected by Brandon the builder.
The best part of the battle of Hardhome had to be the Night King just disrespecting Jon Snow as the survivors runaway. He’s like, sure, you may have dragon glass and Valyrian steel; you even took out one of my officers. Now let me answer your flex with one of my own. Oh, look, here’s everyone you wanted to save. They’re mine now, and even if you got away this time, we’re still coming.
HBO said the budget for Hardhome (S5 E8) $10 million the episode was very CGI-heavy, with Kit Harington being forced to shoot each of the five fight sequences multiple times to get it right (per EW).
BJ is wrong. That tower wasn't being use. That was the point. It would be silly to ask Theon to go and light a candle on Ramsey's room. Ramsey somehow got information from the woman and moved to the tower because he is really smart (evil smart). Asia is the right one. Theon is incapable to lie to Ramsey at this point.
This is where White Walkers really go in to the "oh shit, we f'd" zone. One of my favorite episodes of the whole show. Things are put into perspective with a magnifying glass... All of a sudden who sits on the iron throne really doesn't matter all that much. You all gonna die unless these guys are stopped.
one of 15 episodes in TELEVISON HISTORY that got 9.9/10 rating on IMBD GOT owns 4 of these, first one was Red wedding hardhome is second,2 more await you "NIGHTS WATCH WITH ME" most badass thing ive ever seen, agains all logic Jon goes to fight for the weak! Jon DID in fact kill White Walker with Valyrian Steel, that is supposed to be "revealed" by this scene. Episode Jon became my favorite character! If you think about it Jons personality resembles Jesus Christ, which is not unintentinal,i think GOT plot and details are best TV of all time
The end of ep.7 is the fruition of what Tywin told Cersei. He didn't trust her not because she's a woman, but because she's not as smart as she thinks she is.
The wolf is Jon Snow. It‘s like when the human dies, the Wolf (of the Starks) dies. Or at least a part of him/her or the old self dies. Take a closer look at the deaths of the wolves in the past and the future
Right off the bat, THANK YOU for the larger view; i hate that tiny screen - i'm watching this on a phone, so trying to figure out what you're reacting to on a little 1 inch picture is an unsatisfying experience. Thanks again.
Y'all have probably heard by now that season 8 was widely disliked, but after you finish I'd strongly recommend House of the Dragon! A GoT prequel series with a lot of promise.
Cersi made the mistake of empowering the religious zealots and they turned on her. A mistake she wouldn't have made if her father was alive and it rings true with what Tyrion said "You're not as clever as you think you are!"
Im loving this,i held back until i could watch 5 reactions in a row.. Asia you come out with some great one liners.. Bj, that fire scene got me too.. It only gets more full on from here. Thanks
You were asking for suggestions for new series to check out, obviously '' House of the Dragon'', but i'd like to see you reviewing 'The Expanse' and 'For All Mankind', all of them so good...
Glad you finally watched these two episodes! Episode 8 was so epic! Ihope you continue on with the series, and reactions to the end. It's so good y'all!
I'm not exactly sure why Valyrian Steel can kill White Walkers the same as the dragon glass (Obsidian), there may be an explanation somewhere in canon like in the anthology books, I wouldn't know. My best guess is something to do with Old Valyria blacksmiths mixing the Obsidian in with their steel, and/or they used Dragon-fire in the process, possibly. Anyway, it's one of the best scenes in the entire show when Jon finds that out.
BJ was right, Jon’s sword Longclaw (given to him by Lord Commander Mormont) is made of Valyrian Steel.
They should have put some of these episodes on at the Theaters. S5E8 is as good as any movie that I have ever seen.
They did put it in theaters.
@@tiaslevalas6694O wow I didn’t know that. Kinda annoyed that I missed out on that.

that moment when cersei breaks down and just screams after getting whacked with the spoon, isn’t it just delightful?

I was waiting for Hardhomme. One of my favorite action scenes in the entire series. Just shows how real the threat is. Great dialog. Great choreography. The eery silence on the resurrection. Freaking excellent.
I love how the episode ended with no music. Just Jon looking horrified as they sail away.
That look said it all. Like we have a bigger fight and no one would believe what I just seen.
10:03 "Damn the oath to the Night's Watch."
Technically, the oath says you can't take a wife or father any children, so as long as Samwell's pullout game was strong he still satisfied his oath.
Satisfy the oath, your woman, and yourself. Now that's what I call a hat-trick!
Considering that Sam was a virgin, and injured, and on the bottom, his pull out game was probably weak.
This is the episode that set Samwell Tarly as beloved in our hearts. 💚
Hardhome is definitely one of the best episodes of GOT. At the end, when the Whitewalker resurrects the dead to turn them into an army, you suddenly realise what kind of enemy and power is coming.
Fun Fact - The actor playing Brone had a number 1 single in the UK back in the 90's. Look up "Up on the Roof" by robson and jerome.
Figures. He did a great job with The Dornish Man's wife and Rains of Castamere

(I read the books so I know!😊) You ain’t seen nothing yet!
i’m so glad y’all left in the “Night’s Watch! With me!” part. It’s one of my two favorite Jon Snow moments.
Lancel is Cersei’s cousin.
Anything made from Dragon fire will kill a White Walker. Obsidian (dragon glass), Valyrian Steel (melted by dragon fire), etc.
Yes Jon’s sword is made of Valerian steel. So dragon glass And valerian steel can kill the Night King and the rest.
Oh man as soon as I saw it was Hardhome, I wanted to say Asia warm up your blanket!😂😂😂
Actually Lancel Lannister is Cercis cousin. He is the son of Tywins brother Kevin.
18:05 Not her nephew, her cousin, Lancel. Tommen and Joffrey are her nephews... 😏
Tommen and Joffrey are her sons by her brother Jamie. Not her nephews.
@@jester24691 yes. they ARE the sons of her brother, aren't they?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Behold Asia and Bj . Meet The Night King . Leader of the White walkers at the end of Hardholme
Not to be confused with a frozen Darth Maul. 😂
@@mayet4702 Iced Maul
Asia!!! 😅😅😅😅 “you gotta be mad with a head like that” 42:20 I hollered 😭😭🤣🤣
For me from here on in is when game of thrones goes from being a great show to the greatest ever onwards
orange is the new black is pretty good, shameless, and breaking bad also
Not Asia bopping to “Dornishman’s Wife”😂😂
why not?
18:07 I very much enjoyed this scene because she was being so smug about her little plan
Luv your reactions to GoT. A similar series in tone and the number of twists is Black Sails.
Hardhome was madness. Could have been its own movie it was so damn good
Great reaction! Haha your impersonation of Sam "Oh my" got me 🤣
Glad you enjoyed 😂 Thanks ❤️❤️
one of 15 episodes in TELEVISON HISTORY that got 9.9/10 rating on IMBD GOT owns 4 of these, first one was Red wedding hardhome is second,2 more await you
"NIGHTS WATCH WITH ME" most badass thing ive ever seen, agains all logic Jon goes to fight for the weak!
Jon DID in fact kill White Walker with Valyrian Steel, that is supposed to be "revealed" by this scene.
Episode Jon became my favorite character! If you think about it Jons personality resembles Jesus Christ, which is not unintentinal,i think GOT plot and details are best TV of all time
Vikings !! MUST WATCH VIKINGS NEXT !!!
The next TV show you should check out is Supernatural.
Right off the bat,
THANK YOU for the larger view; i hate that tiny screen - i'm watching this on a phone, so trying to figure out what you're reacting to on a little 1 inch picture is an unsatisfying experience. Thanks again.
Hardhome is a crazy episode. Definitely in my top 5 favorite episodes, along with Blackwater and Watchers on the wall. My #1 is in season 6.
HARD HOME IS MY FAVORITE EPISODE!!!!!!
Y'all have probably heard by now that season 8 was widely disliked, but after you finish I'd strongly recommend House of the Dragon! A GoT prequel series with a lot of promise.
One of the series' best episodes.
Omg! GOT and Sopranos on the same day!!!!!! Rainy day……. salvaged!!!!
Been waiting for a new download of GOT. Keep it up, Your viewers love it! Thanks
The Wall was built to trap them in, the undead, and the cold preserves their rotten corpses.
Cersi made the mistake of empowering the religious zealots and they turned on her. A mistake she wouldn't have made if her father was alive and it rings true with what Tyrion said "You're not as clever as you think you are!"
Hardhome scenes were filmed in Iceland.
A lot of old Viking stock there left tall ginger men behind
Cerseis little plan backfired on her lol. He is her cousin though, not nephew, but still has so much dirt on her.
26:00 Cersei plotted with Lancel to drug Robert's wine before he went boar hunting, resulting in him being mortally wounded by the boar.
Basically wherever the zombies go, winter will follow them.
This show always had me in my feelings!! If it wasn’t one thing it was another! Like you said Asia, forget these traditions!
Im loving this,i held back until i could watch 5 reactions in a row.. Asia you come out with some great one liners.. Bj, that fire scene got me too.. It only gets more full on from here. Thanks
Finally - Hardhome. Can't describe what it was like to see this episode the night it came out.
Littlefinger gave Lancel Lannister as a gift to Olenna Tyrell knowing it would lead to Cersei's imprisonment ...
Hardhomme one of the best episodes in series
You were asking for suggestions for new series to check out, obviously '' House of the Dragon'', but i'd like to see you reviewing 'The Expanse' and 'For All Mankind', all of them so good...
Glad you finally watched these two episodes! Episode 8 was so epic! Ihope you continue on with the series, and reactions to the end. It's so good y'all!
17:30 Get ready for a twist. 'Cousin' Lancel Lannister, who knows all of Cersei's secrets.
best moment when jon's sword saves his life.
You just watched another God Tier GOT ep…Hardhome is one of my favs.
29:41 The Lord of Bones got pwned 😆😆😆😆 Quality Tormund moment 👍👍👍👍
